The STAR method is extremely important during the interview, it demonstrates how you could tackle with different problems. I think it's also important to prepare some questions that might be asked during the interview
Happy New Year Susie and your family 😊Thank you very much for the advice of the interview in UK. It is always good to update the interview techniques to keep an effective communication! All the best for your 2023🎍
Thank you, Susie woo for showing me about how to get a job in UK, Now I got permanent contract already since I passed through 3 months probation period. Some HK people had already share the tips to me to use UK CV standard to help looking for new job.
The UK CV standard is the same in HK. We don't put photos, or indicate age or gender on the CV since something like twenty years ago. But congratulations on your job hunting.
Love this content! And finally realised why the examiner at my IELTS speaking exam was so shocked when I walked in the room and said hi loudly and immediately(I just wanted to motive myself 😂😂 but now I know I would be better to just wait a second haha
Very useful and practical tips! Thanks Susie!😊 By the way, have you ever had any video talking about how to write good UK style CV? Should I not put nationality into my CV?
Happy New Year, Miss Susie. 🎍 Very educational video to learn interview skills from Miss Alix, and I am currently studying advanced writing on a CV, what things can and cannot do in an interview.
It’s quite surprised to know you shouldn’t put photo on resume, because a lot of agent and company website ask for LinkedIn profile link so it is kind of initial screening.
Great vid as usual, Susie. Alix has a personable style and did a fantastic job explaining the ins and outs of not just interviewing but job hunting in general. The only thing is here in the States we don’t recommend people sticking their mug shots in a resume either. Also, while no one is gonna knock your grammar, I would suggest working to reduce a thick accent, cuz if people are hard to understand then it’s gonna adversely impact the working dynamics once they’re on board. And lastly, just out of curiosity, is it offensive in British culture to sprinkle some light humor in the course of an interview?
I just can stop laughing when you talk about what NOT to do- not to show the desire for the job and this was how I failed in my first job interview in UK.
Almost everything is what I feel when I interviewed. But I don't that agree about not doing simulation interview. Well... that being said if you are good in English then you can just respond naturally. But I was not at that time. So being prepared for some questions which might be asked is quite helpful for me cause I can think about how to elaborate advancely. But I'm really appreciate for that you do some topics like this, well done!!
Hi Susie, Happy New Year 2023 when I live in HK but I don't know how can look for new job in work visa (IR35) on the UK.If you know much more Hongkonger immgration in different city such as Birmingham, Manchester and London. Unfortunately, I was born in HK before 1997 but without application BNO Passport before on 1997, and I was holder of the BTDC Passport but it has been expired of their passport. Otherwise, I was considered to another way of application to study the Ph.d Programme on the UK. At this moment time, which way of best channel going to the UK. In additional, I was always watching you video on the UA-cam to introduce the British culture
This video is really nice and useful. Moreover, it also comforts me a lot.

Thanks for the comment -- and light humour would definitely be encouraged in all contexts in the UK!
