A new laterite road for the communities of Sami Karantaba and Baya Bah .

The Minister of lands, regional government and religious affairs, Hamat NK Bah joined his counterpart Dr. Demba Sabally over the weekend for the inauguration of a 7km laterite road stretching from the main highway in Sami Karantaba to Baya Bah. The road was constructed by Hamidou Jah, as part of a major agricultural project in the area that aims to put 11 thousand hectares of land into rice production. As we hear in this report by GRTS’ Momodou Jallow, government is promoting private sector participation in agriculture as a means to provide employment and ensure rice self-sufficiency by 2030.
