I use to hang out at this airport when I was young, from mid 70's through mid 80's. Crashed plane is club Headwind, they went with a bigger motor than called for and extra weight made it a not very good flyer. BT13 is now at Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio. Monocoupe belonged to Willard Benedict (shown flying the Headwind) who the field in now named after. His Travel Air Mystery Ship is in the Kalazamoo Air Museum.

Did he have a hard landing, looks to be nose heavy. Notice on take off nose pitched down, what caused the plane to flip on It's back?
