They needed a more efficient replacement with the same power output for the N54, so they came up with a aluminum block and variable valve lift and stuff, and some stuff to improve reliability like forged rods instead of billet rods and a 3kg lighter crankshaft. I believe the efficiency of the engine went up by 15%. The reliability stuff Didn’t really help cause my engine decided 143.000km was enough, even though it was well maintained.
@@wesley8096 🤣🤣 I have a M235i with 94'000km and why the F do BMW put a plastic pipe for the Turbo ? I bought it from a mechanic and he had done everything on the car even cylinder head ! My biggest fear about this car is something beeing fade up of beeing a part a the car ! Like my previous car a 120I F22 wich a radiator pipe "Left the game" cost me 700€ or repair and Also a month for the part 😅

Actually it's a N54 install in the 335I E92 because the N54 is a bi-turbo and the N55 is a Twin-scroll Turbo
