There’s a difference between an actual mechanic that has his tool cart for work and home. These are not bad ideas for home but NOT work cause most the time you’ll find that stuff that isn’t inside will end up missing. The top is the most efficient for a mechanic because it’s easier to get sockets out rather then opening and closing drawers every time you need a socket. You’ll almost see every mechanic have there sockets in the top versus drawers. But that’s just me what do I know, I’m just a heavy Equipment mechanic and have been for 30 years now.
No doubt, this is purposeful and I hope I made that clear that the purpose of this cart is for at home. Totally with you, can absolutely see the lid staying open with sockets there and inefficient to put them in the drawer. Thank you for checking out the video my friend.
So well organized with everything you need and more importantly nothing you don't. Mine has become the island of lost tools with so many wayward sockets and other incomplete sets. This gives me some inspiration to do better. Thanks.
You are very welcome. Yup, if nothing has a home, it’ll be a mess and slow you down on simple tasks.
Bro, those 90° drill attachments are highly incredible. Had to use one re - running electrical wiring in a house and there was a corner that we couldnt fit a regular drill into. Truly a life saver.
Man I'm excited to use it, never used it before. Thanks for checking out the video man!
@@BoostedMPLS Well, when you do get around to using it, you will be pretty damn glad you have it. Thats really all I can say, its a godsend. 🥰
Really appreciate how thoroughly you went through everything. My ocd tends to get the better of me as well. I've been looking into getting a tool cart for my projects at home and you've given me plenty of ideas.
I really like how yours is set up with the extra hooks and magnets on the outside. I got mine and immediately put a bunch of decals on but I think after seeing yours so clean I’ll take my stickers off and just put extra badges from cars I’ve had over the years
Thank you, appreciate that. I think it’s our initial gut reaction but then later on we appreciate the clean look haha. Thanks again for checking out the video
Very Cool. My neighbor is starting to work on his own car and I told him to start out with a HF tool cart. I'm gonna send him a link. Also, I used to ride a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 450.....memories.
Adding those hooks for the tools is an awesome idea!! Gonna have to do that! And thanks for sharing your setup great tour 💯
Super helpful, indeed. Thanks for checking out the video, glad I could bring value.
Have the same box in blue, I'm really just a young guy that does everything himself because I can't/won't pay someone else, I do my own oil changes all the way up to swapping engine gaskets , radiators motor mounts fuel pumps, front end work and more extensive stuff. I'm a maintenance tech at a commercial truck center and he's I mainly just do lubricants, oil, grease joints and top off fluids, they do have me do batteries and fuel filters and stuff like that. They also allow me to use the shop and lift and I've gotten a lot done then being in hot/cold ass dirt road alleyway.
Cool mods, love the Lodesol mats. DIN 5260-PH/ISO 8763-1 specs are for Japanese drivers, in catalogs you'll see them as, for example, "+2" or "-0.7". They are sometimes specced as, for example, "PH.2" or "P.2" or etc, and sometimes described as "JIS plus" or "beyond JIS" because JIS is no longer current spec for *drivers*. Asian screws & bolts are mostly JIS spec. DIN/ISO drivers fit Phillips screws much better than Phillips divers and fit perfectly in JIS screws. I've gone to all Vessel drivers and Vessel or Anex bits, all made to the DIN/ISO specs.
Japanese screws are jis and if you own pre 2000 Japanese cars or bikes they are a must. Life changing with just one vessel screwdriver
Hello my friend, I am a chemical engineer so I am immersed in the engineering field. Love the video and thanks for all the great tool Ideas!
Man, I didn't even see this vid too. This is def going to be my winter project.
You didn't change anything really here. So you must be enjoying the set up! Awesome videos man.
Where can I get a boostedmpls decal? Super nice setup! Great video!
Thanks for watching! All merch can be found here: www.digitalflare.work/boostedmpls
Nice set up!
I always wanted to be a mechanical engineer, but I didn't have the smarts....
Congrats to you!
Really nice video and setup. Me personally would never allow anything from harbor freight in my tool box at all, but at the end of the day is not the tool brand is the mechanic.
It’s probably been said but it’s JIS, not Pozi that you need for Japanese vehicles. That Vessel set does include a Pozi 2+3 bit though, so can understand the confusion
Hi, Can you please tell me the layout and item numbers of the Loadesol flexible magnetic pads on the underside of the top of the cart.
"...then these teeth will dig in.... and pop it right off...."
In theory.....
Nice video
I used to be OCD. Know why I'm no longer OCD. Married a woman that had no organization skills and would jack things up. Between having to work and come home babysit her mess pluse other things, finally I said F it I don't give a F anymore.
@@BoostedMPLS I've lived both extremes, they both have their own unique demons. Wish I could find that middle best of both. 🤯
@@whysoserious7014 yeah I totally get that. Nothing is perfect. Life is filled with compromises
i think the biggest problem with this style of box is murphys law no matter what you are working on if you are using the top of the box you will need something from under the lid and if you keep nothing under there then its wasted space.
you are wrong. pozidrive is more used on woodwork related stuff. Japanese uses JIS japanese industrial standard. phillips is made to slip by the car industry. pozidrive has more grip to it in my experiance.
NEW SUBSCRIBER...Can you hook me up with DW initals sticker, as that's mine & my wife's initials?
Thank you for subscribing! Would love to if I had another one! Appreciate you watching my friend!
breath threw your Nose man...lol
So many haters!!
Thanks for the great video and the inspiration for my new cart setup. I've taken a few pointers from you.
I watched your original video as well. Quick question for you -- how are attaching the gym mats to the top deck? I was contemplating copying that as well, but I wanted a solution that wasn't a pain to remove if I damage the mats and need to swap them out. Thanks again!! @@BoostedMPLS
@@A-wn8yc Thanks for watching! Glad you were able to take value from it. I double side taped it!
