The reason was was that he was trying to do what’s called a clear mix. You have to put the sound in your nose so there is an element of nasality. He already has a nasal type voice, he would close off the sound and put the sound STRAIGHT through his nose. He’s improved a ton, opened up the sound and sounds sooo much better.

Patty's voice is way more pop punk than bens. Ben has a modern UK pop punk voice and patty is more old school, USA Pop punk.

Wow watch this then compare to warped 2018, he has improved so much, don’t get me wrong the squeaky is cute but he has gotten so much less nasally over the years and he sounds a lot better

Man, their album recording of this must have been complete studio fabrication. This performance struck me as a high school cover of the recording.

Morticia Moonflower Singer here as well! I’ve been studying voice for 15 years. He just seeeriously closed off the sound and put it through his nose for his clear mix. He opened up the sound a ton and has impeccable technique now! I saw them live like 10 days ago. My mom said it sounded like a second puberty hit him. Lol.

Danielle N Yeah a big reason he sounds not that good is because WARPED’S LIVESTREAM ALWAYS SAD PRETYY BAD. The mixes and recordings in the mics just aren’t good and sound 1,000,000,000x better irl. Like look at self phone videos, so much better. And plus now Patty’s voice is even just better, like the Wounded World live is SO FUCKING GOOD
Saw these guys at slam dunk, and the guitarist can sing better than vocalist, musically there amazing, Same on record, but live the vocalist struggles so much

Objectively speaking, the singer's voice is way too nasal and unprojected. He has a very nice voice though, so it's just a matter of technique. I find it incredibly hard to believe people feel this is a flawless performance.
