    Sir Olivier's cinematic vision is incomparable. This soundtrack only enhances the mood.

    Walton just does not seem to have been inspired with this film, as he undoubtedly was with Richard III and Henry V. And he suffers from comparison with Shostakovich's music for the Russian Hamlet, which is stupendous.

    I wish Shostakovich had composed the soundtrack to Olivier's movie!
