- I designed a sushi bake that's been a hit at family parties, business events and pot lucks. This is a simpler version and knowing not everyone has access to Japanese Mayo, I created a filling that is just as good without it. The recipe is the video will be good for a large party (Feeds 30 - 50). Here are the list of ingredients you will need.
Ingredients
1. Jasmine Rice, Sushi Rice or Cal Rose works best.
2. Imitation Crab
3. Salmon
4. Mayo
5. Sriracha
6. Sesame Oil
7. Kewpie (Japanese Mayo)
8. Cream Cheese
9. Furikake
10. Rice Vinegar
11. Green Onions
Please email me or DM me on Instagram @makeitjudy if you would like a custom portion size that fits your family.

Lol asians never measure stuff.. that’s my family too, we just eyeball everything 😂
It’s sooo true!! Hahaha! You learn by adding “this much” 😂
I’m Mexican and my fam does the same thing if it’s too much or too little they know for next time and remember every time lol
That’s when you know they cook from the heart with lots of love! ❤️😊
Yea, my husband does it too.. eyeball everything … but I measure. So when I ask him certain recipe and for the measurement, he doesn’t know what to say 😂
Lol it’s hard to say exactly how much sometimes but it’s a working progress 💪🏽
thanks for sharing! looks delish.!
You’re very welcome! Hope you try it. Thank you for watching! If you need help, feel free to message me on IG @makeitjudy
Can i put canned tuna instead of salmon? 😃 thanks
melvin de leon I think the canned tuna might throw off the flavor but you can always leave the tuna out if you only have the imitation crab. I say, sample the canned tuna on the side first with all the mixed ingredients and see how you like it 🤗
where is the cooking instruction. Wasabe wasnt on the ingredients and how long to bake it?
I just responded to your DM on Instagram with details ❤️
I just made this today! It’s super good, everyone loves it! I added some unagi sauce, because my kids like a little sweet. Thank you so much for sharing this!😘
Aww yay!! So glad you made it. It’s amazing with Unagi sauce right 😍 Stay blessed ❤️
Hi, the sushi bake you made looked yummy and very beautiful ❤️😃. I just wanted to know for how long do you put in the oven and the temperature? for example like 350 degrees. Thank you so much 👍👏👍😃
Thank you! ❤️ You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Some bake it for as long as 25 depending on your oven. You can broil on high for 5-7 minutes. Enough for it to get toasty on top. Also, you can eat it as is, non bake. I hope that helps ❤️😊
We made this twice in one weekend and it was a hit with both fam and friends!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for sharing the pictures! ❤️ So happppy to hear it was a hit 🤗
Me and Joy are drooling 🤤🤤🤤
What oven temp, and for how long?!
You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil on high for 5-7 just to get the top nice and melted or non bake :)
Great idea to serve a crowd! Some small dice Cucumber, squeeze some of the water out, would add some crunch. I like your suggestion to add Avocado too. If you have it, a drizzle of Eel Sauce or Sweet Soy Sauce on top, Kecap Manis, would look nice and add a touch of sweetness to balance the vinegar...JJ
Yes!! My other style of sushi bake, I love drizzling Eel sauce along with adding roe or even some fried tempura batter bits! Love love love!! Thanks Chef JimmyJ!
Thanks for the recipe! How long did you put it in the oven and what temperature? Thanks!
You’re welcome 🤗 You have the option to not bake it and eat it as is or bake it at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or broil at high for 10-15 minutes depending on your oven. If you broil, check between 5-7 just in case it burns the top. Hope that helps! ❤️
Thanks for the recipe! I made it exactly how you did and it came out delicious! Everyone loved it 🥰
Awww, thank you for trying it out!! I love hearing that everyone loved it. Thank you for watching and sharing 💕 Stay blessed!
makeitjudy it’s definitely a new favorite! 😁 And thank you! You as well! ❤️
I made this tonight and it's definitely a favorite recipe of mine now. A few adjustments I made: Less sesame seed oil. Imitation lobster instead of crab because it has a firmer, meatier texture. I also made a sauce using brown sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce, fish sauce, and water. I used it on the side but it would taste good on top too. No green onions but next time I will. Thanks for the recipe! Bon apetit.
Thanks for sharing! I’m so happy to hear you tried it out and it’s now a favorite! Love that you made the receipt catered to you. Stay blessed😊
I have not seen imitation lobster , what brand or do you have a picture?
There is a brand called Trans Ocean that makes imitation lobster. That's the only one I've seen so far at my local stores.
“My grandma would kick me if she ever saw this” I can sooo relate! Lmao. my grandma would kick me too! Are you Filipina? Lol
Lol! She would 😭 I was always told never to waste rice. I’m not Filipino but my husband is. Asian culture! Lol same beliefs
I can relate...but my aunt would say that if i waste even 1 grain, my soul will be covered with the rice pot cover while i'm sleeping and i may not wake up! So who would ever waste a grain of rice :)
Hi Judy thanks for your video will definitely try this . Did u broil it for 5-10 mins?
Hi Janice! You can do this as non bake, bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or broil on high between 5-10 🤗 Tag me on IG me when you try it! Would love to see it. Message me if you need help with it too @makeitjudy
Hi I made the baked sushi and it was delicious!!!! Everyone really enjoyed it. I used your recipe and added 2 more ingredients. I chopped 1/2 a sweet onion and added it to the salmon and imitation crab mixture. To the rice I added 1/2 a packet of Tamanoi Sushinoko , It gave the rice a richer flavor. Thank you for sharing this recipe 💕💕
Hi Deb! Thank you so much! I definitely have to try out the way you mixed your rice. I appreciate this so much! ❤️ Stay blessed!
350 for 25 minutes right
@user-uk7dg8wo2q you can bake it from 10-15 minutes on 350. Some go as long as 25 minutes depending on their oven
What temperature to cook it and how long?
You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil for about 5-7 minutes or non bake. 😊
I will be making my first sushi bake tonight and am excited!
I will be adding in jalapeno pepper as well.🥰
Yay!! I’m excited for you! If you have some Unagi sauce, it would go great with it too 😊 share a picture on my IG @makeitjudy
I'm watched less than five minutes and I'm in love! With you and the recipe LOL. Love your energy. 💚
Awww you’re so sweet, Patti!! Thank you for watching ❤️ more videos coming soon..
Great hit with friends and fam. I made it multiple times and tweaked it a bit by adding mango and cucumber slices.
Thank you for sharing! I love it! Mango has been something very popular that I've seen from followers that shared their photos with me. I still need to try it! 💜
Hi Judy, looks good and I want to try. and make it Just a few qq's.
What size baking pan?
How many oz/lbs of imitation crab?
How many oz/lbs of salmon?
How long to broil?
How is the technical version different in case i'd like to try?
Does the srirachi make it too spicy for kids?
Thanks!
Brian Kozuma thanks so much for your interest! You can email me at makeitjudy@gmail.com and I can definitely help answer these questions into more detail. I can base it on how many people you are feeding in your house hold. This one I made could feed about 50-60 people. Party size. About 16x25 and roughly 5-6 inches deep was the pan size.
I used about close to 3lbs of imitation crab, 1 lb of salmon. Broiled it on high for roughly 5-10 minutes. Based on your oven because some can be different. We checked it so it didn’t burn.
Technical way was I added some cooked shrimp and grounded it into the sushi bake mix. Then added salmon sashimi on top. I also used unagi sauce on top of the rice before putting the filling on and squiggled some on top.
Sriracha is optional. You don’t have to put it or don’t have to add a lot. It gives it some flavor but the cream cheese & mayo normally helps the heat. 🤗
@@makeitjudy Thanks SO much!
Brian Kozuma you’re very welcome! 🤗
Hi Judy. Can you help me with portioning for 5-6 people. Thanks! All the best 😀
I’ve watched this so many times. Beautiful people and such a lovely kitchen. Thanks for the video. Can’t wait to make it. :)
Rachael M. thank you!! You just made my day with that message. I’m excited for you to make it! When you do, tag me on IG @makeitjudy. Would love to see it!
ive made this several times for my family and they all love it!! thanks for the great recipe😋
Aww thanks for sharing this with me! So glad they all love it. Stay blessed! 😊
How long do you broil it?
Bake on 350 for 10-15 minutes (maybe even up to 25 depending on your oven. Broil on high for 5-7 minutes or non bake 😊
Girl, you blew UP since the last time I viewed your video (about 8 months ago)! Good for you. Back here again to make another batch of sushi bake. (:
Aww.. thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing your recipe, beautiful ladies ❤ watching from uk
Thank you for watching ❤️❤️❤️
You look like Lilo from the old Disney, cartoon Lilo and stitch
I didn't know that it is this simple! I might make this for the holidays for my husband lol
Yes! Lol if you like Unagi sauce, it taste really good with it too! You can always throw some avocados and cucumbers on top of it as well. Customize it to make it you ❤️
That was very helpful. The only I would add is some zig zag unagi sauce. What do you think?
Yes!! 🤗 I add it on rice too. Check out my newest UA-cam shorts that I made a month ago. It was a request from some viewers for an up close view. I usually make it with Unagi sauce but this video was the basic recipe 🙌🏽😊
i tried it and my family loves it! I also included it into my vlog.. I just did some adjustments and add ons 😀😅
Sweets & Salties by Abby I just watched it!! ❤️ love how you added your own take. That’s how you make it you! Subscribed as well 🤗
I watch this video every year it makes me feel safe
Aw! Thank you, Emma. I’m glad it brings you comfort ❤️❤️❤️
Try with eel sauce fireeeeeeee
It sure is! That’s how I make it for my orders 🙌🏽 with the sauce!
Maybe some jalapeños 🤤 love you Judy! ❤️
Yes girl! That’s the extra spicy version 😘 Love you tooooo Jessica! 💜
Ah the good days before noticeable inflation. Lol thank you for this video!
Dang inflation! Lol thank you for watching!
Okay, I would love to make this but it’s just me! What is the scale for a small batch because I need this in my belly!
Lol! I usually make a personal size for my hubs. 8x5 or if you have a square Tupperware like a 5x5 would work too.
1 1/2 cup of chopped up imitation crab
4 Oz of cooked salmon
2oz to 4oz of cream cheese
1/2 cup of mayo (or more if you like it creamier)
Sriracha will be up to how spicy you want it
1 to 1/2 cup of cooked rice
A drizzle of sesame oil and rice vinegar to season you rice.
Taste everything as you go. Make this dish cater to your taste buds ❤️
What about real Snow Crab Meat?...I guess to each it's own? I would probably Do Real Snow Crab Cause it will be just for TWO.
Snow crab will definitely work. The meat is sweeter so slowly add the cream cheese and mayo. Taste it as you make it 😊
This is what I have been craving for during 5 months of being stranded in a beautiful island of Batanes!
Just a tip from other bakers: not to put anything on the glass door of the oven. It can cause small breaks that we dont see and someday the oven can explode w/o warning.
Stay safe stranded on the island! Thank you for the heads up! I will definitely spread the word ❤️
@@makeitjudy we are home already since 2 wks ago. Thanks! You too keep safe as well 💕
What is oven temperature and how long do you bake it? Thank you
You can bake it on 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil it for about 7 minutes or non bake 😊
Thank you for the recipe. I know this now by heart! Watched and made it several times and my family loves it. ❤️
Thank you for watching and for this comment ❤️ I’m so happy to hear you mastered it! Stay blessed!!
This looks good. Ive been looking for a good sushi bake recipe and this one stands out.. will definitely try this thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! I would love to see it when you make it. Tag me on IG @makeitjudy ❤️ Happy cooking and stay safe!
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME
Thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I made it and it turned out so delicious 😋
The only thing I didn’t have is kewpie mayo. Which not really needed considering the amount of mayo and cream cheese added. Thanks for sharing I will definitely make this again for a potluck. It’s enough for a group of people
Aww yay! Thanks for the feedback ❤️ You definitely don’t need the Kewpie. It’s only for decoration for this recipe. I made this version so people can try it if they don’t have access to the Japanese mayo. Thanks again for sharing and trying it out! Stay blessed 🤗
How long did they broil it for, hi or lo?
You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil at high for about 10 minutes or less depending on your oven (definitely check it if you broil) or non bake and serve it as is. I hope that helps! 😊
Thanks everyone, even Ron.
P.S. it looks like sitting when eating is not a thing Asians do!😊
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
hi there i wanna try making this when you bake /broil it what was the oven temp?
Hi! You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or broil on high for around 5-7 minutes. It depends on your oven so check in to make sure it doesn’t burn if you broil ❤️

Kakaka I love this, I never measured too. Just eyeballs like u.😂
You just know! If you know, you know how much to add right? 🤣 Keep cooking from the heart and thank you!!
You can get the light or fat free Philadelphia cream cheese and light Mayo …
Yes definitely! I even used dairy free and it’s still amazing 🙌🏽 thank you!!
Looks amazing! What is the quantity of salmon and crab that you use?
Hi Joy! In this video, I used 1.5lbs of salmon & close to 2lbs of imitation crab 🤗
That's my favorite food.. Thank you for the recipe..🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for your support! 💜
Can you pre make this and freeze it? Then cook it later?????
I had a friend try it and he said the rice wasn’t great after it was frozen. You can always just make the sushi bake filling the night before. It was good in the fridge for max 3 days. For the rice, you can always just make it fresh.
Left over sushi bake was good in the fridge for about two days. I would just reheat it in the oven. Hope that helps.
Made this last night for a early July 4th party and it was hit. Thank you!
Yes! I love hearing that!! Thank you for sharing 🙌🏽💜
Eel sauce! Don’t forget to drizzle eel sauce on top along with the sriracha and mayo 👍🏼
Yesss! 😋😋😋 Thats my other version with some fried crispy tempura bits on top!
Omg!!! After watching this I had to subscribe to your channel!!!!!
Awwww! Thank you for the love and support! ❤️ Stay blessed!!

Yay! Once you try it, let me know and tag me on IG @makeitjudy. It’s my friends rice cooker and I believe so! 🤗
What is the temperature for baking and how long?
350 degrees for 10-15 minutes (some go for 20 depending on your oven, broil on high or 5-7 minutes or non bake. Hope that helps.
The leftovers would make amazing wonton filling fried 🤤
It does! anddddd if you minus the salmon, add shrimp and shredded cheese on top of some sliced French bread then broil it, you get a yummy shrimp toast! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
How long did you have it in the oven for and how high?
You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil on high for 5-7 minutes or non bake. I broiled mine on the middle rack for about 5-7. Keep an eye out on yours just in case. Definitely depends on your oven 😊
Go girl! Great job on the first video! This is my fave.
Marian L Thank you for the support! I’m excited to make more ❤️
Just tried making this today and it is so delicious. We didn't have salmon so I used canned tuna instead. Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you for sharing and I’m so glad it turned out delicious 😊 I must try the canned tuna! So many people have been saying it’s good! Thanks for watching and supporting ❤️
I like it creamy too😋😋😋😋😋😋

I’ve looked at other sushi bake recipe, yours is still the best.
Thank you, Emerald! So sweet of you! ❤️ Thanks for your support! Stay blessed 🙏
This is a good superbowel dish!
Yes! It sure is! 🤗
thanks for sharing, i like how you made it, looks so premium
Thank you, Carlo!! 🤗
Looks bomb! Loved how you seasoned the rice too!
RoseAustin C. It’s all about giving it that extra flavor in the rice 🤗 makes the dish that much better ❤️
English is your second language yet, furikake is not English.
How much salmon? It looks like about 3 pieces if not more?
It was roughly 1lb of salmon and 5lbs of imitation crab
You can always use less salmon so it doesn’t overpower the flavor of the imitation crab.
Does she says how long and how warm the oven?
You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil on high for about 5-7 minutes (just until it starts getting golden) or non bake 😊
3year old video 👍 You was way ahead of the whole tic tok vibe
Do you use the skin from the salmon?
I don’t put the skin inside the filling but I sometimes fry the skin and crumble it on top.
Love your energy! Get it mammas! 😆🙌💖
Thanks for the positive vibes!! 🤗🤗🤗
Daebak! Good thing I made it to your vlog. I hope i can make one soon.
I hope you do too!! Thank you for watching 🤗
How long do you have to broil it?
On high for about 10-15 minutes. Depends on your oven. Check it after 5 minutes or 7 minutes to see if it already caramelized. 🤗
I made your sushi bake and it was a hit. I just omitted the green onions and put shrimp instead of salmon. Thank you so much Judy for sharing your yummy recipe. Stay safe and God bless.
Aww thank you for the feedback! It’s definitely great with shrimp. If you like Unagi sauce, I say drizzle some on there and throw on some tempura for some crunch next time. 🤗 Stay blessed! Take care 😊
@@makeitjudy that’s a good idea, I will try to add tempura shrimp next time and let you know. Where do you normally buy your furikake seasoning and Japanese mayonnaise? What store?
At your local Asian market, they usually carry Japanese mayo & Furikake. Costco actually has the Japanese mayo where I live. If you can’t find it, Amazon is probably the way to go for them.
@@makeitjudy I bought my furikake and Japanese mayonnaise from Amazon. Ok will check out asian market near me if they have Japanese mayonnaise and furikake. Thank you again Judy 😘
I added Unagi sauce to the drizzle on top and it taste exactly like a lion king roll now so good!
Yesss! The Unagi sauce is amazing with it. I also helped someone make a shrimp version with tempura flakes on top 😍 Thanks for your comment. Stay blessed ❤️
How long do you broil for? (:
You can broil it for 5-7 minutes on high. Be sure to check it to make sure it doesn’t burn. It will depend on your oven :)
Thanks a lot for sharing! I'll definitely try to make this..Looks so ono!!! yum!!
Thank you for watching! I’m so excited for you to try it ❤️
If I don’t want to use cream cheese
You don't have to use it. If you just do a mayo base, I would just use the kewpie mayo instead of regular mayo.
Hiya! Can you put the crab/salmon mix in the fridge if you mix more than you need and use it the following day or something? Thank you x
Hi! Of course you can 🤗 If you have extra filling you made, you can turn it into a dip or put it on a slice of French baguette, top it off with some cheese and broil it until the cheese melts. Another idea for an appetizer ❤️
lov you version of shushi bake i made this 3 time and now for m😊y 1yr bbybirthday i still alwyas watch how you make coz i dont want miss anything coz your are phenomenal i suggest to alll my friends❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Aww! Thank you so much for this comment! I truly truly trulyyy appreciate it! So glad you enjoy the recipe 😊😊😊 Thank you!!!
looks delicious!! thank you for sharing this recipe!! with love from the philippines
Thank you for watching! Feel free to email me if you have any questions on making it 😊
Love your recipe ❣️🍣🍱🍙 I made this but found the nori sheets in the small pkgs. to thin and they fell apart. The only remedy was to double up on the nori sheets. I may try buying the large nori pkg. and just cutting them in fourths.
Thank you! If the sushi bake is a little thicker, you can definitely get the regular Nori sheets you roll sushi with. They work just as great when you cut it. I appreciate this comment! Thank you for the support ❤️
How long did u Broil it
Hi Ivy! You can bake it at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, broil on high for roughly 7-10 minutes or non bake version. If you decide to broil or bake, check it in between. It really depends on your oven. It can take less time or longer.
Thanks for your recipe. Yours is the simplest to follow. Like you, I don't measure anything, I just eye ball it...hehehe.. but I'm drooling too!! Yum yum yum!!!
Thank you for watching and the feedback 😊 The eyeball method just works out the best lol!!
this is a bomb guys!!! yummy!!!Thank you so much for sharing :)
Yay! Thanks for watching. Enjoy!! ❤️
Lol! Omg girl, I stumbled upon this vid, and was auto drool. I never eat this is long long long time, since like shoot... I can’t even guess. I’ve been mainland since 2011. And I’m AL, they don’t have the good stuff like this. Tomorrow’s my bday and I think this is what my bday dinner will be. Thanks for sharing!!

Can we get technical version!?
How much time in the oven ?
Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, broil on high for 5-7 minutes or non bake. Hope that helps 😊
