  • I have no idea how to classify this. Historical? Sci-fi? Fantasy? Whatever! Flying saucers over Berlin! We're building Pegasus Hobbies' 1/144th Haunebu II German flying saucer.

I get the feeling that this kit became an immediate labour of love as soon as you removed the box lid!!
Love your channel, keep up the great work, inspirational content as always.

Andy over at Andy's Hobby Headquarters channel did the 1/72nd scale version by Squadron. The thing was massive compared to a 1/72nd scale Sherman. The detail was much greater, and it had a full interior. Keep up the great vids!

If you want to do a larger, more detailed version, Squadron has one in 1/72

I would build it with the landing closed and hang it from fishing line from either the display case it book shelf or what ever you put it.

Very nice! I know Pegasus is creating very cool what-if stuff, like the E-25 and Porsche tank design ideas in 1/72.

there is an haunebu II in 1/72 scale, i don't remember from which brand it was, but that could be a cool project for you

There are several, from Squadron (very large), Wave, Bird, Hand & Head, Anigrand Models and Revell. Revell, Wave and Hand & Head are using the same model.

I had no problem with the wheels on my model; they fitted perfectly.

Funny. Lou over at Aztec Dummy is building the "Big Brother" (1/72) version of this kit and has pretty much the same complaints though his kit is from Squadron.

At 6:20, there's a weird transition, and the model looks totally different. What paint was used to achieve this sort of eggshell seagreen?

I haven't seen that scuffing technique before with the masking tape. Am I correct in assuming that it was to reduce the amount of residue the tape could leave behind or the amount of paint it could pick up?

How is it "obvious" it was never built? Because of "conspiracy theories"? What kind of argument is that?

Hey Doc..what kind of airbrush do You use? Just curious..it seems to spray real smooth. I have a Badger Patriot and I'm looking to upgrade.

There was an old WW2 strategy game I played where if you won as Japan, the final scenario you fought Germany in India and the CPU had a "UFO". Kind of neat to see that it was at least some crazy concept.

For the panel lines, a lot of WW2 aircraft had a lot of visible weld lines on them.

I would agree it was most likely a sketch that never made it to development, but could have been the baseline for americas attempt after the war to develop a similar craft

It was definitely built I was there! We managed to get it to fly to an altitude of 4 feet for a distance of 6 inches. Then we found out air made it catch fire. Then the Fuhrer fired me :(
