  • An actress sacked after an anti-gay Facebook post she wrote seven years ago emerged, has lost her claim for discrimination.
Seyi Omooba sued Leicester's Curve Theatre after she was dropped from the role of Celie in the stage performance of The Colour Purple, a character sometimes depicted as gay.
In 2014 she wrote: "I do not believe you can be born gay, and I do not believe homosexuality is right, though the law of this land has made it legal doesn't mean its right."
Michael Phillps, a solicitor who provided her with legal assistance, told talkRADIO: "Just because somebody plays a murderer, they don't have to believe in murder. That is the beauty of acting that you have an ability to take on roles that you don't necessarily agree with."
