Hi 😁 Raymond-san, Thank you for the wonderful comment. If you have time, please check out my other videos where I introduce more wonderful things about Japan.😘
KonbanwaLucy-san, thank you for your comment and your kind words, and also for visiting Japan frequently. May is the best time to travel around Japan because the weather is comfortable!! At that time, the cherry blossoms have usually already fallen, but if you visit here in early May, you can see beautiful wisteria flowers. I hope you have a wonderful stay in Japan!
HiMarcey-sanThank you for your comment. It was truly enjoyable to cycle while taking in the breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji! During my visit, the bike rental shop was quite crowded, and I found myself waiting for about 30 minutes. I realized I should have made a reservation in advance. So, if you're certain about wanting to use a bike, I highly recommend making an advance reservation online. Have a fantastic trip!😉😉
I am just finishing my trip here. If you can’t handle standing for at least an hour, then take the Fuji bus and get sign up for a tour. The local trains here are so packed with tourists that very likely you will need to stand. The train ride from Kawatchiko to Osuki station alone is 1 hour. I don’t know about you but my feet can’t stand for that long.
HiangelasoWA-san😄Welcome back from your trip to Mount Fuji. Thank you for your advice! Yes, you're right - for those who find standing uncomfortable, taking the bus is a better option. When I went, the local trains weren't too crowded, but it seems they're now filled with tourists. By the way, I heard it's quite cold around Mount Fuji today, and there's even been some snow in certain areas. Please stay warm and take some rest to avoid catching a cold.😉

Thanks for the video! Mt. Fuji is Beaultiful. I will travel to Japan next month so I appreciate the video, it helps a lot. One question. How to get to Yamanaka lake from there? is it easy?
Hi HFChannel-san Thanks for your comment. There are buses from Kawaguchiko Station and Mt. Fuji Station to Yamanakako. However, I couldn't find any timetable other than in Japanese, and the bus schedule may change, so it would be better to check at the tourist information center at Kawaguchiko Station.
Hello! llaoyaooo-san!😉😉 Thank you for watching my video. Although I don’t remember the exact time, I took the bus home at around 6 PM. Since it was a weekday, there was no traffic. However, on weekends, holidays, or if there's an accident, the roads can get congested. More important than the traffic situation is securing a seat on the bus early. Right now, the area around Mount Fuji is extremely crowded, and bus reservations fill up quickly, so make sure to secure your seat as early as possible! Enjoy your trip to Mount Fuji!🗻
What a great video - I am travelling to Japan in 2 weeks and this video was very helpful. Can you tell me how long you spent in Fuji? I want to make sure we have enough time for all the sightseeing and cycling!
HI😁amara-san,🌸Thank you for your kind words. I'm delighted to know that my video was helpful to you! I spent approximately 2 hours in Shimoyoshida and around 5 hours in Kawaguchiko. The round trip around Kawaguchiko-lake is about 17 km, so it seems that 2 to 3 hours should be sufficient for cycling around the lake but that's completely up to you. If you plan to visit cafés and restaurants in Kawaguchiko, I recommend checking their opening hours, as many of them close in the late afternoon. I hope you'll be blessed with fine weather when you visit Mt. Fuji!🥰
I went to the Chureito Pagoda and Kawaguchiko early this year (2024) for Cherry Blossoms. IMHO, taking the bus would be the easiest because it’s a direct 2hr ride from Shinjuku St to Kawaguchiko St and cheaper than train.
Hi AP-san! Thank you for the advice! I agree with you😆the bus is faster and cheaper. One good thing about the train is that the toilets are spacious! Were the cherry blossoms beautiful? This year, the blooming was quite late. I hope you were able to enjoy the cherry blossoms. If you have any other tips or experiences to share, I'd love to hear them!🥰Arigatou!
@@GetToKnowJapanTogether you’re welcome! I arrived at Kawaguchiko two days after Sakura opened so I was able to see it in full bloom. Some tips for your future videos. • some hotels in Kawaguchiko have free shuttle buses from the station to the hotel • if you want to see Sakura at Chureito Pagoda, it’s better to go from sunrise. After 9am the line was up to 4hrs+ long and harder to take good pictures without crowds. I had lots of space and freedom from 6:30am - about 8am with no crowds • once the Pagoda observation deck becomes busy, there is a 5 or 10 minute limit you can stay before they tell you to get off and new people can enter. If you come early enough or in the evening, there is no line • besides the Pagoda, you should rent a bike for a day or half day and ride around the nearest lake, Kawaguchi. There are many other Sakura spots when riding around the lake and also the nice view spot, Oishi Park. • many people don’t know FujiQ Highland is free to enter unlike Disneyland or Universal Studios. You just pay for individual rides or purchase a day pass • JR railpass doesn’t work from Kawaguchiko station to Otsuki station because it’s a private line (Fujikyuko-sen / 富士急行線) These are some tips I remember for now and I can update later if I remember more. Hope this helps! 😊
@@tyronecamilleri4277 Hi, Tyrone Camilleri-san! Thank you for your comment. You can visit the pagoda and Kawaguchiko as shown in my video. However, they tend to get very crowded, so I recommend making your reservations well in advance. Just a gentle reminder, highways can become extremely congested during the New Year's holidays as many people travel to visit their relatives. Consequently, there is a possibility that express buses may not adhere to their schedules. Please plan your itinerary with some flexibility. New Year's holidays are crowded, but there are lots of fun things to do, such as "fukubukuro" (Lucky bags) on sale! Enjoy your stay in Japan!😉

Thanks for this video, can i clarify that by taking the Fuji excursion train I can get straight from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko using the same express train. But I have to get down from Otsuki to buy another ticket of Y1580 in the station and get on the same express train? If so, will there be enough time for me to buy the ticket and get on the train? Its really confusing as before, we were told to get off at Otsuki station and get a local train which is another hour as its so slow. Many thanks in advance
Kon-nichiwa! itsmeeh Lala-san!Thank you for watching my video. If you're using the Japan Rail Pass to take the Fuji Excursion train, you can pay the fare difference for the non-JR section (from Otsuki to Kawaguchiko) when you get off at Kawaguchiko Station (though you may have to wait in a long line at the fare adjustment counter). You don’t need to get off at Otsuki Station to buy a separate ticket. I confirmed this with Fujikyu Railway over the phone, so there is no mistake about it. Since Fujikyu Railway is a different company, JR staff may not always be fully informed and might give you such guidance. Technically, that guidance is not incorrect. The standard procedure when transferring from JR to another company is to purchase a ticket for the other company before boarding. However, since the Fuji Excursion train runs directly to Kawaguchiko as a special service, you can settle the fare at the station where you disembark. However, if you take a train that doesn’t run directly from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko, you will need to get off at Otsuki Station, buy a ticket, and then board the Fujikyu Railway. Be sure to book your bus or train to Mt. Fuji as early as possible, and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji!
Hello Thanks for the informative video. I am planning on visiting Japan in early march and was thinking of taking a day trip to kawaguchiko, I will be taking highway bus from shinjuku. I wanted to stop over to visit chureito pagoda and oshino hakkaiand head to kawaguchiko. so if i take the highway bus, what are the station i must get off and get back on? And what all ticket i must purchase for this day trip?
Hi😉Lobsang-sanThank you for your comment! The nearest bus stop to Chureito is Chuo EXPWY Shimoyoshida. I believe there is also a bus service from Kawaguchiko Station to Oshinohakkai. Additionally, there is a tourist information center at Kawaguchiko Station where you can obtain pamphlets and other information about traveling to Mt. Fuji. Have a nice trip!😉
Hi may I know if I bought the ticket to Kawaguchiko station but got down at Shimoyoshida station to visit the Arakurayama sengen park, can I still take the train thereafter using the same ticket? or I have to purchase a new ticket? Understand that the Fuji Excursion train only has 3 timing per day, does the Fujikyu line operates for the whole day like a normal subway station? Thank you.
Konnichiwaxingyuesg-san😁Your ticket determines if you can make a stopover. Most tickets become invalid once you get off the train. If you bought a one-way ticket from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko, it won't work after you get off. So, get a new ticket from Shimoyoshida to Kawaguchiko. Fujikyu Line has fewer trains than Tokyo, so please check the schedule before sightseeing😉 Here's Kawaguchiko Station's timetable www.fujikyu-railway.jp/station/timetable.php?no=18 Enjoy your trip to Mount Fuji!🗻
With JR pass, trains might be cheaper (with a transfer) over all to go to Kawaguchiko and lakes? Without JR pass, bus is better and convenient imo. What does it look, like, lakes and Mt. Fuji, later Dec during xMas time?
Hi😊Jamescc-san! Thank you for watching❤The Fujikyu Express fare remains the same throughout the year, so the extra charge you pay when using the JR Pass is always the same. If you choose to ride the Fuji Excursion without a pass, the fare will be 200 to 400 yen higher from December 28 to January 5, depending on the day. When it comes to Christmas, it is not a holiday in Japan, so there is no fare increase during this period👍Have a wonderful trip!😉
During winter, Mt. Fuji is as beautiful as ever, with its snow-covered summit. Albeit the lake freezes during winter, I don’t recommend walking or skating on it because the layer of ice is very thin. Here, you can enjoy activities like skiing and soaking in hot springs.
Hindeckersightseer-sanThank you for your comment again😁I filmed this video on April 11, 2023. The cherry blossoms around Lake Kawaguchi are said to be in full bloom from early to mid-April each year. I hope this information is helpful for your travels.😉
Hi Ruben-san! 🌸 Thank you for your comment.😊 If you have a Japan Rail Pass and you're using the Fuji Excursion Express, taking a local train from Shimoyoshida station to Kawaguchiko station, and paying with an IC card, then yes, the total fare should be 1,885 yen as you mentioned. However, if you choose to use other Fujikyu limited express or ordinary trains, the fare may vary. For more detailed information on fares, please check the Fujikyuko website. If you are getting off at an intermediate stop, be careful not to forget your belongings. At the departure point and the final destination, the driver will likely open the compartment door, but if you are getting off at an intermediate stop, you might need to open it yourself. There are buses from Kawaguchiko Station and Mt. Fuji Station to Yamanakako.
However, I couldn't find any timetable other than in Japanese, and the bus schedule may change, so it would be better to check at the tourist information center at Kawaguchiko Station.

Thank you for watching my video.
• some hotels in Kawaguchiko have free shuttle buses from the station to the hotel
• if you want to see Sakura at Chureito Pagoda, it’s better to go from sunrise. After 9am the line was up to 4hrs+ long and harder to take good pictures without crowds. I had lots of space and freedom from 6:30am - about 8am with no crowds
• once the Pagoda observation deck becomes busy, there is a 5 or 10 minute limit you can stay before they tell you to get off and new people can enter. If you come early enough or in the evening, there is no line
• besides the Pagoda, you should rent a bike for a day or half day and ride around the nearest lake, Kawaguchi. There are many other Sakura spots when riding around the lake and also the nice view spot, Oishi Park.
• many people don’t know FujiQ Highland is free to enter unlike Disneyland or Universal Studios. You just pay for individual rides or purchase a day pass
• JR railpass doesn’t work from Kawaguchiko station to Otsuki station because it’s a private line (Fujikyuko-sen / 富士急行線)
These are some tips I remember for now and I can update later if I remember more. Hope this helps! 😊

HiAbner-san😉Thank you for your comment. I'm delighted that my video proved helpful to you!
During the New Year's holiday, both trains and buses will be operational.

Fuji!

Hi😉Lobsang-sanThank you for your comment! The nearest bus stop to Chureito is Chuo EXPWY Shimoyoshida. I believe there is also a bus service from Kawaguchiko Station to Oshinohakkai.
Fujikyu Line has fewer trains than Tokyo, so please check the schedule before sightseeing😉

However, if the trunk is already full of luggage, they may refuse to accept yours when you board. So I highly recommend getting on board early to secure space for your luggage👍 Have a wonderful trip!🥰
Wow.. Thank you so much for prompt reply and making a phone call to check.. Really appreciate it and have subed to your channel 😀
@@hahalim Woow! Arigatou😁Seeing Mount Fuji in person is truly wonderful. Enjoy the experience!❤
As much as i enjoyed the train the bus really is the better option as its cheaper, faster, and doesn't get delayed from people committing suicide by jumping into oncoming trains.
HiWow, HYDRAdude-san, you know very well😱Unfortunately, the Line on which that express train runs, is famous for the number of people who jump in front of moving trains! Especially in May. I plan on taking the bus the next time I go to Mt. Fuji since I can’t purchase a Japan Rail Pass.😅Thank you for your comment!!
Bus ♥️
