Very few people recognise that the MSR wind burner isn't just a jetboil or brukit, or one of the many heat exchanger systems. The burner is a completely different type. The MSR wind burner is the only gas stove which gives a decent boil time without a wind shield in windy conditions. So you just plonk it down in the open, boil water and done. If I had shelter, like a bothy or tent porch then no need for a windburner. Just take a pocket rocket or similar to save weight and money. So the only stoves I own that work reliably in the open are the MSR windburner, alpkit koro with an added windscreen, solo stove twig burner, Mkettle, and speedster meths system (which includes a full height windscreen). Jetboil or brukit - nah...
Yep! The boil time is really fast!! Unfortunately I’ve done something to my can and everything tastes funny now. I know that’s not a big deal but I do like a good clean cuppa. Most of the time I take a mini burner and a pot which all stack inside each other. Saves weight and space
