In bar 29, those first lower Bb's shoudl have been a triplet, somehow missed that... If you would like the PDF for this solo, we reserve that for our amazing Patrons (and much more) on here: www.patreon.com/sharpeleventranscriptions
every time i hear eric play it just makes me happy. such an incredible soloist with amazing phrasing and melodic lines. as a tenor player for 6 years, i love to analyze his work and see how i can implement it into my style.
It's a shame this recording isn't on a streaming service. I'm not loving his style or the production on the albums I've just listened to. Verging on 'Smooth Jazz' in the Kenny (not Garrett) G way. Make an album like this track, Eric. You've got IT!
@@alexwillats I know what you mean, always had a bit the same feelings about it. But I do dig one of his first albums "Crossroads" where there is a lot of vibrant and super intensive fusion, with good compositions , players (Chick Corea, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Patittuci etc) and also a very cool straight forward hard bop-like tune. I guess that was in his early "GRP" label period, afterwards he signed to Smooth labels and produced only that kind of music, but my hope is that he will record one day another album in the "Crossroads" vibe, he surely has some amazing abilities to make it special!
I just want to be able to play the first 23 seconds...but only been playing alto for about two weeks...Eric do you give lessons to old farts like me...6'7" 250 lbs 55 year old wanna be like you. love it and thanks for the great work here guys
Pretty amazing. Thanks for transcribing this. I feel like I'll be analyzing this for many weeks to come. Also, for some reason, after listening to this I'll need a cigarette and a martini.
I’ve searched Tidal to see if he had a high quality recording of this song for streaming but did not find it. Does anyone know if he released it? Yes I can stream UA-cam but I’d love to have it as a track!
I might be going crazy, but measure 68 doesn’t sound like a Bb Maj7, and there’s an added 11th as well, are you sure that’s not like a Db9 chord of some sort? Other than that, stellar work! Trying not to be nit picky :)
You are right about it being it a concert Db ,I just double checked and it's a Db6 they specifically play there, but that would make it for alto Bb6 because ut's an transposing instrument (and this sheet accordingly). Maybe that's the confusion, this is an Eb-sheet, so it works for an alto sax.
You'll get there! Play every day and focus on pushing yourself without setting too large of goals. Consider getting a beginner sax method book that has play-alongs to help you learn to read music as well as make incremental progress.

At 4:41, I hear a D natural on that gliss down from the F# instead of a D#.

As far as I know, no. But you can maybe research it. But I don't think he has no album published with Bobby Shew
Hello! How you play paradiddle? (da-ga-di-ga) or how? Sorry for my english

@@SharpElevenMusic Ah, gotcha, I'm a percussionist so these are things that never occur to me
@@musicdev Obsolutely very understandable, nice to see a percussionist a saxophone solo! :)
I can't read music yet but I'm trying.. I wished someone had it as C G E F F F#// E C But can't have everything.
