Whoa Nelley, 1987 and going to Heaven. One of the few Nissans that I like. You meant "Space Saver spare tire". LOL. We got the VIN, we win: JN1 for Japanese made Nissan passenger car, H for 3.0L (VG30E) V6 without turbocharger, Z for 300ZX, 1 for model change, 4 for two seater, S for standard restraint system (manual seat belts), 7 is a check digit, H for the 1987 model year, X for Hiratsuka, Japan assembly (aka Nissan Shatai) and the rest is the production sequence. The Shatai plant is a contracted plant with Nissan and opened in 1949 and started a partnership with Nissan in 1951. There were 33,282 cars produced for the 1987 model year. We (barely) got the tag, we can brag, K for T-top car, H for 3.0L V6, non-turbo (VG30E), L for left hand drive, Z31 for 300ZX, X for GL-L model, U for USA destined model, 463 for Dark Gray Metallic exterior paint (of which there were 4,092 painted this color for the 1987 model year), T for Black interior trim (of which there were 16,940 with this trim color in 1987), and the rest of the codes have to do with the transmission and rear gear ratio which should be 3.70:1 for this model. Whoa Nelley, Nissan Z and it's for me. Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto, and this one has to go. Parts made in Japan and ready for the trash can. That's it, time to quit. Painted gray and soon to go away. VG30E and it's over for thee. T-top took a big flop. VIN code "JN1" and it's done. Please don't get squished, because some out there, perhaps not Benny, but yes, the Google Man are going to be very, very, very, very, very pissed.
Back.in 1997 I worked for Nissan n one day the mechanics called me into their shop because they know I like the.older z n I saw a gold one real clean n a vietnamese owned it n it had stickers from.grand auto on the key hole n fire 🔥 flames stickers on the side fenders n steering weel cover n stickers on the side from 1980s 🇺🇲

I liked the Z from the "Fairlady" all the way up to the 280, but I never owned one, because I didn't think I would fit at 6'2", and I had to buy more "practical" cars. Still, it's a shame to see it there.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 : Am not a fan, sad it was some what a quick car for it day ! I stand statement’s I have made many Americans are wasteful ! Great video Benny ! 🪦⚰️🪦⚰️
Benny you had tobe grown then. They were good cars. Sharp. Quick to. From 1976 to 1989. Those straight 6s never gave problems but those that came afterwards with the twin turbos were so problematic! Ugh!
For me it's the looks. I really like the styling of the 70s 240/260/280. The 80s just didnt do it for me and I grew up in that time. The later 300z of the 90s is just better looking to me. I guess it's just an 80s thing and me not liking too much from the Japanese auto markers from that time in terms of sports cars.
Hey bubby when wee getting some swapmeetings videos I know u have one up of cars for sale mate I do injoy them but miss the swapmeetings lol hopefully u do then soon thanks god bless

After I made the video I did think about that it may not necessarily have been a military member. I'll try to remember green means non military 👍
Hey Benny looks like it's winking.😂
Pickings are slim 🫠🍚 🔥
Agreed 👍
One of the few Nissans I actually like.

I’m 6”4 and I got a z31 I fit just fine lol
😊 donut
God! I always wanted one of those! Was it a turbo?
It wasn't a turbo model
No. This was a VG30E, non-turbo. The turbo engine was the VG30ET, this was not one of them.
I get why it's there called rotsuns for a reason. If its not a manual turbo there a pain to work on grab that radio its worth quite a bit on ebay.

They should have kept the Datsun name here
