I love your reviews, they always give me enough information to make my choice...I am about to pull the pin on a 2024 Tmax...I bought the 125 Tricity a number of years ago because of watching, and rewatching your review...👍
I assume the other brands are relevant in Portugal. In the US, even if they may exists (possibly under different names..) noone as of yet knows of them. TMax isn't for sale in the US either, but at east people know what it is.
Great review. Glad you like it, bought one two weeks ago. Done 1000 KM and booked in for its post run in service . Downsized from large touring bike (BMW R1200RT 2014). Not missing it. This is so much fun.
You are exactly right - he finds the smile spot in every bike and describes it really well. There is no nit picking or false scepticism - just an open mind for the ride he is reviewing.
From a purely pragmatic POV, it works well. Parallel twins with CVTs aren't exactly a match for Japanese I (and V) 4s, Italian and American Twins, British triples nor German I6s as far as excitement is concerned, though..... If "touring" involves a lot of actual dense Euro/Asian city exploring, this is likely hard to beat. But for endless roaming around wide open Western US states, or Alpine passes, or Mongolia and Kazakhstan, I'd rather have a setup with some more some intrinsic excitement than a CVT droner.
Nice review. I got the 2019 model second hand as I could justify the 15k price tag. I am a not a fan of the tft screen personally. I like the analogue dials. The older model is 530cc, the 2021 model was first 560 model and that one just has some tweaks to it. I couldn't be happier with my 2019 dx. I'll wait a few years to see if looks change and more powerful. Imagine someone smashing the screen and the cost replacing that 😢
The thing is, I´d much rather have the Forza 750. 12.000 vs 15.000 Euros is a big difference plus the Honda has the lovely DCT. The one gripe I have is that the Honda is already sold out for the entire year while there are still tons of Tmax´s at my local dealer. In the next 3-4 years when I get my first solid paychecks I want to buy the Forza, until then, my Xmax 300 I just bought will certainly satisfy my needs
Get the NC. It's cheaper. And, except for the scooter's added protection for pant legs, a better ride. Storage is no worse, and the NC carries the side panniers (same ones, I believe) narrower than the Forza and XAdv. The NC also has "normal" tire sizes. he XAdv does have noticeably improved suspension over the other two. But is freaking HUGE: As in BMW 1200GS Huge! If all three were the same price, I'd still get the NC. It's just more versatile. Unless commuting on wet roads in pants you don't want muddied, is a big thing. Then, the scooter format (even if it is a motorcycle underneath) is unbeatable.
@@paulnorman8274 the NC is a great bik, decent value for money but has inferior suspension (at least front end wise) and brakes to the Forza 750 plus a worse TFT screen. I bought the Forza. I also ride a GS....
@@robertmarsh3588was planning to buy the forza but am now considering the tmax 560 tech max instead. No chain, heating, electric windscreen, cruise control....
Tmax has always been missing a bigger engine version, like a 70bhp which is an issue with most scooters. Manufacturers have decided to keep scooters power limited. Also at that asking price you can get proper new 1000cc bikes, the only benefit of the Tmax being the insane for two wheel standards amount of storage. Add a big top box and you have all the storage you'll ever need.
Above some rate of speed, something for your knees to grab onto starts to matter. As does a more "in-control" riding position. And longer-travel rear suspension. And perhaps larger wheels..... The TMax is already fast. The Forza may be even faster, but if it wasn't for it's huge parts-commonality with more overtly motorbike'y scoots, I doubt the added 10-odd HP would warrant the loss of all those potential A2 license-holders. Most people who bother getting a full license, don't do it to buy any scooter, no matter how brilliant.
@@paulnorman8274 *23 odd HP, I said it would be nice to have a more powerful version available so no loss of A2 customers and I doubt those are many anyway, not only because the full and A2 licence exams are identical, but also because the Tmax is too expensive for most of those age limited A2 riders. The Forza is a step in the right direction, but don't know how much faster it is. Adventure bikes have upright riding positions so the riding position is no issue, the only thing I'm going to agree with is the possible need for the knees to grab onto something, but at 70bhp that need is not crucial.
@@paulnorman8274 in any case TMax is a nice vehicle but I would understand its asking price if it had that extra 23bhp. I don't understand the price of scooters in general, they are low vfm.
@@infinitydreamzz 70hp means 200kph. Hit a good sized bump, or even just a big wind gust, or both at the same time..., and its nice to be a bit more anchored than when sitting on a barstool.....
@@paulnorman8274 I can make a few counterarguments to that point, but for the sake of brevity I'll give you only one: the Tmax has a top speed of 180kph.
I have the 2019 Tmax 530. I coudnt justify ( afford ) the 560 but, the 530 is still an amazing motocycle. I dont see it as a scooter at all. Its so fast and great in the twisties. Great review btw.👍
Great review, funny and informative. I love my 2019 Tmax DX - best bike I've ever had. English is my one and only language - and man I have to say that your command of English is better than mine..!
😂😂so a 125cc with full cases set and pillion is good for touring?? I don't believe it

Muhhhahahaaa! It will never feel like a motorcycle. It's not about the power, you can put 1000 hp in a scooter it still won't have the riding position of a motorbike, you got nothing between the legs, nothing to hold on to, the whole point of motorcycling is the riding position. A T-Max you drive, a motorcycle you ride.

Excellent review. Your bike safety skills were noticed and appreciated.
Given the big engine, smoothness, bells and whistles, plus weather protection and overall levels of comfort would this not make an excellent tourer?

Cager, please read the manual before reviewing! Great video and always fun riding with you.......Sal : )
Thank God I will buy one for myself
best review for the tmax!❤
Once you see that ocean views near Cascais you'll never forget them :) Great review, thanks.
What do you think about honda's X ADV in comparison with the yamaha?
Bought mine today with a load of accessories.
I hope you get the chance to review the Forza 750 soon as I would love a comparison between the two maxi scooters.

awesome video .. it makes me want to buy one of these T-Max!! What is the difference between tmax and xmax?
Test the adv350 if available
Hey Cager, do the Burgman 650 next
is this the tech max?
15 000 is to much
Now in 2023 it’s 16300€
So….. Remains the question, would you buy it?
Honda ADV 350 pleaseeeee
The engine produces 35kW, so yep, basically the upper A2 limit.
Good Price :D :D :D

Honda forza 750,,,is the shit ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,@
high engine temperatures under the plastics makes driving in city uncomfortable. such a big engine and bad heat dissipation
Dude talk more about the bike, we want to know about basic things, you dont even mention the brakes...
Yeah. No walk around either. We didn't even see how it looks.
Brakes works well ;) look from 1:10...
