The kid had a demonic assassin squad hired to kill him, so him being just as bad as them makes sense.
I sense that kid will have his vengeance against them cuz he's going to hell anyway so, foreshadowing. He spent some time with them so I assume he knows where their office is at.
No he didnt. They were supposed to kill the mother. Luna just lied so they would kill him.

Erica Lindbeck is just an awesome voice actor in general. But yeah, hearing her in this characterization is definitely a polar opposite of some of her other characters and as such... just a treat

Although, to be fair, it reminds me that the voice of Twilight Sparkle, Tara Strong, also did the voice of Lollipop Chainsaw's Juliet Starling.
The funny thing to me is that BOTH Loona and Millie are voiced by her, so you can see both personalities in the same short.

I thought that Helluva Boss was more coherent than Hazbin Hotel, this had less distracting background characters and an easy to understand dynamic between all the characters. But I definitely understand the character-latching problem, a problem I had with Looking for Alaska (I hate that book), if you can't relate to or root for anyone it feels a bit hollow. Moxxie is the one I latch onto in this series, I like the ones who are done with everyone because no one else has any sense, I see him as the straight man in this comedy. While in Hazbin, Vaggie is probably the closest to being the straight man but I don't particularly like her very much (her frustration and reactions aren't as funny).

Yeah, Moxie is my fave followed by Millie (forgive me if I spelled it wrong). Loona is your typical bad girl, a character you want to watch n enjoy, but not want to meet in person(that could just be me), while Blitzo is ok but he's too forward and eager for connection like they said

Bridgette Lair I have to agree with you. The story was more focused on these characters instead of showing everything at once so the jokes and delivery landed much better. I personally think this would make a wonderful series while Hazbin Hotel an intriguing movie to finish the plot. ‘Cause doing a show based on misfit characters living together to earn a better afterlife is kinda going to the ‘Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends’ route with Angel as Bloo.

I appreciate how candid both of you guys were on this one. It's totally fine to not like the vid. For me, though, I like that the relationships between the characters is already established, as opposed to Hazbin's pilot spent its time establishing all the relationships.
I will agreee that the cutaways got a bit excessive, though. I liked them all, especially on subsequent watches, but it can definitely get a little overwhelming on first watch.
I actually really like it's nonlinear structure although I do hope that the main show doesn't do that, because while it's not a problem for me here, it really is easy to screwed up later on. But yeah for me it's just real stupid funny here; the fact that that entire hospital detour happened the way it did and then suddenly the commercial jingle concludes, that sudden realization that *this whole thing* was still part of the commercial. That's just funny to me. The second one is a little more awkward but it kinda serves the purpose of introducing Stolas who I assume will be a reoccurring character, as well as providing a simple explanation for how I.M.P. gets to Earth. There really wasn't any elegant place to put that in the main plot and it still made me laugh good and hard so yeah, no complaints. "Sorry, I fucked your husband." XD
Oh trivia, Stolas isn't an OC, he's a mythic figure in the Ars Goetia, a medieval text of demonology describing Hell's royal family among other subjects. Stolas is a Great Prince and is illustrated as an Owl with long legs and wearing a crown. The more you know.

The symbol on Blitzo’s head is actually a reference to the Invader Zim logo. Which goes along with Richard Horvez, the voice of Zim, Who provides the voice for Moxie
Have you checked the rest of the series? It is definitely worth the watch, and you definitely learn more and become more invested in the characters as *people* as the show progresses. It has become my new favorite thing.
I really enjoy your reaction videos :) You actually give your fair opinions and criticisms of the video as opposed to just watching and laughing and ending the video (which I've seen in a lot of reaction videos).
I feel like whether you like Hazbin or Boss better is very much depended on your taste, since they are both pretty good.
Boss has a lot of cut away jokes and a sitcom vibe, where Hazbin is more linear and grander.
I like Hazbin a bit better, but I could see if you liked Boss better
I have an extremely strong empathic reaction to Charlie embarrassing herself, so as much as I love Hazbin, Boss is easier for me to watch.

Yeah i prefer Hazbin. Boss just felt a bit slow or lacking or dull. Nothing really catches me like the musical craziness of Charlie.

I like, going back to the Hazbin Pilot, in the crowd among the news station, seeing Blitzo is beside Charlie when she has her arm around the crew member.
It is an imp but I don't think it is Blitzo. But the imp does have similar markings to him.

Woah! This is the first time I've heard someone else agree with me on the show *Friends*. I could never get into it because it disturbed me how they treated each other and I was constantly worried for society watching it and thinking that was a normal way to treat your friends and family.
Some might call me a 'social justice warrior' because I worry about the effects of media on people and I consider vicious behavior toward one's friends or bystanders on TV shows to be far worse than any depicted violence as I've seen too many fellow high schoolers think that kind of thing is acceptable and then they mimic the 'Jerky Boys' in hanging out a car window and shouting at little old ladies we're driving past, etc. I think vicious behavior should only be in adult-rated media so that kind of behavior doesn't get normalized like it did with too many kids I knew back in high school.
Helluva Boss on the other hand? I expect all these creatures to behave that way in a lower hell realm. There's no pretense here that these are supposed to be normal people or friends. This is a just a group of imps and a hell hound, so I laugh the whole way through and enjoy it for what it is, an adult cartoon that isn't trying to normalize the behavior of demons and demon dogs.
Fun fact did you know that the one that voices Zim on invader Zim is the one that voices moxie
if you ever return to reacting HB is really incredible and theres a LOT of character development in rather rapid time! By episode 2 in particular people tend to latch onto the emotional side of the show! VERY fun mix of emotion and fun!

Honestly? I liked this a bit more than Hazbin. Yes, it's confusing the first time you watch it and some of the jokes are very edgy, but it's very silly and cartoony and it doesn't take itself very seriously and I love that. The thing with Hazbin is... it wanted me to care about the characters and it kinda failed to make me care that much? It's hard to tell why. I still like it though. But maybe this just made me laugh more (khm Stolas khm).
Or maybe I just had higher expectations for Hazbin because it was that hyped.

@@CaptainCFalcon Uh, I can try. Well, the characters we are supposed to sympathize with the most are Charlie and Vaggie, right? Exspecially Charlie. And I guess my brain just can't accept the fact she's so Disney-princessy and pure? I mean, it's just the pilot, we'll find out more about her. But as she is now, I don't like her as a protagonist. I know she's coded the why she is for a number of reasons (one of them being comedy), but still. As I said, I do believe she will get better.

I don't think we were really "supposed" to sympathize with characters, except for Charlie's failures in life. I can see where you're coming from, but being able to sympathize with any characters from a cast of people who got sent to hell doesn't sound like something you ought to want.

I agree about the editing. The cutaways were really confusing and took me several rewatches to get it. Hazbin was a little too fast, specifically with frame rate. Helluva did better with the frame rate.
How you managed to turn an 11 minute video onto almost 30 mins is beyond me but aye at least you have genuine reactions unlike other UA-camrs who sound like they're forcing laughs

Honestly I'm in between. I found it pretty funny (and a lot more crud) but yeah I agree with Katie the second the kid turned into an ass I was Like, Okay dial it back a little, but other than that both Hazbin and Helluva Boss are pretty damn entertaining (pun intended.) Also may I say as a long time subscriber to both Katie and you (Oh and Mark and Stacey) I love seeing Silver Screams get more subscribers, and seeing more content on this channel. I get where you're coming from, but like somebody else pointed out, I think the scene was also the kind of show why the kid was on The Hit List. Think about it why would somebody who died and what the hell go out of their way to specifically target this child by sending a squad of demon assassins after him?
Until there is a confirmed reason why, my head Cannon is that the kid was a piece of shit who probably bullied another kid into committing suicide. That suicide kid got to hell and saw the I.M.P add on TV, hearing the "kids die for free" part which was perfect because he didn't have any cash so we called them up and put the head out on his bully leading to the events that we just saw.
Like I said that's my own personal headcanon for the scenario
I only watch reactions on these shows because I'm craving more, I've watched both piolets more times than I can count and although it never gets tiring I want more variety and since I've probably sank in 40 or so hours into watching both. I have a problem lmao

I didn't mind the editing personally as this was effectively a one-shot and it felt like peeks into possible future eps (sort of like a clip show of sorts), but agree that the pacing really wouldn't work well in a several episode series

I definitely enjoyed Hazbin's pilot a lot more than this one, but they're both promising and I'd love to see both of them continued. I think I personally just got a bit more invested in the story and characters in Hazbin, I don't have a solid idea of where things will go with the story and I love that level of mystery. Meanwhile, Helluva's pilot was fun and all, but I guess I just had a bit more difficulty getting invested since it's something that feels more like a sitcom. And some of the characters in here feel a little one-note
I don't think it's fair comparing the flash back's to Family Guy. Those cutaways have no purpose other then to be funny in the moment (and I never find them very funny). Like "Remember that time I fought Darth Vader" and cut to Peter having a thumb war with Vader and winning only for Vader to force flip the table and start choking Peter. That's dumb and has no place in the continuity and will never be referred to again.
These were meant to actually world build and set up the characters. They had meaning and depth and showed us how the I.M.P. company is structured and best of all how Moxxie and Millie are in their home life while dealing with their super stalker boss shipping them hard! True, the flashback within a flashback were a little hard to follow but I still loved it.

For me I guess it depends on the strength of the set up and how clean the jokes are. No joke. I’ve found that comedy that relies on shock value and vulgar language just isn’t written well. Don’t get me wrong there’s always an exception, but if you have strong writing to start it turns out better.
