Wow. Your video will probably forever be the reference for this model. Congratulations for this build. It is impressive! According to the slogan "Learn from the best" I'll try to build mine at this level. And I also have light buckets and a cockpit with a driver figure to make the whole thing even more insane. It probably won't drive an inch, but it will look nice on the shelf.
Watched again probably 5th time 🤷🏻♂️ just getting round to this kit to complete the trilogy. Great to look back for tips you missed ect when actually building 👍
I got the white version from Tower Hobbies in the US. Total was like $120 once all discount coupons were applied. In the states it's the green/gold version that's the rarity. Nice job on the finish...but you gotta run it...can't let it sit on the shelf. That's the whole point!
Have you done or plan on doing a detailed tutorial on how to apply decals to RC bodies? Part 1 of this series on painting the body was very informative! Thank you!
It's not colour choices you would pick normally that's for sure Michael. The funny thing is now its finished, because it's so different I kind of like it in the collection.
Hey Gavin, nice Job 😄. Tamico is offering light buckets and light decals for this Mercedes. There are some more light buckets for different bodys Like the Porsche GT2 or the Opel calibra
I have been looking forward to this video, the car looks stunning! I will be giving this kit a miss though, I'm too lazy to put that amount of effort in 😁.
Great video as always and the quality of your painting and decals is superb. Not too sure why the TT01 & TT02 chassis' have a tough time on your channel though. Personally I think they're excellent and for the price of them and the amount of mods you can do I don't think you can go far wrong with a TT type chassis. Not every one can afford the rare or the more technical types chassis'.
Yes you are correct, nothing wrong with a TT01 or TT02 at all and a great place to start for sure. For me it's just I've built so many over the last few years on the show, I find them about as exciting as watching paint dry to build these days. As these bodies take so much time and effort, having something a bit different underneath makes them more interesting. An example is the Opel V6 I build last month on the TA02 chassis, that was great fun.
TT chassis is little more than a display model that drives, and for even lower prices you can get decent Chinese RTR touring cars that are technically far superior. Absolute waste of plastic.
I've actually built the white debis version of this kit, but I've painted it all black like the road going version and painted the wheels in silver. That looks brilliant as well. If anyone is interested in the remaining debis livery stickers, let me know!
should probably have backed the gold with silver, instead of white. I'd vager thats one reason the gold on the body looks odd. The car looks great regardless, its a really striking looking merc! :D
I just had a better look at it and yes you're correct, it's actually not that much easier really. The only bit that would be easier is you paint the green first and then blow over the full body in white. With the green and gold you need to paint the green, back it in white, then put down the gold before going over in white again. Looking at it I would probably still paint the rims and spoiler just the same so all in all not much in it really. On thinking about it a bit more, you would have to back the white version in silver before you paint it black so when all said and done, the two cars are about the same. That's just put me off getting the white version now hehehe.
How goes it I bought my fauther a bottle of that because I thought it looked cool he seen price and returned it for extra normal bottles lol .take care have great day to u and the family
Looks amazing gavin top work haven't even started the body on mine cannot get the line right for the gold 😪 scared of getting it wrong and making a mess of it 😫
Hi Gavin , that’s the dogs dangly bits all right. Looks great with all the attention to detail, well worth the effort. Do you have the kit number for the white merc, i fancy one of those, just to be different. Awesome video. 😎👍👍👍🇬🇧
Hi Gavin, that turned out nice! Well done and certainly the extra effort to glue, fill, sand and paint the rest spoiler is worth while. Also worth making the extra effort painting the wheels the matching gold, great work. One question though, the primer? Which primer did you use? I thought I saw a flash of a Halfords canister? Was it a Halfords plastic primer you used, or the Tamiya primer? If so, does the Halfords primer and Tamiya paints work together without any paint reactions? Take care, great looking Mercedes-Benz 190E ☺️😉

It’s a good looking one that’s for sure. It stands out as it’s a bit different.
CONGRATULATIONS TAMIYA......PERFECT BODY CAR ......NICE DETAILS

That looks Mint, superb paint job.
Thanks Gary 👍
Making payments on a full size 1992. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome job, well done.
Thanks Gavin! Great tips. decal hide all sins. Another great video.
Top work, Gav
Attention to detail is first class. Definitely master craftsmanship quality.
Your efforts paid off in the results which are superb Gavin! (I'll have some of whatever you were drinking in the intro too please...)
I think it's far nicer in the green and gold. Nice job, I really admire your attention to detail, it makes so much difference.
Amazing work done on that shell
Thanks
Awesome paint job. Great detail. Love it👍🏻👌🏻

I will drive it once for some footage but I've driven a bucket load of TT01 & TT02 chassis cars so it's nothing special.
Wow you went all out on this one Gav! Looks amazing. Some great tips in there. Brought back memories of my build from a few years ago.
Glad you enjoyed it NIck

Great job looks awesome.
Wow dude, that Merc looks freaking awesome! The extra effort you've put in to that bodyshell has seriously paid off, excellent work mate!!
Thanks Barry :)
I’ll eat my words previously……it looks sweet now👍🏻
It's not colour choices you would pick normally that's for sure Michael. The funny thing is now its finished, because it's so different I kind of like it in the collection.
Great work ! According to my modelling skills it would be 2 years of hard work without these amazing results !
Thats how I feel when I start a rally or DTM style kit lol
looks so good id love this or the old school 58108 version
Looks nice…😍

Thanks for the info!

Great work. You really went the extra mile on the body, wheels, grill, etc. You have a lot of patience.

My favorite is the spoiler and the window decals And the grill ima buy a mst rc I'm putting a Aston Martin db7 on I'd say it looks great
I still have my original one from the early 90s
Nice idea on the grill - but the real thing was chrome :P Agree with the rest though :)

This was a great video, I love how you "as you said" went the extra mile with the details and it payed off. Well done Gavin.
Number 19 looking at your video
Getting closer to the elusive no 1 lol

Hi Gavin, have you thought about doing a video on the best way to detail the driver figure? I'm reluctant to paint mine in case I mess them up.
I'm not good enough to show people how to paint a driver lol
😁👍
Tamico sells 3D printed light buckets for the MB 190E
Truly excellent job on that body. I'm curious though, you said the white version is easier to do; how so? It looks darn near the same to me.

🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very nicely done but I personally dont think the gold paint works.
Fair enough, it's definitely not one for everyone thats for sure.

Looks amazing gavin top work haven't even started the body on mine cannot get the line right for the gold 😪 scared of getting it wrong and making a mess of it 😫
If you look really carefully you can see the line for the gold area. It’s super faint but in the right light you can make it out.
@@RCKickschannel OK gavin I think I need new eyes 👀mate 😆

It was the Halfords plastic primer. I always use it and have not had an issue with the Tamiya paint.
What do you use for filler?
Car body filler
How much would you charge for finishing a body?
Was that Sauron in the beginning of the vid? lol
did you use gold leaf ?
No just as expensive Tamiya gold paint lol
Do I hear the Black Speech from Sauron?
Beautiful paint job sir. Do you by any chance paint bodies to order?
Hi Tom, Not really no as most of my time is taking up making RC videos for the channel.
@@RCKickschannel that’s cool. Just thought I’d ask :-)
Plus you can find pro painters that have amazing skills around.
It looks amazing but far to much work for me .
