20 PRO Tips For Decaying Winter

But on a real note, I hope these tips help you in some way! Do any of them nail the spot? Or do you have any of your own? Let me know!
Have you ever wanted to play solo in a game? Well, this is not the game for you! This game is punishing; it's horrific, it's TRAUMATIZING... and uh, fun to play if you have meat shields- PFFT I mean friends. I mean, what else are friends for?
Decaying Winter is a wave-based survival FPS game on Roblox. It consists of gathering supplies, praying you don't get killed at night, and then repeating the process. Albeit very scary and scary and... did I say scary? It's ultimately a GREAT GAME! I should log the amount of hours I've played because this game is addicting as hell.

If you’re wondering why there’s footage of me in a circle (helipad) defending from multiple angles, that’s because Decaying Winter has two game modes. The circle game mode (holdout) can be activated by typing /startholdout in the chat.

to explain a little with holdout:
Holdout is an endless gamemode in which players have to meet up at the middle now, using salvage to buy things to better their survival and their base. Looting time slowly get longer, the storm is faster and now does 15 damage, and there are boss waves every 10 waves. These boss waves are on one specific type of enemy and will become tougher as more waves go by. Crates are less scarce and base has a ton of them, but is guarded by loads of scavengers (and snipers and guards in later waves). Holdout does have a point in upgrades where you can buy four recruits to assist you, as well as a workbench, scrapper, ammo fabricator, and rations dispenser.
@@omnial holdout also is a harder verison of decaying winter, the rations you eat gives less hunger and thirst, you also the pros about it is the maximum is 2 morale. and guns are much more common.
@@Mirror944 Some things are balanced out, like the rations thing, they recover less but even with beans and colas you will get that green bar effect that slows hunger and thirst loss. There are also extremely shorter cooldowns between consumption.

Glad to see the game is back. Didn't think Zym and the others devs would give up with all the support from the fanbase though. (Sad to hear Red gave up on bringing it back though.)

@@Quvl red gave up cuz she admitted herself her coding is spaghetti and because she naturally is inclined to leaving projects dead in the air, contact and SOF is proof of this. red said last strandeds was the last update anyways, so it's not surprising she didn't agree to work on the reupload

Good tips but there was no tip to make your ping drop from 240k to 124 ping

after close to 2 years of complaining they Fixed our router Connection and now i can play decaying winter on low 80 ping

Extra Tips! (adding on to some of his)
Extra tip number 1: the same rule applies to your summons, such as apostle, sovereign, and mindflayer, you should always help out your summons, even if it is as simple as a push, or a heavy attack from safety.
Extra tip number 6: If all of your inventory slots are full, you can fix your arms to eat & drink, to get the buff without having to drop anything
Extra tip number 12: Enemies in the last stranded mode have VERY reduced hearing, and will not hear you pretty much no matter what, but can see their allies dying, so you might wanna pick off strong stragglers if you do not have ammo to spare.
Extra tip number 17: If you hit an enemy before they get laser'd by the turret, you will get their rations! just not the EXP.
u got any tips for.. idk what it is but like a words, health bar, basically everything is too big in my screen. The teamates health bar is literally 1/4 of my screen so i cant even see well. When i click t the map is so big its cover most of thing so its hard for me to drink or eat. When i at menu if i want to set something the words wont even disappear like its a bunch of words just overlapping each other. its have been really annoying.

@@whoami234 if you really wanted a fix, might want to hide ui, but that sacrifices some elements.
Extra extra tip 17: scavs marked with sov curse, always drop ration when he die by turret, even with u dint hit It (Technically)

You can also find Skinners with the throwing knives.
Skinners, when disguised, don't die to a single throwing knife, so it's pretty easy to tell.
Pro tip, pressing 0 will recharge your perk quicker

Not really a tip but, every perk is useful in its own way, don't listen to people who are telling you that your perk is bad. Some perks make great combos with others but the goal is to have fun. No perk is bad, it is how you play with it.

@@-poeiv we dont talk about damned, the only thing i can think of is resetting teamates health cause damned gets no morale, but damned pretty much has 4 morale already so yeaaah
@@nugenplayer2219 i believe damned would still be useful if youre experienced or have it on an alt staying at the safe zone so you dont immediately lose the game when everyone else dies during looting phase

2:15 You can also ping the Hidden that's slaughtering your entire team! "Behind you..." Cool, here's 5 pings exposing your exact location. Also Prophet's ability reveals the Hidden constantly.

Tip: blue stim and manic trait can make you full auto decimator especially with perks like vagabond automatic buff on swing speed.
Real tip: if you find a chained up women sobbing go up to her to hug her to make you have butterflies OUT of your stomach

As a Hivemind who's the go to for morale tanking when I play with my friends I have survived from night 1 (they really all got folded on night 1) all the way to night 10 without dropping from 4 morale once a few times
I hate it when I get randomly jumpscared by sledgers + ak47, the crouch doesn’t even seem to make you stealthier, just makes you evade the wire traps

1 melee tip that I have for new players that are struggling with melee combat (I'm not sure if this is already covered in the video since i'm too lazy to watch and pay attention for a whole 6 and a half minutes):
If you have a proper melee weapon or the honorable trait and you are up against a single melee scav, run up to it and parry it (press r) THE MOMENT you get close to it. Chances are, the scav will do a light attack and get stunned by the parry. If this happens, land a few light hits while it's stunned, retreat, wait for it to recover and approach you, and repeat.
And if the scav heavy attacks, just parry while it's preparing the heavy attack.
It's possible to use this against many scavs by running and jumping over them while parrying TWO TIMES (the first parry is to counter light attacks and the second parry is to counter heavy attacks) after that, look out for the parried scav that is furthest away from other scavs and land a few hits on it, and repeat.
If ur using drifter activate ur cloak ability u will hear creepy girl singing that may get u killed because of the song

As an executioner enjoyer, I severely disagree with no parrying. It is essential in being a little loser that doesn't get hit by a melee attack once. Just learn how to time it right.
the best strat for any night: just stay in the side room and block up the two entrances works really well
nah as long as you don't go too far back in the room, enemies don't come from the side door, only the outside one

Hi! So i’m here to ask something. Why do i have extremely high ping on decaying winter? I mean my ping is around 90ms on other games but on DW,Its around 500-1000. Sometimes 2000 or even 4000. Any idea?
which connection you have? ethernet?
dw is simply just a laggy game (for most) I don’t lag but I hear people say it’s laggy
depends on server regions. you can identify server regions based on pings. i have 80 every singapore server and 200+ every us server.

If your gun comes with a scope or sight of any kind, you can hold right click (on your mouse) to “aim down sights.” This will _typically_ give you greater control over where your bullets end up. Good luck!

I've seen some sort of knife that ppl start off the game with in multiple videos of this game and I'm wondering what it is if my question could be answered I would appreciate it😊
If it’s a knife when they shove, then that’s the ballistic dagger. If it’s a knife that they can use as a melee, then that’s a melee skin. There are multiple melee skins and you can get them by using “bonds” at the Quartermaster’s shop, who is unlocked once you reach level 100 for the first time (and prestige). Good luck!

Scanning castle with prophet is a good place to start (in the regular game mode). After that though, it’s up to you.
