You know, I just had an idea for this. You could play one of these who gets their power not from Mechanus, but from Santa's Workshop. Their abilities could summon Christmas elves and toys. You could play a character like Will Farrel's character from Elf, or any of the old Christmas Special movies, where for them it's Christmas every day of the year. Most of the spells you mention for swapping (banishment, disintegrate, counterspell) are already on the sorceror list, although CS has more spells known to learn them. Very cool that you get extra spells known - needs to be done for the other Sorc origins too!
I hadn't really considered this subclass before, but immediately I'm inspired by the Replicants of Bladerunner, and the Borg from Star Trek. Using this framework to build a character that sees the order of the multiverse and warps it to further his own goals. Neutral Evil Duergar, possibly one fighter level for armor and fighting style.
A barbarian went to see a wizard to help him solve his rage issues. The wizard exposed him to the order plane causing a constant rhythm to escort him and help him focus whenever he needs. As a result, the barbarian received magic powers, and now when he attacks recklessly he is able to control his movements and not leave himself exposed.
Please add the feature to switch aberrant mind psi spells and clockwork spells. As the expanded spell selection is the largest draw vs other sorcs, being able to customize them as per the book is one of the largest reasons to play them.
Ooooh love that u can get hex w Aberrant. As for eldritch blast u could take the custom lineage(DM allowing)(or variant human) give urself spell sniper and then u can get eldritch blast that ignores 3/4 cover along w that Hex damage.
Easiest way as a DM to get around the whole fix any object in a 30 ft cube just make the object larger than that 30 ft cube. Personally I would only use this if it would just bypass the whole campaign.
My clockworks soul sorcerer in UA testing caused DM.exe because the squishy kid sorcerer chased the boss around preventing him from making any attacks or do any real damage in the few cases he could.
I'd change that reliable talent so that for the time all rolls are a ten, so that it's more about order and balance and less about rolling high numbers.

I can already see a Rain Man type of character. The one that sees the world around himself as an equation, to the point of being quite unfit for staying alone among general population.
In the character builder, make sure Optional Class Features are turned on (red) under the Home section. Then under Class under Optional Feature Manager you can turn on Additional Sorcerer spells. This should give you access to all the new spells available for your character, and you can switch out whatever you want under the Spells section!

I like the concept, but I struggle with a characters origin story that make sense without making it seemed contrived.
There are basically nodes that leak elemental energy into the material plane, why not one that leaks from Mechanus near where you were born.
