Exploring Ol Pejeta Conservancy | Chimpanzee Sanctuary | Sanctuary Tambarare Room Tour

Ol Pejeta is an absolute gem of a place. It's the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to the last two northern white rhinos on the planet. 😲 The park entry fees ranges from 1,400-2,000/= kshs. The wildlife viewing is just unreal - I saw lions, lots of buffaloes, elephants, and so many other incredible animals up close.
The chimpanzee sanctuary was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Ol Pejeta! 🐵
The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is located right within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, and it's home to a group of rescued chimps who were previously used in research or kept as pets. Entrance fees to visit the sanctuary go towards their care and conservation efforts, which I was really happy to support.
If you're a wildlife lover like me, I'd highly recommend adding the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary to your itinerary. Seeing those chimps in person was a truly unforgettable experience. 🙌
As for where I stayed, Sanctuary Tambarare was the perfect base camp. It's a luxury tented camp situated right in the heart of the conservancy, so the animals are basically your neighbors. 🏕️🦒 The tents are super spacious and comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious. Resident Rates start at $350 - $520 USD per person per night depending on the season, which includes all meals, drinks, and game drives.
Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. The team at Sanctuary Tambarare really went above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing time. If you're looking for an epic African safari adventure, I can't recommend this place enough! 🦓🦏
