Wow, so much work done and still to go. Funny story, many, many years ago, my husband and I decided to redo basement space into a family room. We ripped up carpet, got rid of a wall, redid the bathroom and finished the ceiling. My husband and his friend hung drywall and the day they were to mud, I was out. When I came home, I took one look at the taping and almost lost my mind. It was awful. I never did any taping in my life, but I watched plenty of those do-it-yourself shows on tv to know this wasn't right. I went around, pulled all the taping off the walls, and set out to do it myself. I'm usually not one to pat myself on the back, but I did a darn good job. Even the inside corners were pretty good. I was very proud of myself for that. It still looks good today. So Tim, I really do appreciate the work you put into mudding and taping. It's not easy. Can't wait to see more.

I am so glad that your home is coming along. I helped my husband with dry walling when he built a room in our home. My job was to sand and sand and then prime and paint. I hope I never have to do that again, it is real hard work. Tim can do anything. TFS

A nice armoire next to the wood burning stove would be a great place to store your coats, shoes, etc., if you have the space. We used to live in a home that's almost 100 years old, now, and there wasn't much closet space. So I bought an old antique armoire and had it fixed up. I hung a rod across the inside and there was a long shelf at the top, and it worked just fine. The only challenge was that we had to hang our coats at an angle, but it was worth it. We put it in our dining room with our buffet. I got so many compliments on it. Nobody knew it was actually a coat closet!
P.S. I love to watch how your house is coming along. Keep up the good work!

Hi Val, I’m a vet tech and Max is looking a little thick in the waist. Beagles if they gain too much weight it’s hard for them to lose it. A good treat that’s low in calories is plain Cheerios. At the end of the day he’s your puppy but I hate seeing a dog with bad knees due to weight. Hope that came across as a helpful tip not a negative one. Love watching your videos! Can’t wait for the master bedroom/bathroom remodel.

I’d have middle kid to put a ceiling fan in his bedroom, whether they like it or not 😆 those two window walls and a wood stove behind the other wall is going to create different temperature zones all over the bedroom in cooler months,.. and even in the hot sunny months.
Times doing a great job. I helped a friend of my moms one summer with his drywall business. Boy, was it hard work. But a skill learned.

I used the corrugated metal around my fireplace and trimmed it with wood which I stained with a walnut gel stain looks great and works perfect

I'm remodeling my mom and dad' s home, which is my childhood home. We took old paneling out and have hung sheetrock so its good to watch Tim do his magic! Also just a question, will you be building a closet in this bedroom? Can't wait to see the next steps!

You could have use the concrete board that is used in the bathroom showers on the wall behind the fireplace and it can save you money and time.Every time you guys decide to film a video of the renovation Tim can finish cause he have to go someplace or do something else leasing us wanted to see the finish process

Glad you’re having your husband do the job we had it done after the hurricane and I got a ceiling that’s Poppin. They didn’t do a very good job. Is the wall behind the stove are resistant?
We've had a wood heater in 2 different homes. One was about 3 feet away from the wall and the other was set on the hearth of the fireplace. However, they still scare me. I was always scared of the wall catching fire... well except the one sitting on the hearth, I knew it was safe. 😊 So good luck with fire proofing that wall.
P.S. Would corrugated metal not heat up and therefore get the wall hot as well? I have no idea!! I'm just concerned about all of you. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Odd place to put a wood stove right by the front door, are you going to reposition it when you renovate that room. As it is you lose a lot of space where you could take off coats and shoes before entering into the home.
That's where the original owners decided to place the stove. We can't really relocate it at this point. It's not ideal, but we're working with it.

Hi Valerie , I have a pork chop recipe that I make and everyone who eats it really enjoys it and it’s easy to do so let me know if you would be interested in trying it
Ok for example you get 12 pork chops ( either bone in or bone out doesn’t matter) lay them out 6 at a time (in a.casserole or glass cake pan), season with salt pepper garlic salt, garlic powder, and seasoned meat tenderizer , flip them over and season the other side the same way, get your skillet with Crisco and a tab of butter , brown the first 6 chops then set them aside and do the same with the other 6 chops season both sides and brown., in the mean time make2 boxes of stove top pork stuffing ( follow box instructions) then in your casserole dish put 6 chops on bottom then spread pork stuffing over them, set the next 6 chops on top of the stuffing, cover dish with a big jar of Heinz pork gravy cover with foil and bake for 1 hour, the pork chops will be able to be cut with a fork.
