If Brisbane Olympics gets cancel will be so sad, coz the people of Brisbane don't know what they will be missing and the benifits from the games. I know this coz I witness and participate during the Sydney 2000 games it was a blast.
Our roads & public transport is trash and the Olympics isn't going to make any of that actually good.
@@brendanmichaelwelsh6260 Yea I realise that as well, but this is the politicians fault, they are way behind constructing and updating the ifrastructure not like Sydney when they got the Olympic, they started to upgrade and building the stadium as soon as possible unlike Brisbane because they're dicking arround with so much consultation which is rediculous.
@@brendanmichaelwelsh6260 Not to mention that our dying cbd would be another joke. King George Square, a slab of concrete. Metro, its just a fancy bus. Air Train, its a ridiculously overpriced train. Uptown, more like rundown. QSAC, more like ball sack. It would be kinda embarrassing if the old myer space is still vacant by the 2032 Olympics. Brisbane is just a big laidback country town on steroids disguised as a city. Brisbane is a sprawling car centric hellscape. People only come up here from south to retire anyways.Brisbane is ranked as one of the most boring cities in the world, its no wonder most of those you find on our international flghts are locals going overseas and maybe a handful of international students.
I hope it gets cancelled. I don't want to fund any of this rubbish. I get to fund it all and get no benefit from it. Sounds like a terrible deal.

Its all going ahead but yes, even if there was double the seats, it will be virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get a seat, and it will cost thousands. Note all the good seats will go to VIPs ONLY! Yes traffic congestion will be HORRIFIC too! The cheaper seats will be in crap locations, and u will see nothing, often big TV screens are erect so u just stand there watching TV. Best to stay home. Also the latest trend in opening and closing of games, is to have boring and primitive Aboriginal dances and sounds, this happened on the previous games at the gold coast. awful. Also the idiot labor state gov blocked and placed barriers in front of business disrupting their business during the games, It was a mess. The actual cost to review the gabba development is a few thousand, not millions, the reason for the high cost and budget blowouts are the contractors and builders are price gouging the gov. For example the cross river rail, a unskilled laborer, is paid $250k 5 time the normal rate. A toilet seat worth $150 is charged at $25,000, this is why it all costs so much...evil greed.

Almost every host of the olympics has horrible after effects. People displaced to build it and after it’s built almost always is abandoned. There are a few cases where the use of facilities kept up and repurposed but that is the exception to the rule.

The olympics are the kiss of death for any city, you only need to look at the history of post olympic after effects for all host cities. Time to bin the idea
Cheaper to fund an annual upkeep for Athens and host it there every time since it's theirs and will be cheaper if countries throw 50 million each or something at it.
