Saw Carlos perform at Red Rocks this summer. He was battling a bad back but still put on a great show full of energy, colors and transcendental music. Keep going, Carlos! May the Lord continue to bless you!
I believe the good Lord has kept him alive for a reason, whilst many of his peers have fallen in recent years. He is a LIVING legend in the truest sense of the word!
Love their first 3 lp's with Abraxas being the best of anything they ever did. I still play it today whenever I'm feeling sluggish and tired. A Guaranteed cure. Incident at Neshabur and Samba Pa Ti are my two alltime favorites from this album. A winner start to finish. Also Greg Rollie was a huge influence and contributor to their sound back then and it just wasn't the same when he and Neil Schon left to form Journey.
Winning is my song. It follows me everywhere, when I don't feel good I listen to it makes me feel good again. But All Santana's music is fantastic for me. I have seen them so many times in many countries, for that I am extremely fortunate to see the band and to see Carlos my guitar hero
I like your style! I recall from 1979, maybe a few things. I just returned from a family vacation in Hawaii & had purchased a really nice pair of work boots, I was really enamored with the Yamaha double cut away electric, (I purchased a '78 Les Paul Artisan instead, still have it). And had whatever Santana record was out at that time, where he was playing the Yamaha. There was some sort of good vibe synchronicity going on there. Carlos was my guitar god for months @ that time.
The reason I play the congas is because of Santana and a radio station called WRVR every Sunday was latin day and when they snuck in some of Santanas music I was hooked
Santana is definitely a favorite. The debut Santana, Abraxas, and Borboletta are my fave three albums of his. What’s extra cool is that, while my 12yo son doesn’t care for my favorite soul, rock, and singers/songwriters music from the late 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, he REALLY likes Santana. Loving your channel. Found it today while searching for Allman Brothers documentaries - on November 20th no less. From your video on Duane Allman I learned that his birthday was 11/20. It’s lovely that I just happened to want to listen to their music on his birthday. :-)
I had to do a re-upload on this video. Sorry for any inconvenience for those that already watched it.
Don't worry Doc. The video is really enjoyable any way!

Had the privilege to see Santana live on their 1st album tour just after Woodstock it was monumental for a 15 year old to witness this!! Thanks 😊
You're welcome!
