Kenan's presentations have just been increasingly engaging! His style is very discernable and enjoyable because it now has its own identity. I love the differences between Doug's "quirks and features" and Kenan's now equally-engaging "Facts and Figures." Each is awesome!
Admittedly, I prefer the older air-cooled Porsche, and I've been lucky enough to drive several of them. As a girl, I honestly struggle a bit with no powered steering. However, the 993 Turbo S is a masterpiece and wonderful car
@Dave_Allison 964 and 993 are definitely too modern for me. I used to own a 3.2 Carrera. Now, I'm a happy owner of a Lotus Elise S1 and a, finally slide girlish 😝, VW Up! Gti
This is one of my Dream Cars! The last of the air Cooled 911s. The styling of this car is absolutely beautiful! However, I'd have to sell my house and my liver to get it.
Kennan I really appreciate your review! So calm and detailed. It's a very good thing that you briefly explain a lot of stuff you mention about technical background etc. Greets!
Absolutely! I saw one parked by Notting Hill Gate last summer in cherry red. Even wanted to get off the bus just to have a closer look! So rare to see them out in the wild.
Hi Kennan, great video again. This is what you can call a MINT condition classic and probably if not the most, one of the most pretty designed Porsches, completely ruined with the stupid front lights of the next generation, no matter what Doug has to say 🙂. You probably know better but I think I remember this was one if not the first 911 offered with forged magnesium wheels, which were offered with several models afterwards. This is certainly a fast sports car even for today's standards, and with the legendary air cooled engine and in this condition, sure as hell the next owner is gonna be a really happy dude. Thanks for the great work man. Much love from West Spain!!
I'd argue that either the 993 GT2, or the 993 Carrera RS were the pinnacle of 993-based 911''s. I've sat in a 993 Turbo S and can confirm they feel very special though. I've also spent time in a 993 Carrera RS which also felt really amazing.
Another fantastic Kennan video. Doug has another great quality, picking great friends. Looking forward to more content from you Kennan. The more you do, the better you are. Keep up the good work.
Kennan, I don't blame you for wanting to keep that car. I'd like to keep that car. It's nostalgic for me to see these. The 993 era of Porsche is gorgeous, sounds great, and timeless. Congratulations on getting to experience one of these legends.
Yup. I put Bilstein M030 shocks, springs & beefier sway bars on mine. Lowered it A LOT. So much better! Thing drives like it's on rails, with zero bump steer. Not a harsh ride at all.
This was my first Cars and Bids channel view. Kennan is fantastic. Thanks for an informative and entertaining look at my favorite car since I was a kid.
Was lucky enough to see a similar/same spec in Vancouver in the 2010s at Weissach. No one was paying attention to it and I walked in and stared at it for many minutes. It sure was something special.
Love my 993 and the size/weight is amazing. That said I'm always a little on edge driving it, its so tiny and low, huge lifted trucks and SUVs miss it regularly prompting weekly brown alerts 😓
The 993 Turbo S is the most desirable Porsche ever, then the 964 Turbo S. My buddy Nicky had the 993 Turbo S in Fly Yellow when it was new. He only wants the newest versions of anything, so it doesn't faze him how these have appreciated. But I'm still obsessed with the 993s, especially the Turbo S. It's beyond desirable to me. Great review Kennan!
This one is a really beauty - I would keep it for an investment - ahem - weekend pleasure - and keep it for ever. The red one....nope I pass too much. Its a dream car and the beginning of a great collection :)
Here in Germany Porsche produced the 993 tubo with 450 hp ( WLS II Werksleistungssteigerung II ), means Powerincreasing II from factory. They are less produced then the tubo S . Same engine like GT2 Racecar and exhaust. Looks like 993 projet gold ( very last aircooled Kennan, I invite you to Düsseldorf, Gernany to drive one on them ( produced 7/97 on the German Autobahn with no speed limit´)
Nice. I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. Multi-show full-concours winner. I do my own maintenance. I'm never selling it.
Back in 2005 I was driving my 911 SC around Southern California doing break in miles after a full restoration. I was on The PCH and saw one of these Turbo S street parked outside a bar. I parked behind it and starting looking around it and kinda freaking out. At the time a guy was walking into the bar and stopped to talk to me. He knew the owner of the S but couldn't understand why I was so excited to see that car and said what's the difference between the Turbo S and my SC! Yes my SC was extremely nice and looked great with new paint job and great bodywork but to me I just didn't even comprehend that someone wouldn't understand the difference but as I've learned even driving a 996 that I have now to the non car person a Porsche is a Porsche 🤦♂️. I wish I could afford a 993 Turbo S because it's among my top 3 or 4 cars of all time!!

For some reason I prefer the non-S look. I miss the fog lamps at the front and I like the regular turbo rear spoiler better. Oh well those r way too expensive garage queens anyway. For crazy thrill, get a 996 GT2 instead
I remember the 993 Turbo when it came out. It was matched up against other supercars at the time on the cover of R/T magazine or maybe Motor Trend.
