Chanel 19 has been my signature scent for years, and now I'm intrigued by the Poudre fragrance. I love the original, especially since I don't know anyone else who wears it. I've noticed that long after I think the scent has evaporated, people will still comment on the lovely perfume I'm wearing.
Love your review. I have been wanting to own no 19 for quite some time now just not sure which one to get. I love Chanel but I don't understand why some of their fragrances don't have a good staying power except for Mademoiselle. It's a shame that they don't make them last longer. A perfume should be able to last a whole day like perfumes in the 80's. I would love to see your perfume collection.
Hello, I was also dissapointed with the power, projection and sillaje when I bough this fragrance in winter time....until 2 days ago when I have tried it again...a big shock! From just one spray I've got big lasting power and projection! The only thing that have change in this period was the seasons....So, I understood that for this perfume to perform good you need high temperature ( we have now more then 35 degrees in my country ). I have tried it today again in the morning, now it's 9:30 pm, and I still smell it, where in the winter, after 5 min I could smell anything!
It will be to do with the effect on your skin of the ambient temperature, which in turn effects the chemistry of the fragrance. Glad you are enjoying it now.
Chanel is d/c'ing eau de toilettes for some + perhaps making other changes and perhaps raising prices, shocking, not! have you ever tried C's cristalle btw? love jasmine + neroli! I do wear before bed too, still stuck on my Love Don't Be Shy by Kilian! thinking of getting coco noir soon in case they change it! great review!
I wore Christalle a lot in my 20's but then went off it. I feel it is a slightly 'cold' perfume (this is an issue with Chanel). If you like 'straight' Jasmine you might like Guerlain's Allegoria Jasmine, especially in the Summer. I must try Love Don't be Shy.
I blind bought this one recently and unfortunately I did not like it at all. People often compare this one to Prada Infusion d'Iris but I find the Prada Iris much more modern and fresh while still being very powdery. To my nose the 19 poudre smells very dated and stale although it has a very poor longetivity.

get the coco noir! it's very coco mademoiselle at first, coco in its middle and no 5 in its dry down. fascinating fragrance! on my skin at least.

Beautyspin has a fantastic range of designer and niche, they offer samples of almost everything which is a useful way of sniffing lots!
Good tip. I like Escentuel for non niche brands and The Perfumed Court for decants (US).

Very possibly. Packaging is a clue but Chanel fragrances aren't that widely faked except for No5.
