Just to clarify: when I say do the math/put it in your calculator I mean multiply the numerator (top numbers), then multiply your denominator (bottom numbers). Then divide the numerator total by the denominator total.

Just so that you know you leave out a step at the endo f every problem with the multiplying and dividing so for new students trying to understand it can get confusing at the end of the problem. But for the most part great teaching and thanks for the info.

Can you just divide 125mcg by 250mcg I feel like that converting what you have into what needs to be administered is easier but I don’t know if that will always work. That would have given 0.5 which I know in a fraction is 1/2

I'm sorry, I don't understand. At the start, you express "1 tablet = 0.5mg" by writing it as "1 tablet / 0.5 mg".
Isn't this supposed to mean "1 tablet divided by 0.5mg"?
Is this a special way of expressing things within dimensional analysis? I'm having a lot of trouble wrapping my head around this
Yes it a special way of writing with dimensional analysis.
I’m not sure how you are getting .5 you’re the showing the steps to get there, all you say is this cancels out and this cancels out, didn’t really help me

Where you put the second 1, it’s supposed to be X. X is the unknown. You’re solving for X tablets. Teach the students how to solve for X.
