শেখ হাসিনা দেশ ছেড়ে পালিয়ে যাওয়ার পর থেকে, একের পর এক তার নানা কুকীর্তি বেরিয়ে আসছে। রাজনৈতিক ভিন্নমত পোষণকারীদেরকে দমন করতে, আওয়ামী লীগ সরকারের সময়ে বহু মানুষকে গুম করা হয়েছে। যে গোপন কারাগারে গুম করা হতো, সেই জায়গাটার ছদ্মনাম হল আয়নাঘর। শেখ হাসিনার আস্থাভাজন, বাংলাদেশের সামরিক বাহিনীর গোয়েন্দা সংস্থার কিছু অসৎ অফিসার এই আয়না ঘর পরিচালনা করতো।
