I have been most impressed by the South Africans response, the fans, in defeat. This Ireland side are good, South Africa are worthy champions, and for quite everyone to be just discussing the fine margins is encouraging. Rugby is a tough game, all the fans, Irish and South African appreciate that, and yet all rugby supporters are united.
I haven't been impressed by some Saffa fans appropriating Zombie as a taunt against the Irish crowd. It's pretty abhorrent tbh and they should research what that song means. Anyway, great game and much respect to South Africa in general.
Completely disagree the art they said African fans have completely been nothing but disrespectful to Arden since they won the World Cup haemorrhaging irish social media accounts BS and News channel a Weather channel and agricultural channel a shopping channel all taunting us because we we didn’t get past a quarter final it was written for innocent children who died and then Casey been knocked out cold at Lot as verse field and the DJ hyping up the crowd to sing and sing and sing louder comments online such as telling us to go die in a potato farm and go back to Paddy land or just leaving emojis of potatoes it’s just downright pathetic and disrespectful. If they actually knew what the farm was about. It was never a farm and our food was stolen from us by the British then creating a genocide.
They are now all over social media once again with their World Cup 🏆 and saying that we only won because of this and that and this and that and just can’t accept the fact that they got schooled and their own backyard current world champions not being able to score one try on home ground they’re not deserving world champions
@@splorticussuii3303 I can't for the life of me understand why Irish supporters adopted that song in the first place, it is about horrifying events, and it's a rugby cheer?
@@Thomasuki267the band are from Limerick so Munster supporters adopted it and then onto the Irish fans in general.
Yes, it’s about a pretty awful period, but it’s a catchy tune and easy to sing along to.
This Irish v SA rivalry is amazing - and hope it stays that way. Never latch onto the fringe people making wild statements - the purist SA rugby fans love the Irish and the way they play. - Jeremy
The biggest tactical difference in the move from the first to the second test is; first test it’s loaded with front row players and a lock in the line. Second test, Ireland run the same shape but take the forwards take the ball into contact which isolates SA players who were expecting that to be the move. You then run the move off the second phase against two SA props, but the attack is loaded with backs. Delaying the move one phase made the gap, and was obviously a planned thing to show SA the same starting picture then change it slightly
Spot on, the simplicity of this makes it work, but because the Irish forwards have the skills to pull it off too, they're a threat but give the defence a false sense of confidence. It's extremely clever that anyone is capable of pulling it off. - Jeremy
We were completely outplayed, the one point difference in the score does not tell the story. Sublime try and two incredible drop kicks....well done the boys from Ireland.
🇨🇮❤
We gave away too many penalties. One of them wasn't a penalty though, came of a white SA hand not an Irish one as claimed. How the TMO missed that is beyond me.
@@RazorMouth the TMO didn’t miss it, he was trying to let Dickson know. You can hear him during the game saying “what are you trying to tell me “. But then just proceeded to ignore or wasn’t told that it was a South Africa hand.
Completely outplayed is applicable to the first half but not the second. Unless I watched a different game.
@@jankoekemoer6034The half where SA didn’t score a try.
It’s genius, gotta respect these world class plays by the Irish 👌 well won!
Love from 🇿🇦
Enjoyed your comments, Sometimes the simplest moves are the best 👍👍 what a great two series test match , just subscribed love from Ireland ☘☘
Agreed, the simplicity of this makes it work, because they don't need a whole set-piece opportunity to line it up. Just three players and everyone else in motion. The Irish forwards have the skills to pull it off too, which is amazing. - Jeremy
Nicely done. Very informative thank you
The saffa fans have been very gracious in defeat. I have been very impressed by their behaviour

Good analysis.. thank you .. There was one winner of this test series and that was rugby 🏉.. that last drop sails right of the post and there wud have been 2 winners! … All top 5 teams have beaten each other by a point, and margins are slim .. but SA are still the best team in the world, and will remain so until they are beaten at the World Cup, in the knockout stages that is (Irish 🇮🇪 fan here 😅).. SA will learn from this defeat & come back stronger, so in my opinion still favs for a Threepeat - they just kno how to win the important games lol
It was an awesome series - wish there was a third and final Test, it would've been a cracker, but alas! And cheers, thanks for checking out the video. Got some more incoming, so subscibe if you enjoy the vids! - Jeremy
Inside ball is lethal versus a rush
Bingo!
Thank you for this.
With the 2nd ball receiver, he was covered by the player in front of him. I would suggest that that indeed could be considered as illegal.
Please be aware I am not a winging Bokk supporter, just an English confused very old ex player, who is very perplexed with modern day rules.
It's a fair point, but I think it's a solid legal move. As long as he doesn't prevent the tackler from a genuine effort at the ball-carrier. The two decoys totally forced the defenders to commit to them. Great misdirection. - Jeremy
@@RugbyInformer Thank you. That is the difficulty of refereeing a rugby match isn’t it. 30 players at 120mph, playing on the edge of the rule book, and any good ref trying to keep a game flowing.
@@expressoevangelism80 Totally - and if you use slow-mo, everything looks intentional. As you said, it must be assessed in the real-time flow of the game, and those decoys completely pulled the other two defenders in different directions. Great move, perfectly executed. Thanks for the comment!
From my understanding the non-recieving player can’t initiate contact in front of the ball carrier. Otherwise, isn’t it obstruction. I’m also confused how it is legal as in both cases the decoy runner made contact with the defender close to where the reciever runs through the line.
@@loots0533 I think that is the case, but in both these scenarios (from my view), I see both defenders stepping into the decoy player path and both look unlikely that they'd even had make the tackle on the actual ball-carrier. I mean, if you can get a tackler to legitimately bite onto your decoy, it worked in my mind. In the PTA Test, Du Toit was NEVER going to get Kelleher, because he stood his ground anticipating the decoy.
I guess some refs might call it, but it's a fine line between completely obstructing someone and forcing them to stand their ground.
If Du Toit lunged for Kelleher and the Irish decoy took him out, that's another story.
Good, clean move IMO. If it's executed wrong, there definitely would be obstruction.
Thanks for the comment!
Class thank you
Cheers, thanks for checking out the video. - Jeremy
Great analysis!
Cheers, thanks for the comment man! More to come! - Jeremy
Seems like obstruction. Similar to the runners protecting the catcher on the box kicks.
It was the forwards completing this move in game 1, and the backs in game 2.
Spot on!
What is Sneaky about that move. What is sneaky and as Low as a snakes belly is the dive Kolbe took. He should be banned for that .
100%, Looking forward to seeing him in the Olympics diving.
Sneaky meaning effective. The SA fans are exceptionally graceful in defeat. Two wonderful teams and fans.
'Sneaky' in a good way, the attacking runner is hidden behind, hence it being sneaky. The Kolbe incident was a weird one - I'm sure there'll be more of a look into that.
Can he actually be banned for that?
@@newyorkeyerishthats new then .
Very good analysis of the move done by the Irish. Please then analize the foul play against Marx by the Irish no8 and Irish no5
Cheers, thanks for checking out the video. Got some more incoming, so subscibe if you enjoy the vids! 👍- Jeremy
That double croc roll has resulted in a fractured tibia for Marx (out for 4+ weeks). Mostert is out for 6 weeks with a broken leg, PSdT is out for 4-6 weeks due to an injury sustained during that 2nd test, and Kolbe is out for 4+ weeks due to a lower leg injury. Not to mention all the blood - Etzebeth & Mostert. How do all those top Springbok players get injured if the play is not cynical & malicious? Yet the Boks get called out for being too physical! I was happy for Ireland's win until I read about these injuries today. It's disappointing and quite disgusting that such dangerous play is not severely penalised. Dirty play has no place in the game we love.
@@vivb5180 It's a valid concern on the particular ones in the 2nd Test, but I do think JUST because someone gets injured, it desn't mean that something illegal is being done. The last thing any rugby fan wants is for cards to be handed out JUST because someone got hurt. It's a contact game, rugby incidents happen.
I do think the croc-roll didn't look good.
- Jeremy
@@vivb5180Been beaten up by SA beasts in Rugby for decades. Pounded by pounds of muscle grown in your schoolboy leagues. Cant bring myself to apologize for one bad tackle that didnt loose you this game.
@@aqwerty-dm8lh Never said the injuries lost us the game. The cynical foul play was simply uncalled for. Beaten up by SA beasts for decades... really? Your players are heavier than our pack in the scrum. And Ireland players have never been scared of giving as hard as they get. In past decades (the Bakkies Botha & James Dalton era), the Boks did get a bad name, but since Erasmus has taken over the reigns, there is no place for cynical foul play. Nothing dirty about brute strength in the scrums (technique is everything as scrum coach Daan Human shows). The Ireland team is hardly made up of small, lightweight players and neither are the schoolboys or U20 players. And it wasn't just one bad tackle (made by TWO players who should both have been red-carded), but also the cynical play on Mostert who ended up with a broken leg. Last I checked, no players in the Ireland team had any broken bones after both tests.
Nice move by the Irish but where was south Africa cover defence
Slipping and sliding on the "wet" grass or so "they" say
Most likely tied up elsewhere.
Like all plays, you need to pick your spot. You can't just go spamming it like a toddler who learnt the F word.
So what do you do? I haven't watched the game back to analyse the buildup, but here is an idea of how a coach might think: In the previous phases, you make sure to spread the defense as wide as possible by probing the wings, sending the message that you're going wide and break for the corners. You can drop your fly-half back, that might send the message that the fullback now has to watch out for some nasty 50:22 kicks.
In the phase that you are planning your move, you make sure to target the best tacklers and get them either roped in a tackle, or have them follow a dummy runner. PSDT can't do PSDT stuff when he is laying under half a ton of beef.
What you end up with is a defensive line spread wide and a fullback that has to commit himself to a defensive position, preferably far away from where you are trying to launch your sneak attack.
@@randomlyfactual1943 great piece 👏
@randomlyfactual1943 fullback/blind wings should always be able to cover
So really, it's either crossing or an obstruction. The player who moves away makes contact with the defender, preventing the tackle.
😂😂😂 yawn
Ah. This is where knowledge of the rules comes in handy when working out plays.
The law clearly defines what obstruction is. Nowhere does it say that one player is not allowed to run behind another. And when the dummy comes, the lead player darts off to the side, pulling a defender away.
@@randomlyfactual1943 the obstruction rule says clearly "2. an off side player must not intentionally obstruct an opponent or interfere with play" and "3. A player must not intentionally prevent an opponent from tackling or attempting to tackle the ball-carrier" and the off side rule "1. A player is off side in open play if that player is in front of a team mate who is carrying the ball [...] This includes [...] d. Loitering in an offside position". But nice try.
@@cedricpicard9016 The rules are pertaining to the ball carrier. Not the "would-be ball carrier".
Dummy runners then drift to the side. By the time the receiver claims the ball, there is no one in front of him. No offside, no obstruction.
@@randomlyfactual1943 what part of "a player must not intentionally prevent an opponent from tackling or attempting to tackle the ball-carrier" do you have problems understanding?
Your title is ridiculous, the word sneaky implies underhand and illegal. This is rubbish. The ball handling skills here are silky smooth and some may say even lucky but never sneaky.
Did you watch the video? - Jeremy
They used the same move against France last year with Hugo Keenan
Sneaky infers cheating or under hand tactics. So he is basically the Irish were cheating because of their quick good timing and ball skills.
No he's just say d move is carried out well
@@noelfleming3567 Precisely, it was a fantastic move, it was 'sneaky' in a good way, hiding the actual runner behind some decoys. Thanks for the comment! - Jeremy
joe schmidt move?
Absolutely, Joe’s coaching was lethal for those set pieces.
'Sneaky' is quite a derogatory description for the world champions and arguably the best defence in the world to be outwitted by the same move in consecutive games is world class deception, not 'sneaky'
'Sneaky' in a good way, hiding the actual runner behind some decoys. Much like throwing a dummy is 'sneaky'. Don't get too caught up on semantics! Thanks for checking out the video. - Jeremy
So you guys fell for the Irish ploy..... so what's the big deal? SA have a few ploys of their own don't they?
Appreciating the move :) No one is upset about it - Jeremy
Sneaky Irish move ? strange thing to say ,most pundits would say, a brilliant move , If the Boks had done that what would you have said?
Did you watch the video?
The most Irish looking South African guy, wow
🤣 Thanks... I guess 😅 Thanks for checking out the video. - Jeremy
Very close,,if not an infringement to defenders as contact was made on the way through !
they used it against England twice just a slight variation.
Isn’t this just Ireland doing to SAF what NZ did to Ireland in RWC?
All successful moves are Sneaky.
Maybe they want to see d game plan beforehand 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Precisely - misdirection = sneaky.
Did you guys saw at every scrum what the Irish no.1 (loosehead prop) did? Pul down the South African no.3 (tighthead prop) and not one penalty for the Bokke... Something definitely wrong with the referee's and TMO's. The 8 and 5 should have gotten yellow cards you can't use a dangerous tackle as mitigation for another dangerous tackle.
If you want to blame bad ref and TMO calls, then Ireland would have won the first test match as the TMO would not be allowed to come in and call that Irish roll in scrum as it would only be the main refs permit, not the TMO's. Therefore the disallowed try would have been made, not disallowed, and Ireland would have won. So please leave missed officials calls out of this. it went both ways. Good test matches, and enjoyable rugby for 2 games.
Nothing sneaky about it. Poor headline. It's why we watch rugby.
Did you watch the video?
As a neutral there’s a suspect of running interference.
This is high comedy.
Nothing sneaky about that try. That's just snark.
Clickbait title
What makes you say that? - Jeremy
Hardly "sneaky"!!!
It’s called running I interference.
What a crap title for a video - respect !
Looking at the move at 1.20 minute time frame, I would call that an obstruction by the Irish decoy.
Lol. SA No. 17 attempted to tackle him without the ball. OMG...😂😂
Don’t worry you’re still number 1 whinning country in the world BAR NONE…
@@davidwalker2402. Absolutely. Just fucking accept you lost the game . Kolbe should represent South Africa at diving in the Olympics.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
No, Healy was a live passing option (as are the rest of the players which makes it so hard to defend) SA player stands his ground which removes Healy as an option so the ball goes to Kelleher. It’s just a clever move, nothing stopping SA from running it
Does kolbe think he is on a soccer field with a dive like that. He had the crowd fooled for a moment but not the officials. Come on Kolbe you are better than that.
Ireland beat SA two out of three times this year.

Now that, is nonsense of the highest order.
Sneaky snake kolbe
"Sneaky Irish Move' - salty much? FFS. Think you misspelled 'Brilliantly worked' or 'Genius' ! However, if you want to talk 'Sneaky', you see Kolbe dive into Irish players to get the drop goal reversed. Now that's sneaky. Lost a whole lot of respect for that. Pretty Pathetic.
