"What are human rights? What is freedom?" Can you just imagine to ask these questions....
@@hongpam8739 and even if they did, the government would tell them that their lives are full of freedom
i really wanted to un to die, he doesnt deserve all this privilege
This guy is extremely brave for getting out of North Korea.
I know those guys extremely Brave because North Korea is today's Nazi Germany
UNLEASHING POTENTIAL - PSYCHOLOGY VIDEOS for the 15 time I see you on a video
Think about it: if you grow up with a pack of wolves, you’ll think that the whole world grows up with a pack of wolves. If you grow up in the middle of the ocean, you’ll think that the whole world is like that, or you’ll think that there is no other part to the world. If North Korea was all he knew, then his only choice would be to obey what he knows. It’s really sad once you think about it
Amen! Well said. It’s tragic. The average North Korean can’t even access the internet beyond the limited sites that the DPRNK control. Sadly, I’m sure most of them have never heard of a VPN. I wonder if using a VPN would allow their online presence to sneak past government security and access the worldwide web.
was it sigmund freud who called it mind conditioning? that is true even to religion.
He's a brave and courageous young man. Kudos to him, we all wish for his safety.
marinel rillera democracy is hell look what happened in Libya because of democracy
This man transforned himself and turned Pain and Knowledge into power action and cause... I habe no words. Respect is one that works though, at the least... Damn.
Jess is an NK Troll. We will never hear from him/her again. It’s sad Jess has no free will and can never respond with the truth. That person whoever they are is being forced to reply by the the dear Dictator. So just take it easy on them.
@@wizzerd229 I am a Korean American. How much does the regime hate me? Cmon kim jong un I heard you like basketball? I WILL SCHOOL YOU
reminds me of the book camp 14, i’m so glad this man escaped he was very lucky
Damn the world needs to do something about North Korea.
The Random the US and any other nation can’t really do anything because they have missiles aimed at South Korea and Japan, and we can’t provoke them.
Pastor Chun Kiwon may be that pastor who helped him. Bless that pastor who has rescued thousands of North Korean defectors. And thanks to this man for sharing his eye-opening story.
God bless him, I hope he’ll have a good life ahead of him.
Charlie Vetsworth she was just being kind, something you do not show often surely. Even if you don’t agree with her, you didn’t have to comment. If you’re not going to say something helpful, don’t speak at all.
@@brijeshthapa1808 His family members were already subject to purges in North Korea because they were related to Kim Jong-un's executed uncle, Jang Song-thaek.
It was fortunate that this man survived.
Strength and victory I wish for him and his pursuits...
“ I sat free, and for the first time I wanted to learn about democracy”
“Then I went to go buy some groceries”
Btw I love this story
I'm not comfortable with the fact that he is talking about this publicly. What about his safety?
He's already very public about the topic on social media, and North Korea definitely knows about him anyways. If anything could've happened to him, then it should already have.
Any family he has in NK have either been killed or are in work camps.
At this point, he’s out. The NK government has no power in SK. NK doesn’t want him back now that he knows all of this.
@@j5892000: Yeah but people from NK have escaped before and then been captured and sent back to NK. The OP was right to be a little worried.
That is some of the most bad ass freedom fighting I've ever heard of. I know nothing of suffering. This is truly amazing to watch.
This is so inspiring. I hope your family is well and understand, please don't give up on hope and you will achieve so much more! Freedom and human rights are worth fighting for!
Made me cry. Thank you for sharing that!
Good luck young man!!!! Many blessings to you.
Wow, this an incredible story. It must have been incredibly hard pill to swallow hearing those things about your country!
"What are human rights"
"What is a dictatorship"
"What is freedom"
Something has to be done for these people.
Couldn't imagine how it feels to have your family potentially tortured to death because of me, what a strong soul Geum has 😥
It's not because of him they are potentially tortured to death, it's because of the system that they, as the ruling class of North Korea uphold.
@@Asa...S How about James Dresnok who defected to North Korea from the USA who is the real hero here as he renounced Imperialist USA!
Much respect young man, much respect and wishes for a happy life!
Wow that was powerful!
I applaud his bravery. And fear for his family. I pray they will one day we reunited in a safe environment.
Be the change you want to see in the world! Applause for your bravery, determination and care for other humans
1.59 I love how he started to research and how he now wants to help his country
Thank you for your courage, and MORAL courage! You are a great human being!
What an amazing story. Very moving.
He is brave and courageous. I am sure he knows what he is getting into and what his purpose in life is. May God help him and grant him grace to live with boldness and dignity for righteousness.
He is a very smart man.
He fell in love with the daughter of a South Korean military general, got married, and had a son, and now he work as a high-ranking public official at a state agency.
God bless this young man, and pray for the safety of his family.
He's actually a very extremely brave man who fought against tyranny and brutal regime actually. As a Christian person I have been praying for the people of North Korea. North Korean military personnel, civilians, government personnel are actually leaving north Korea.
힘내세요! 응원합니다!
He should be a highly educated and grown up in very high positioned family as I see he have studied in China as a Uni student and by seeing he's English skill.
I admire this guy who's realized what is human right and inpired he need to do something.
We are mostly living in the well organized system and we don't even realize that it is gift compare with people live in dictating country.
That was one of the most powerful testimonies of a North Korean defector. I could put myself in his place with how he described how his eyes were open and was woken up about his country. I hope and pray his family are ok.
I would love to see a part 2 of his story!
Good story! Thanks for sharing.
This is an amazing story, because it is not as obvious as escaping famine, it's a story directly involving knowledge and ethics. I'm very happy this man is free!
This is a meaningful video !
People who are living in NK can’t do anything about it because anyone who would just think about rebelling will die from severe famine in working camps. And countries would not try to do anything because NK is so powerful that it can cause serious damages to any country that would interfere. I believe NK’s only hope is those North Koreans who escape to other countries. They have the freedom to do it, and they have the motive also that they would die to free their own people and country. I’m sure no one will see this post but I’m sending this message to those North Koreans who escaped, you have all the power to make a change in your county’s situation.
Please, I'm sorry if this is rude for asking... What would be a good way to Support this cause and North Korean people who escape. I realy would like to be an aid
But still even then, that's a lot to carry... for individual people...
lol the only way to support this is by living in south korea and sneaking in south korean movies electronics to north korean defectors who risk their life traveling back and forth through boarders to slowly show citizens what life outside north korea looks like. Even that you would need to already have those connections. People send balloons over with pictures of other cities and things that aren't north korean so they can see what the real world looks like. Other than that there is nothing you can do
@@jocelynshaw7612 or u can donate to this north Korean ngos in South Korea through online donations
Imagine how heartbreaking it must be to lose faith in your country and the system you've known your entire life overnight
Awesome story. Equally awesome camera work.
Man,round of applause for you, such a brave boi
Such a moving testimony.
Wow this is empowering.... May you find strength in freedom as you fight for democracy 👍
I think it takes extraordinary courage to walk away from everyone and everything you've ever known, to gamble on the dream of a better life. I am always fascinated and inspired by these people.
I wish you have a better, new, and wonderful life in anywhere in Earth. 응원합니다. 당신의 새로운 인생이 앞으로도 꽃길만 가득하길 빕니다.
True life superhero , I wish I could have this guys mind set and use it in my daily life
Thanks for the captions
He is very brave and he speaks English so very well, absolutely fantastic pronunciation and syntax as well.
You made it. It's called freedom! Yes I met Robert Park back in Seoul in November 2009. He went to North Korea and raised awareness.
You are so brave ,,, stay strong,,, God bless you...
Thank you for sharing your story. I’m glad you made it to the United States. I wish you a happy prosperous life here.
GEUM,
What a courageous young man you are! It takes Just (ONE) to start a movement! Just (ONE) to create the begining of change. Just (ONE) to start the topple of a regime and dictatorship. Just (ONE) TO start creating a democracy. EVERYTHING THAT HAS EVER HAPPEND, HAPPEND BECAUSE (ONE) PERSON DID THAT ONE THING THAT CREATED HUGE CHANGE IN MILLIONS OF LIVES! YOU GEUM ARE (ONE) OF THOSE PEOPLE! The choices you made and continue to make , Imagine how many lives your journey might have and will save! May God Bless your Heart And Soul GEUM!
Why did you have to zoom in like that? I was just about to tear up but then when it zoomed into his face I don’t know why but I cracked out laughing and I can’t stop!.😖😭😭 why does it keep zooming in like that!😖
I’m dreading going to the crowded supermarket and he reminded me at the end thatvthis is freedom
Wishing you the best of luck my friend.
Brave.blessings to you, my friend
Kudos to this courageous man, and I respect him very much, but whenever the camera zoomed in (like the office), I couldn't control my laughter.
This is the type of guy you want to have a deep conversation about knowledge. No judgement but instead tries to understand the topic.
There has GOT to be something we can do
You can give money to the legitimate organizations that help them escape. You can share these videos and you can tell others. That's a place to start.
God bless you on your journey..He loves you...Trust in HIM...Pray for your family...🙏🙏🙏
Your very brave! More students like u should all escape and go to SK.
This is such a nice story
This guy is honestly amazing. It is crazy how messed up it is there.
Poor guy, I could tell he was trying his best to hold back the tears.
Thank you for your enlightenment, young man. I commend your courage.
BCP says, "If I could be there, I would give you a big Bear hug! It is not easy for you. I do hope you are okay still. Happy Freedom to you."
I loved his accent and his brave attitude to escape North Korea, and how he wants to change his own homeland.
I'm glad he found freedom I cant even imagine what he went through just to see what was on the other side of the fence its good to have a neighbor like him thoughts and prayers and love for all the slaves in north karea that dont know what freedom is
💜🙏 thx 4 sharing.
Amazing, I could not even imagine
May God bless this man!
Great strength and courage. A leader.
Beautiful:)
This young man had to pay a price for his freedom, his family, he has a lot of courage and I hope he can help his people in some way.
Powerful!
another incredible story...
Awe. .God bless your sir.
It takes a lot to talk about something so hurtful... thank you
That’s a really odd story.
All the best to this man.. I’m a bit worried for his safety now.
Man I'm so sorry for this poor soul and 😢 he and the rest of the citizens were blocked from the rest of the world live on
Pam RAMITA ANGKITITRAKUL because no one is brave enough to start a revolution because they’re brainwashed into thinking that the Kim dynasty are gods since North Korea was founded
I love the moment series
So powerful
2:44 The zoom ruined the deep moment
That's so inspiring but so sad at the same time. I can't imagine how it feels to live in a dictatorship and not have the freedom to have opportunities. I live in Germany and I feel so grateful to be born there
BMWs always ruin your beautiful garden every morning? I am afraid...
I pray he has a happy and successful life
One day North Koreans will wake upp, no mattter how tough their system is one by one they will lead their country freedom.
@@abusedbarbie5132 Then the UN will Intervene because of the Genocide and Nations of the World will enter North Korea reunifying the korean peninsula under the republic of korea
Rasmus Nilsen-Bie again not that simple,it will star world war 3..North Korea is backed by 2 super powers Russia and China, the US will lead the UN,so yes no leader wants to start a world war
Rasmus Nilsen-Bie this is a problem that all leaders of all nations are already aware of for a long long time but nobody will do anything because of the consequences(world war 3) so that’s why it’s better to just leave it alone
There will be a day which more people question their selves, think and realize they've been enslaved and abused so they come together and overthrow this damned system
When it comes to Saudi Arabia we find every single social media talk about one teen girl escaped from Saudi Arabia from Kuwait actually to Thailand, but when it's really about North Korea and the miserables people who living in hell and finally escaped, nobody is really cares about them or lend them their full attention..
Agree with u Just a Girl ...my understanding is that the Saudi girl attracted the world attention bcoz she escaped from Islamic principles and culture to embrace the western culture...
@Rener Oslo , hope Saudi Arabia remains always the muslim country that maintains the sharia law and all islam principles esp in this era of the raise of that 'drunk, drowned' bin Salman n his 'open thoughts'...
God I can not imagine how he feels about his family he left behind in North Korea! How sad he must feel some days!
Highly recommend dear leader it's a book about a similar case
It must have been liberating for his soul.
So many years.
Finally free.
POWERFUL
You're not alone many people from many countries are waking up.
Bruh you are a legend
Omg. Bless his heart.
What a hefty story!
All these poor people must be hard because when they tried to leave and escape their country they also are leaving their family behind, it must be so painful for them mixed with the insecurity to star a new life as well, they are very brave people
I can feel the emotion from him...
Us living in the U.S. take everything for granted. This is crazy and has me thinking of how thankful and grateful I am. We complain because were not driving a supercar or a luxury car but then there is these people who are fighting for their lives and living in horrendous situations with no freedom. Crazy!!!
I applaud this man for sharing his story but also the random camera zoom-ins remind me of The Office
Katie Gu yeah that was quite uncalled for but it kind of deepened his look he gave to the camera
I was thinking the same thing lmao
Katie Gu i didnt realize the camera zoom-ins til i read the comment and i rewatched the vid and it killed me 😂
i don't know why they thought that was a good idea lmao
