- In front of Cinderella Castle, Mickey Mouse and the gang welcomes Princess Tiana to the Magic Kingdom. This was just before the film "The Princess and the Frog" was released. Can you name all the characters in this video? Did you see those girls run up for a selfie near the end of the performance?

i understand that they can't include EVERYBODY, theres a lot of "princess type characters, but lilo and stitch was a random choice lol especially if theyre gonna leave out ariel (but i have a little mermaid bias lol)

I felt like they could have made it into a big celebration, I love Princess and the Frog, and this welcome lacked in the whole New Orleans feel
She had a whole Mardi Gras procession and got her own fully loaded steamboat JAMMED with Mardi Gras dancers. I'm not sure any other princess has commandeered an entire boat to herself. :)

So was Princess Elonwy from The Black Cauldron, some get very overlooked. But all I can say (although it's not an excuse) is that, given the choice, Mulan and Pocahontas wouldn't have wanted to live in a castle like this. It would have looked out of place for me to see Pocahontas leaning over Sleeping Beauty's Castle and waving at us at Disneyland. These princesses were whisked away to castles to live happily ever after, I guess this is why they reside there in Disneyland *shrugs* I don't know

It is based on a real life event that happened a few years ago. A lot of people are giving Disney shit because they are making their first African princess a little white girl.

Pocahontas is the daugher of the leader of the tribe (native tribe) so on one way she is a princess (land before the "white princess way of see it) if you understand how I mean.
