  • Kaze talks about Haikyuu!!, specifically Haikyuu!! To The Top, and how it continues to take a step further in the brilliance of the sports anime genre. How a volleyball anime has transformed the concept of what it means to be a sports anime in the first place. How a match between Karasuno Vs Inarizaki makes us aware of the importance of memories. And I dissect it in yet another personal video essay.

You know... I have argued against Inarizaki's banner motto with so many people, so many youtubers deffending their motto because they found in any way some sort of justification. But to me it never ressonated.
That is because of the last message of this video. Memories are worth keeping. It is because of those memories that Hinata and Kageyama won, because of their memory of their lost game.

I was in awe of so many moments in this season and how it ended up teaching me something so valuable in life.
And so, decided to really showcase what I believe to be the main themes of this season.

Oh, I remember you! I scour UA-cam for Haikyuu video essays, and I remember yours in particular stood out to me. I remember you talked about Captain Tsubasa and how that had inspired you when you were younger. I loved that personal touch. I’m one minute in to this video and I can already tell you’ve stepped up your editing since then! Looking forward to watching the rest.
EDIT: Yep, just as great as I remember. You have such a way with words. Love the inspirational messages inspired by the show and your own experiences as well. Great stuff.

Thank you! That really means a lot to me. I tried to make this as a (subtle) sequel to my previous video with the themes I talked about. Really glad you enjoyed it 🙂

If you like cinema and anime you should read Tatsuki Fujimoto's work like Fire Punch and especially Chainsaw man, his love of cinema really shows in his panels and overalls his mangas are weird but excellent.
Great video tho, i believe that this season was when haikyuu really became beyond masterful
