Absolutely right I often watch the saved games of hcv again and again then I find something new every other players I watch I mentally compare with Morphy and then come to the conclusion they are not as spectacular as Morphy mho alone thks
Perhaps the advantage of playing white made opponents think they could match Morphy's aggression. Most of my favorite Morphy games are with black pieces.
Of course it's a lovely game not like a shot of whiskey that gets to your head imm but like old wine that very slowly gets to you as you enjoy it sip by sip
Morphy's passed pawn on e3 makes 17.Bxh2+ a very effective move as it not only blocks the queen from f3&g3&h3 , but it also blocks the crucial escape square of the white king - f3.

Is this the way to play king's gambit or did schulten make a mistake
@@giriiyer3968 the correct move are 17.rook f3 but the advantage of Morphy is already overwhelming at this poit.

Morphy plays the other side of kings gambit accepted just equally well it seems he has researched kings gambit very well it seems he owns kings gambit
