Hi Everyone. This is me in this video clip. This was 7 years ago. I didn’t know I’d be asked to walk dogs. I had a very real fear based on a very real experience. My son was 9 at the time and really wanted a dog. I put it off for a long time but knew it would be a blessing for him to have a dog. We’ve had Randy Sonic Jones since this time 7 years ago. I’ve also lost 65 pounds since then. I’m always working on me and overcoming fears or what’s perceived as shortcomings. I do it for myself and my son. Be blessed and stay safe everyone. ❤️😊
I admire you for facing your fears. You inspire me to face mine. I don't know if this will help, but I read that if you ever are feeling afraid of a dog (if it's a real threat, which is not very common), just climb on the top of any parked car nearby! It's a nice plan to have, so you don't have to worry, but I know you won't need it. I'm so glad you know the joy of pets and can enjoy them!
I'm glad you faced your fears, dogs are awesome. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience before, but you had the strength and courage to push through that fear. You're amazing!
I admire you! Really cool that you were able to work so hard on yourself just so your son can be happy. Also congratulations on becoming this fit, I'm sure it was a ton of work. My respect 🔥🙌🏻

There’s a Great Dane in my neighborhood that carries a fuzzy pillow in his mouth on his walks. It’s his special pillow he’s had since he was little. He’s a big giant baby.
My friend has a Great Pyrenes that's also really big, honestly I've known more aggressive bunny rabbits. Even his dog toys are usually pink and fluffy and cuddly, sort of toys you'd get for a 4 year old girl lol

Great Danes are so gentle and beautiful no need to be scared of them I’m more scared of Shih Tzus Edit: thanks for so many likes just so you know I don't hate Shih Tzus just think they are a little aggressive because of the owners.
So true, i have a large male greyhound whom sits just below waist height. Everytime we go walking every small dog goes nuts and want a piece of him. My boy just looks at them as if to say " you have no idea what you could get yourself into" and calmly keeps walking!!
I find Shih Tzu's are just a bit mouthy (with the occasonal one that'll attack), Chihuahua's are generally evil, but thankfully usually don't do lasting damage because your average house cat would beat one up (Have had one try to kill my dog, but.... being an American bulldog, he just sat down on it when it tried to get at his throat from under him LOL) By main bogey dogs are Jack Russells. People get them expecting something you can baby, but the breed is notorious for biting. Or at least around here in the UK. Often they don't get exercised nearly enough (they are working dogs. They need mental and physical outlets), and this leads to bad behaviour that's remedied by picking them up (making the situation worse). I've had more attacks on my dog of this breed than anything else put together. Another note is Border Collies. Generally they're not bad dogs but require stupid amounts of exercise and mental stimulation IN THE RIGHT WAY. I've been attacked multiple times out horse riding by ill-trained collies.
Um. Did he just build a meaningful connection with her, to help alleviate her fears, while also keeping her in complete control of the situation? This man is a pro, y'all.

Very true. There's never bad dogs, only bad owners. If it wasn't for my training of my nan's chihuahua as a pup, there would be tons of issues. She is the sweetest and most affectionate dog I've ever met. That she pulls your hand in for pets, and nuzzles your face for kisses. My chihuahua isn't as well behaved sadly, mainly her being my first dog and I was too young to properly train her. Her only issue I can say is barking, and it's very difficult to get her stop as she just doesn't care! Still, she's such and affectionate dog who loves kids and other dog's alike. She just turned ten this year and still going strong!
there are these animals native to Japan called Tanuki, also known as raccoon dogs; they're actually a kind of canine that just happens to resemble raccoons; they feature in Japanese legends as being mischievous shapeshifters, and get depicted by statues with ENORMOUS testicles; if you ever see a picture of a statue in Japan that's some sort of animal sitting up on its' hind legs with huge balls, that's a tanuki, the legend version ofc not the actual animal

I'd honestly be more afraid of the smaller dogs than the big ones. But I can also understand where this lady is coming from, when big dogs are aggressive the bite can inflict life threatening wounds. But at least she was able to comphrend that not all dogs are mean, I love Gatsby! Great Danes are such gentle giants, I want to get one so, so bad! And that Chihuahua was so cute too and well behaved, I'm glad that this lady was able to try all the dogs of every shape and size out :]

I’d be more afraid of that rat sized dog then that “horse”. My girl was dubbed a Great Dane/Pit Bull mix when we adopted her. Honestly, unless you’re a butterfly in the back yard, she’s the sweetest creature I’ve ever met.
@@shrilleth Just like our fellow humans when they are short. They tend to get nastier, cause they getting shit on them all their life. It's probably the same for dogs :P
@@yuo3670 look i agree its not fair for pitbull lovers (like myself) to hate on Chihuahuas. But you have to understand, the only reason you don't hear about Chihuahuas seriously injuring people is because there incapable. But statistically speaking more people are attacked/bit by smaller dogs like chihuahuas than pit bulls. Statistics shows that, you can look it up. Chihuahua bites also aren't as reported as often as the bites of big dogs because they're not as severe. Even though you shouldn't let a dog bite you regardless of its size. Not only that, but no dog breed is inherently aggressive, its how the owner raises the dog that determines whether or not its aggressive. Pit bulls themselves used to be trusted to watch people's kids, they were called nanny dogs. But now people are so scared of them because of a couple people who raise them poorly and so they attack people, yet they blame the whole breed. So pitbull lovers, are constantly on the defensive because people are trying to blame a whole breed of dog over a few specific instances and it's not fair. Yet Chihuahuas get away with biting people all the time. If a pit bull bites someone its put down, but if a chihuahua bites someone people laugh it off. Ive been bite and nearly bite by chihuahuas a lot, but never by a pitbull. Anyways, hope that info was helpful.
@@alex_bee_kind Yeah dude that's the thing it's not necessarily fair but you've gotta have more control of a pitbull than a Chihuahua. One usually won't even break the skin if it decides to nip at you the other is fully capable of seriously disfiguring you. I don't think you understand what I'm getting at. Pitbulls are more dangerous their bite and their behavior matters way way more because the stakes are far higher. With pitbulls and Chihuahuas there's no comparison. It's like trying to compare Hockey and Baseball. I just wish pitbull lovers would stop complaining about dog racism and then turning around and spewing Chihuahua hate in the same fucking breath. It's ridiculous.
My wife went through a similar learning curve. When I met her 21 years ago, she was terrified of any dog. After a lot of talking I convinced her to take a wirehaired daschund in, which she fell in love with, then a cocker spaniel, then two more wired doxies . By the time the first dachshund and the spaniel passed on I was ready for a dog fitting my size ( 6'7) along side the two remaining doxies. So we got a german shepherd, which she is absolutely smitten with now . Ofcourse it helps to see them grow up from this little ball of fur to a fullsize GSD but... kudos to you and her for stepping out your comfortzone and face your fears.
The poor dogs are all so worried about her, they look at her and try giving kisses or demonstrate all the "I don't want trouble" signals. It was kinda sweet
I love them too. But they die very early. So get one then at the same time get a small or medium dog that is not a pure breed. That is what we did and I had six at different times. Then went to small mixed breed and the dogs live till it’s 19 or 20.
I can definitely relate to this. I have spent most of my life terrified of dogs. Until I had to move back in with my parents and found out they were getting a labradoodle puppy. Now 2 years later they have 2 labradoodles and I am totally in love with those sweethearts. I am still not really a dog person but I can be around dogs and walk down the street with dogs around. Hell even the other day a huge Neapolitan mastiff walked by me and I didn't freak out. I was able to pat him (I made sure to ask the owner first) and appreciate the gentleness and beauty of that doggo.
My dog is bigger 😅 He is a rescue dog (complete mutt) and is overly friendly with other dogs and looks really intimidating to people who aren't used to big dogs. He sleeps on a single matress because dog beds aren't long enough or thick enough to be comfortable to him. He is an ambassador for rescue dogs, showing everyone how intelligent, intimidating, but ultimately loyal and gentle large dogs can be.
I get this fear, as a kid we had this small dog in the neighborhood who would hide and sneak up on us kids just to bite us. I'm not scared of them now but I'd be lying if I said they don't make me uneasy.
It's not the big dogs you should fear, those are gentle giants. The small rat size dogs are the feisty ones. I want to find 1 person who hasn't been barked at by a chihuahua!
I actually feel sorry for chihuahuas. The real reason why they are so mean because they are scared at you. Because we are bigger than them, they will see you as a threat to them.
One of the reasons they die young is bloat, which is a problem in a lot of breeds. But they can get a surgery to prevent that, too. But yeah in general large dogs aren't going to live super long.
Well done love. It's hard to get over a fear even if you are doing it for a higher purpose. Always be tough, always stay strong and understand that fear is always worse than the reality. Kudos from the UK.
You know, I think that was a really wonderful and brave thing that she did. I also think it was a spectacular choice to pick a great Dane because they are such sensitive dogs and so gentle, even though they are so big that it was a really good experience for both of them.❤

I used to be scared of touching my dogs because they're unpredictable, but after 2 years of touching my big Chihuahua-Pomeranian Ace, i got over it. He's currently dead, just that January, died of cardiac arrest. I'm grateful that he came in my life, he got me to get over my fear of dogs. Now i feel free to pat any dog i come across, no matter how big.
Thanks Ace.
Nothing like the hugs you get with a big dog!
I’d be more afraid of that rat sized dog then that “horse”. My girl was dubbed a Great Dane/Pit Bull mix when we adopted her. Honestly, unless you’re a butterfly in the back yard, she’s the sweetest creature I’ve ever met.
really though, tiny dogs are little bastards. Little feral men.
@@shrilleth Just like our fellow humans when they are short.
They tend to get nastier, cause they getting shit on them all their life.
It's probably the same for dogs :P
What's with you pitbull people and hating on small dogs, never heard of a Chihuahua disfiguring and killing a toddler.
Dogs are more in tune to our emotions than most people realize. Really proud of her for overcoming her fears.
I'd be rolling around on the ground with Gatsby, after a few minutes.
Cynophobia is a real thing you cannot just tell somebody to get over it
Agreed. I love dogs...most mammals, but reptiles and creepy crawling things are a no...specifically snakes; that warranted fear will never leave.
He didn't do that, did he? He progressed her through stages of bigger and bigger dogs. Exposure Therapy...
no but you can face your fears and adjust
and not all fears are phobias
@@andrewhall7930 Nobody said he did that.
@@johanvajse8410 This is a phobia so what you're saying is completely unrelated.
Great job Brandon! You have done a noble thing. Everyone should love dogs!
My neighbors raised a litter of great danes. Mom and dad are about 185-195lbs
Brave woman - facing her fears and then facing something she never considered facing. She totally ruled! Respect.
I’m happy to see the Great Danes ears weren’t mutilated.
Bravo to this lady trying to over come her fears!
The poor dogs are all so worried about her, they look at her and try giving kisses or demonstrate all the "I don't want trouble" signals. It was kinda sweet
What a sweet Lady
you can do this girl, i too was attacked by two dogs (at separate times) but i got over it now i own a dog of my own you can too
I was also attacked by a mad dog and it was scary
I really appreciate that she tries to overcome her fear
omg that great dane is so beautiful i hope to own one one day 💕
I love them too. But they die very early. So get one then at the same time get a small or medium dog that is not a pure breed. That is what we did and I had six at different times. Then went to small mixed breed and the dogs live till it’s 19 or 20.
Way to go T! Good for you to take control of your fear, allowing you to bring the joy of a dog into your family!
she’s so cute omg
Thank you 😊
I am so happy Brandon helped her get over her fear and that now she's going to adopt a dog!
Feels like an incomplete story. What happened afterwards? Did she adopt any dog?
Well the entire point was to adopt a dog for her and her son so yeah probably.
She probably didn't adopt no. She's still afraid if dogs.
She's said in the comments her and her son have a dog and they love them
@@MarkSmith-hf5nh Don't make excuses for yourself like that, you can get over it too just like this frail old lady did.
My dog is bigger 😅
He is a rescue dog (complete mutt) and is overly friendly with other dogs and looks really intimidating to people who aren't used to big dogs.
He sleeps on a single matress because dog beds aren't long enough or thick enough to be comfortable to him.
He is an ambassador for rescue dogs, showing everyone how intelligent, intimidating, but ultimately loyal and gentle large dogs can be.
I love that she took the time to work on over coming her fear. Good for her!
If i pretend to be afraid of dogs, will someone come by my house with a car full of puppies to hang out with for the afternoon.
I love this honest honest open women.
I’d feel secure with him lol jk. She will one day learn that humans are way more dangerous than dogs. 🐾
Their both the same both are unpredictable
@XxXSunset Cookie Yeah, and if a dog was trained to kill, per say, then yes, it would be more dangerous than the human
😂
Oh I’ve known all of my life that humans can be more dangerous. This was 7 years ago and we’ve had our sweet dog since then. 😊
It’s awesome to watch someone overcome a fear that’s holding them back from something great 💯 Dogs are a gift to mankind
I get this fear, as a kid we had this small dog in the neighborhood who would hide and sneak up on us kids just to bite us. I'm not scared of them now but I'd be lying if I said they don't make me uneasy.
Real courage for the love of your son and yourself. Well done, girl.
It's not the big dogs you should fear, those are gentle giants. The small rat size dogs are the feisty ones.
I want to find 1 person who hasn't been barked at by a chihuahua!
frrr im scared of the small ones they always mess with me the big ones just be sitting down chilling but im still scared a little
I actually feel sorry for chihuahuas. The real reason why they are so mean because they are scared at you. Because we are bigger than them, they will see you as a threat to them.
But a aggressive big one hurts more
Happy for you. Dogs are such a comfort.
The two biggest dogs were my favs. I’d love to have a Great Dane. They’re so beautiful and sweet, but they just don’t live long enough.
Great Danes are the best! My dad has one who’s pushing 10 years old right now and he’s such a sweetheart.
One of the reasons they die young is bloat, which is a problem in a lot of breeds. But they can get a surgery to prevent that, too. But yeah in general large dogs aren't going to live super long.
@@ericromano8078 Thank you for that info. That’s really good to know. We have several large dogs in our family and I’m gonna pass this info along.
Well done love. It's hard to get over a fear even if you are doing it for a higher purpose.
Always be tough, always stay strong and understand that fear is always worse than the reality.
Kudos from the UK.
Imagine if he brought out a 150lbs wolf dog
I was thinking of a 200lb+ Mastiff or Newfoundland. That's a lot of dog lol
You know, I think that was a really wonderful and brave thing that she did. I also think it was a spectacular choice to pick a great Dane because they are such sensitive dogs and so gentle, even though they are so big that it was a really good experience for both of them.❤
Her: scared of gatsby
Me: BIG BAAAYYYBYYY awwwww Gatsby such a sweet boi awwwwwwww
Ahh--good for her, for facing her fears! I hope that hard work of hers comes back in dividends of being able to appreciate and benefit from the blessings that doggos can provide. kudos!
Dogs are not "unpredictable". Humans just need to learn how to read their body language.
You're not wrong, I guess what she meant was that she's not sure how a dog may react.
What a bunch of beautiful pups
Thesame way I Made my nephew overcome the fear of dogs
My mom was terrified of dogs. Then we got a Saint Bernard. She changed my mother’s mind completely.💜
She thinks dogs are unpredictable. Wait until she meets a cat, you never know what is going to happen with them
Cats are dicks. They will knock your cup of water or glass of wine onto the floor for the hell of it
The fact that she is trying shows she understands it can be overcomed.
My dog is a horse. He’s taller then most dogs. He’s a silver lab.
I've never seen a silver lab. I'm now going to go and look at them.
I've raised 5 Doberman Pinscher in my Adult life... Hundreds of Great stories and never a bad experience.....Best K9 I've ever been around....
See, im the total opposite to this lady. I see someone coming toward my general direction with a dog, im going up to them and asking if I can pet it lol.
So proud of her
I own a husky I know
I really like this woman, she seems so chill :)
She thinks dogs can be unpredictable, but goes out for a walk in 6 inch wedge shoes on. Got it.
Proud of you beautiful lady!!
I love dogs. I have 2 large dogs and i have never ever been scared of bigger dogs. But i dont trust Chihuahua or any ting tea sup dogs! They are the aggressive dogs.
Well, it's cuz of how they're bred.
I don’t ever put myself out there... but when I see shit like this..... I’m crying for you. Dogs are such a blessing to have and for you to do that so quick...💯 all the way ❤️❤️❤️
