It is the right way to go I think. With most technologies they tend to get smaller and lighter as economies of scale increase -- I do believe most bikes will have varying amounts of power like cars (consumer choice will increase). If MTB remains popular post-pandemic, and as the industry is more successful, purpose-built bikes for racers will be built with rules for motors, and consumers might use things more like this Orbea for trail riding with a motor of their choice. That might shake up the marketing connection between racing and sales (if consumers can't buy the bike they watch racing) that has long been part of the industry, or just become one more aspect among many.

Been riding my 2020 Occam M10 for 6 months , love it. You guys are making me want to trade up to the battery version now though. 😆 Seriously looks like a blast. Big props to the production team on GMBN btw.....the quality keeps leveling up, these are like mini-documentaries now....top quality work!

Really great video to showcase this bike. It showed its strengths and weakness in use. Advantages- Lightweight, responsive riding. Looks and feels like a regular bike. Disadvantages - Ran out of battery on long ride, lighter tires prone to punctures.

In all seriousness though this actually looks like a ebike that I would actually consider if I had a spare 6 grand. I don't like the idea of full fat ebikes but this looks perfect and I imagine you would even be able to pedal it when the battery goes flat. I would love to demo one.

Amazing video, that is what mountain bikes are all about, far beyond where no bikes has gone before. Do be careful though you are presenters and we audience can feel and see you aches and pains in case you get hurt. Hope you can show how you fixed that tire rip in the middle of nowhere.
Neil going OTB is a good bit on what everyone should wear a helmet as he hits the ground then gets clobbered by the bike; or is it the bike saying to him "Oi! look out ;-) " Glad he's OK, and will definitely be getting that route from Kamoot. Nice one
Besides covering more ground in less time good to see you do not get that worked on a epic ride. For a first attempt it seems Orbea has found the perfect balance between putting in the effort and pedal assist.
I own an Orbea Gain (e-road bike) and I absolutely love it. The Rise is such a compelling option. I was thinking of going with an OCCAM but I absolutely love what an e-bike can offer. My main question with this one especially how does it ride with the electric motor fully off? Do you get any drive train drag, or like your having to fight it?
