I bought this album one day when I was in the old Record Bar store in the mall. This was a "cut-out" or notched CD in the bargain bin. I'm thinking it was probably around '93 or so. The kids working there were pulling stuff out of the bargain bin and playing it in the store just to see if anyone would buy it. When I asked about this they all laughed and said, "See? There IS good music in the bargain bin!" So right. Kinda has a Del Amitri vibe to it.
Pure pop for now (and then, I guess) people. I understand Richard is still at it. God bless him. This is a great song, from an equally fabulous album. Twenty years gone & both are still fresh as daisies.
Power pop at its best. I'm just as stumped as anyone else why stuff like this doesn't break through. Richard X. Heyman, Tommy Keene, Matthew Sweet, etc., etc. Great melodies with hooks that stay with you forever, superb musicianship, and just fun attitude. I dunno...

I'll never understand why power pop can't seem to break thru to the mainstream. It's not difficult to appreciate!?! This is a great fucking song.
Richard and Nancy are my favorite musical couple. They are awesome.

one of the best power poppers ever
A PERFECT song. Everything I've heard by Richard X. Heyman has been great.
Unjustly overlooked phenomenal 90's power pop song. Should have broken through. Just as good as anything by Matthew Sweet or The Grays.
Damn, did someone say "The Grays"? That reminds me, I have a live dvd I haven't watched in forever. #JonBrionIsAGod
RXH: the Mozart of Power Pop. Astonishingly prolific, and seemingly perfect every time.
perfect song...no other way to describe it....words....structure ..riff....singing playing...you did it! many try and dont....
Another great Richard x tune
Great song had the makings of a big hit. Almost the 60s feel sounding like the foundations…
Just plain lovely.
It was the title "Hey Man" that got me most interested but my favorite song is "Civil War Buff."
love this song, love those guitars!
Who was the girl who used to play keyboards with his band?
#Epic
Does anyone have a video of Hoosier Girl?
