Very good Review! I'm thinking about buying such a box. But I still have a question: Is it possible to change the minix launcher to the standard Android launcher? On earlier boxes you could select this somewhere in the options. It was the better choice for my purposes.
The remote control looks like the same from older models. Shame there wasn't more demo on Gaming to see how well it handles heavy 3d gaming. Other then that. Not bad, but not sure I would spend that kind of money on it .. My poor other Minix is sitting in storage as Minix never bothered to do updates lol.
Don't get me wrong, specs are good. But usability in games is what interest me as well. To see it in action would be good. I'm still using nvidia shield 2017 and 2019. Both have not yet failed me. I think they could do more with their launcher to. Looks so old school. The remote is the same one I've had for years so that isn't new. But honestly I will probably buy it at a later point when I see more UA-cams on it.
It's incredibly expensive for what they're offering, and they put Android AOSP on it instead of Android/Google TV. Yes, AOSP has far more apps available in the Play Store. But, this type of product should be marketed to the home user who's interested in a TV device.
Of course, that would be the perfect option, but not many people like to use a big keyboard and a mouse to operate TV, I wouldnt mind though. But with this new Minix A3 Pro remote, you get all the features of a mouse and keyboard on the remote itself
Both the MINIX U8K and the Ugoos SK1 are amazing devices. Added benefit with Minix is the amazing remote controller, but they are very similar in terms of performance

Wow I used to love minix Android TV boxes💯👍🏾
Nice video thanks
$250 is too much for this, maybe $125!
Think this is still the best option of a pure android box
As of now, this Minix U8K and Ugoos SK1 are the top models... I am testing another one right now, that might be better then these two
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz which one would you say it's the best? The Ugoos is slightly cheaper. Can you also reveal that 3rd one? Thanks
@@josexbastos Oh that's a really difficult question. You can pick any one, you cant go wrong. The one I am testing now is the new BuzzTV P6 16G model
I there, my Minix U8K arriving this weekend, and I am wondering if you can share some of your IPTVs content so that I can test them.

Minix 8K does it support local live tv channel with closed captions for someone with hearing loss?
sorry, I didnt test that
Is there a way to make it to TV Layout? Cause I noticed some apps get detected as mobile or tablet lay out.
It depends on the type of Apps that you download. Some apps are developed a smaller tablet or mobile screens, while others are for TV screens
What is the maximum size of an external hard drive that can be connected to the usb 3.0 input?
The external expansion via USB 3.0 can accommodate drives up to 8TB
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz will it please work on USB 3.0 through Icy box IB-3640SU3 ( 4x8TB) ? thx
Does this come with any apps like the VSeeBox has?
No it does not

Hi there! Nice video! Is Google Play Store limited as on "Android TV" OS? I use to have Minix NEO X8-H and it was good. Now is a bit slow.
It is not limited. Its a full Android Playstore where you can download any app, you can even use apkpure.com or other such sites to download apps
I want to see live tv feature

Can you customize the main video button on the top left of the launcher just be replaced with one app like just plex or kodi?
Yes
The price to high compared with Nvidia shield
I think its one of the top models in the market today
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz android 11, now most tv boxes run android 13
Do any of these Android based streamers support Atmos bitstream/passthrough in order to get lossless Atmos (i.e. Dolby True HD)?
Yes, it does support Atmos
Does it come with pre installed live tv? Like the superbox
No it does not come with a pre-installed package, but if you are interested in getting one, contact me on my Whatsapp
no
no
Does iptv buffer at all? Is it worth it to switch from a Nvidia shield pro?
Not at all. The package I tested was very smooth without buffering
@ have you tried the shield pro? How does it compare to that? Worth the switch?
@@zac_corneliuss5299 This Minix U8K is a far superior device, its got 8GB RAM compared to 3GB RAM on the Shield Pro box... definitely worth the switch
The Shield TV pro is still king, even after 9 years
@@MinistryReviewsSchazlol you don't need 8 GB of ram to watch videos, the Shield TV supports all the codecs except AV1
Does the remote allow you to use it as a mouse ?
Yes it does. Its equipped with the six-axis gyroscope technology that works like a mouse on the screen
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz nice. It’s looks really nice. Is there a max to much how much microsd card you can use?
1TB
@@MinistryReviewsSchaz thank you. Would it be better to use an actual keyboard and mouse?
