It was so stupid to say from “this country” to “this country.” Don’t they realize that people have different skin tones all over Latin America? So ignorant
@@elmstreet2036 It has nothing to do with African-Latino people. We indigenous and mestizo people are the most discriminated for our race in South America. If you look at the people there, most of them if not all are from indigenous ascendance.
@@angelasaes yes yes ofc, I was just talking from a colorist pov, not a racism one. but your struggles in the latino community is valid. I'm sorry if I made you feel like your experiences wasn't heard
I guess it's because those countries have a larger white population. Argentina, Chile and Uruguay are mostly white. I'm from Uruguay and 95% of the population is white, we have zero diversity so in a way it makes sense. It's still disgusting the fact that they put the whiter countries as "pretty" and the more diverse ones as "ugly" though
@@andrewcollet3717 there shouldn't be a RACE preference to begin with, the problem is white skin is glorified due to racism, people of color already hate their skin, we've been RAISED facing white beauty standards. It is society that makes you think this is "preference" on top of that, preference doesn't mean you wont date someone out of your preference, PREFERENCE is saying "I perfer this, but I'm still open and willing to dating this" most people use the word preference when they mean exclusion. Because they will date "this" and will not date "that" under any circumstance. That's exclusion, not prefrence
@@andrewcollet3717 I getcha, but no one will hate someone or call the ugly for eye color, height, etc. but people do discriminate off how dark someone is 🐸

As someone who's skin tone is comparable to printer paper, one of the most disheartening things about my time in Southeast Asia was people acting as if my fair skin was an achievement. All I could think whenever they complimented me was, "Don't you realize your dark skin is just as beautiful?" This type of thinking can also be downright dangerous because it encourages the use of skin bleach (yes, it is exactly what it sounds like).
Mhm, I’m a Chinese person with very fair skin, so whenever I meet relatives or family acquaintances, there’d always be 3-4 comments on my pale complexion. I mean, yeah, you can compliment people, but skin colour should be no different than hair colour! You’re allowed to have preferences and stuff, some aspects of different appearances may attract you more than others, but holding certain skin tones on a pedestal, or anything regarding someone’s physical form for that matter, is just weird. It’s understandable that countries may have varying beauty standards, but heavily judging people by those beauty standards, or even worse- associating it to race, crosses the line of which is acceptable. Being drawn to some things more than others is different from treating what you don’t like with a prejudice. I feel absolutely terrible when I hear my own parents associate dark skin to dirtiness, terrible when they associate black people to dirtiness. It’s not only skin either, racial prejudice leaks into all facial features- I still remember when my classmates in elementary school would pull back their eyelids around me, saying ‘look, I’m Asian!’ even though I myself actually have hooded almond eyes. I wish that we could see everyone as just people, humans, devoid of the barriers caused by racial differences- when we could talk about where we’re from, comment on our appearances without associating our entire ancestral backgrounds with such things.
@@ifykyk679 Europeans don’t want to be pale. We want to be tan so no not everyone likes pale skin if we did tanning products wouldn’t be sold everywhere.
I'm Indian with pretty dark skin and I struggled with accepting the way I am as a child with people criticizing and teasing me for being dark.. Thankfully I've outgrown the insecurity and feel good about my skin.. I feel bad that this still continues and is making the younger generation feel unhappy with how they look🙁
Society makes them think they look bad and they got so used to it that even they think that it's true like wtf how can you let other people tell that your skin is bad but the other is good.
when they were saying "from Peru to Colombia" and "Mexico to Argentina" is literally saying Colombia and Argentina are an upgrade from Mexico and Peru because of the fact that Mexico and Peru have darker skinned people in them...yes...the racism/colourism is THAT DEEP
I'm a Nigerian and we have some of the darkest skin. I am so happy you made this video for awareness tysm 💗! Also, People should support you no matter your skin color. If they don't, they are not worth it. It's never ugly. It's perfect!
Their noses changed as well wtf. If you notice most of their nosebridges aren't as wide after as they were before so it's not just their skin, they're changing their entire ethnicity.. ✋😬
The whole filter cleans the skin from pimples and blemishes also it fixes the eyebrows and everything like any other filter its not just the skin color that's why they might feel beautiful but actually all it takes for anyone to be beautiful in their own way is a little skin care and it doesn't matter what is ur skin color or race we all are our own different type of beauty even in the same race
Dude some were literally flaring their nostrils and pouting weirdly, like saying that lighter skin is better wasn’t enough racism for the day. Afrocentric features are just as beautiful and valid as eurocentric features, wether that be skin color, noses, lips, eyes, hair, body etc. And about the dude saying that it’s just preference, when your ‘preferences’ literally say white people look better than non white people, then your preferences are ✨ racist✨ and need to be treated through some self reflection to cure that internalized racism.
In addition to changing the skin tone it also slims the nose, contours the jaw and neck area more and makes the eyes bigger. It is basically a filter that says features on black or mixed people in society aren't pretty or naturally beautiful so they are giving something to 'fix' that. The way social media integrates racial problems so blatantly sickens me nearly as much as the people in these comments from the videos he is showing... sighhhh this is dangerous.
Yeah... I legit tried so hard to make my skin tone lighter just because people here in the Philippines think highly of you when your skin tone is lighter. I mean, my skin actually did get lighter, but growing up i started realizing that it's racist af that i'm beautiful whatever tf my skin tone is.
The filter did not just change their skin color, it made their eyes bigger, gave them a smaller nose, lightened their teeth, and cleared up their skin. Also many people made "lazy" faces before and then after they acted so confident, which also makes a difference. This is completely wrong because now they all believe they look better because of the lighter skin when there were other factors to the filter as well.
But some of the other factors also play a very important part on the filter since it's trying to make people "as white as possible" giving them European features.
It doesn't mean anything, it's just a racists way to say that she looks better now, here in Mexico have lot's of problems with racism and classism, people judge by how white is your skin, and they think that white it's prettier, we can even see it in our movies or commercials there are only white good-looking people, in a country where most of the population have darker skin.
As a person who have a friend that's a Filipino (from the Philippines) I've heard her complaining about people caring about skin more than anything. She told me her mom always tell her: "If you're white, you're pretty. That's why you should use whitening lotion or soap so you'll feel beautiful. The society cares about skin colors and not about your personality or how beautiful you are, if you're not white, you're ugly." That's the sad truth about this world, huh..
What disappoints me the most is that here in latinoamerica racism and colorism is so normalized that a lot of people refuse to aknowledge the problem and people really dont care anymore
Totally, the most affected are mestizo and indigenous people (Mexico, Peru and Bolivia for example). It is sad to see how among Latinos we attack each other, but the worst thing is that if you tell them it's wrong, they tell you "It's dark humor 🙄" i can't
@@Gianella-r1t Also AfroLatinos in Latino American countries with black population, here in Brazil the most affected are normally Black and Indigenous for sure... and even tho that its always becoming a bigger discussion here still ppl that don't think that "racism exists in Brasil" and racism against mestiços here (that are the majority of Brasilian population ) is always a topic that people put under the carpet...
It also seems to be a problem with hispanic culture within the US. My bf is puerto rican and hes told me its a fairly common belief in pr that black ppl r all ghetto and trashy while white ppl r looked up to. Its fucking disgusting that any group of ppl would have that point of view, but especially groups where darker skin tones r fairly common
I feel a little disappointed knowing that most of the tik toks come from Hispanic people what a shame, definitely not all of us think that way I am very proud of where I come from, and we all should be, an apology from all
Honestly it’s disappointing, I’m Mexican and here there’s a lot of colorism and specially this phrase "mejorar la raza" which means marrying someone whiter than you in order to have white children, and it goes constantly until all of the kids are white/mixed or fully white. They think that being dark or Moreno is something bad:(
@Personal Jesus my mom jokes about how I’m gonna marry a veracruzan men (they’re from the east coast of Mexico and they tend to be very dark skinned) and she really has something against them, excusing that they’re mean, nah ma’am you’re just racist.
The filter doesn't just make the skin lighter, it also smooths it out, that is such a sneaky way of making ppl feel uncomfortable with their skin tone.
Darkens eyebrows and does something to the eyes too. These people are literally being fooled into thinking they look better light when the truth is, the app just made them look better.......... and also turned them light.
I was also thinking if they were to actually lighten there skin I think it would probably accentuate their blemishes. Because I'm pretty sure the redness would show through more.
The thing is this filter doesn't just change skin colour but makes it smoother also makes the nose skinnier, the lips and eyes bigger. That's why they think they'd look "prettier" and this adds manipulation and it's wrong on so many levels.
Yep. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Next step is actually seeking cosmetic surgery and injections to achieve this weird look. It's bad enough with the bleaching creams. They may argue that this 'filter bleaching' is safer but it is not. It is invasive on the person's psyche and society at large.
THANK YOU I WAS THINKING THE SAME EXACT THING , HAD THE FILTER NOT CHANGED THEIR FACE PROPORTIONS THERE WOULD BE NO DIFFERENCE AND THEY WOULD JUST LOOK THE SAME BUT LIGHTER!
I’m so happy that someone who isn’t considered dark is talking about this. Sometimes when darker skinned people speak up some people label them as bitter towards lighter skinned people. So thank you Rebal D.
you right but one time(as a lighter skin person) I spoke out against colorism with my old friend group and they came for my mother cause she was black. shit is crazy
As a hispanic, with tanned brown skin, who used to hate her skin because she will get disrespected by it by racists: your skin is ur beauty,do not change it,is not disgusting or bad,is who we are made of,and it looks stunning on all of us.
Their noses bothered me greatly My attention towards this entire vid was the nose change and the skin colour THOSE NOSES THOUGH My dad gave me a clown nose and I'm teased about it at school because kids say my nose is a mix of an African and English nose and whenever I take off my glasses kids tell me to put them back on because they say I have Chinese like eyes ( I don't have problem with that but I hate being teased on features I can't change )but I am trying to love my nose Just be happy with ur skin because ur gonna be stuck with it for a very long time
fr my skin is tan so i thought it would look more pretty if it was more pale but no, once my skin started clearing up It looked so pretty. So its not about your skin color its how well you take care of it.
I'm from Peru, I can confirm that there is a lot of racism in Latin America and that having white skin make some people feel more beautiful than others, it is absurd!!!
thats totally true, im from Argentina and i keep listening people say "we cant be racist, we are latinos" right after u point a racist comment, like dude wtf
I am a dark skin black girl in South Africa, sadly I see shit like this whereverI go.Most of my friends are darksin too and we've all had trouble with loving our skin because we were bullied because of it.Luckily we now love our skin, but I feel sooo bad for people who are continuesly told that they are ugly and less than because of their skin
I don't understand how they can post that and feel good about themselves, it doesn't actually make you lightskin or white so you still walk around darker toned, that's really sad to think about how their self esteem might be afterwards.
No one even looks like the same person after this filter. It doesn’t just change skin color, but it slims your nose and face as well if you look closely. This app is completely racist and even labels certain features as ugly, which is terrible
@@lilysbox2139 I guess that's the point of that trend, there are filters that do the same without changing the skin color. This may sound dumb but people with light skin also did the trend, of course, their skin didn't change but all of the factions of their face did. which i guess that's the main point. Also, you need to take into consideration that this is a Chinese app and we all know that light skin in Asia is a big part of their beauty standard (and it doesn't come just from a racist point of view but it has a historical reason, having light skin in the past meant you didn't do labor meaning you didn't get exposed to the sun meaning you were part of the "royalty/high class" and not the working one so it would be more a classism thing than racist)
The filter doesn't change your face, the person does it, it's the beauty settings, you can change your face and your skin color, it's a 60/40 percent of fault since the settings are there but you don't need to use them, the people use the settings and change their faces to "ugly" (they could've just changed their skin color but instead changed their face to the trends look, I don't think all of the people are like them where "before" the filter). Sorry if it's confusing, english isn't really my main language.
I'm black and this trend makes me more insecure about my skin color.. I get so scared when people ask where Im from and society has come to the point where in my lifetime, I am still waiting for someone to talk shit about my skin color to me. This hurts more than it should
This makes me so fucking mad. We're all human, we're all just skeletons on the inside and I don't mean to sound morbid but we're all going to die in the end and we might as well just accept that we all look different. If everyone on the earth looked and acted the exact same way, life would be so boring. It sucks that society can't accept that and tries to fit everyone in a box of what 'looks good'. I'm sorry you've had to put up with that and I hope you can learn to accept yourself for who you are ❤️❤️❤️
I honestly didn’t even know this trend was a thing and it’s disturbing how people don’t see how this is a problem especially with everything going on in the world right now
I love how the only reason they looked "prettier" is because they brushed their hair, changed the camera angle and stopped making bizarre faces. They didn't look prettier because they were white. Influenceable children just think "oh dark bad, white good" after watching this trend and that doesn't help the racism in society.
The filter also blurrs out the skin a little and adds a little makeup, so you can't see their pimples and blemishes anymore. In reality pimples and blemishes, especially redness are a lot more prominent on light skin than on dark skin.
In the Philippines this is a huge thing as well, having whiter skin is more desirable than our natural brown skin. Almost every skin product from soap, body lotion to facial cream has whitening ingredients in them. Because having lighter skin will give more opportunities career wise and in dating. When i was younger i wanted to lighten my skin because its everywhere and it made me insecure. Now im embracing my brown skin. Sad thing is sometimes its your friend or even family members who would point them out.
And, some people are so disgusting, telling their children to marry a white American man so that their children are going to be pretty and to upgrade their genetics.
I think another reason why people in the Philippines discriminate darker-skinned Filipinos is the fact that the media (print, commercials, magazines, MOVIES AND TELEVISION) tell you that the only way you can be beautiful is if you have white skin. Lmfao Still hasn't changed. This white industry here in ph needs to be more spoken about or exposed idk.
Yes very much true. It is also a challenge to not stuck in the trap of self-victimisation bcoz darker skin folks do get bullied, sidelined, and ridiculed daily life. Worst, the first person people thought of when it comes to accusation for sth bad happened. Did happen, still happening.
I’m so sorry y’all have to go through this!! I can somewhat understand the part abt your family members pointing it out because same thing happens to me since I don’t have the beauty standard society has set for girls bodies.
It goes without saying that colorism is an issue everywhere, but the video is focused on individuals from Latin American cultures. Pointing out that it’s an issue in Latin America, doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s an issue in other places. I’m just staying on topic with the video 😅
The thing is, the filter doesn’t only change their skin colour but also erases imperfections/ retouches face features. So of course they think they look better but it’s not because the skin colour has changed, it’s the fact that their face has been retouched. But they associates it with the skin colour change because that’s the biggest change they can see. It’s a really manipulative way to have someone associate lighter skin with beauty. You’re completing right in saying it’s perpetuating extremely toxic stereotypes.
That’s my first thought, and they deliberately makes their face looks bad before but after a while, i see many people really think the lighter their color of the skin the better… you might not encounter this problem, but people with darker skin tone often to think that way, that if they have a lighter skin they would be pretty, those things…
i'm a 14 year old (African american) and i think this isn't okay because we have young black/colored people who will see this and be insecure about their skin and it isn't right. Its just sad that these people think the reason their "ugly" is cause they skin color. disappointed
13 Year old (African american) here. And your right, my younger siblings here think it is ok to have lighter skin and they be wanting to LOOK pretty. But obviously they don't know it's wrong and black is beautiful.
Another 13 year old (African American) here. I agree, I used to want to be white because I grew up thinking they had it best and that they were much prettier. It took me a while to realize my skin color is beautiful. I still don't like my appearance, but I love my skin now.
I’m an 18 year old (African) and I have just recently experienced racism and when i tell you i was fuming the whole day. It is soo upsetting and just baffling to me to see how much lighter skin or white skin is preferred. I have absolutely no problem with my skin colour and i love it. But there are people who experience much more worse than me as if we’re not all humans at the end of the day. Racism will never die out and these people will never learn. Pretty much where I’m from (East Africa) and Asia promote white/fair skin A LOT. There are soo many ads in Asia that do blackface whilst trying to promote their uselessness😭
thing is, what makes them look better with the filter is that it clears their skin, not that it makes it lighter. Literally ANY skintone looks good if you have clear, healthy-looking skin. 🤦♀🙄😒
I have fell victim to skin lightening until I had a daughter that's darker than me, it was then that I knew I had to stop. She knows how beautiful her dark skin is, because it really is, so in my family we embrace it, we also stopped relaxing our hair and shes way more confident than I ever was. Im greatful
this is ridiculous! As someone with brown skin, I've battled the "light skin is beautiful trauma" for a long time. Most of these people didn't realize that the filter made their face look more chiseled. Those people should just focus on maintaining a healthy weight and drink water for clear & healthy skin. Honestly can't believe people started comparing nationalities.
Same here, even my own mother tried hard to make me bleach my skin and I kept refusing. I had acne issues, but I started properly taking care of my skin in a healthy way that won't damage it nor change it's color and now my face is clean and smooth and I feel super comfortable with it. Yet after all that my mother and some other people will keep suggesting to use lightning creams, making it seem as my face is still flawed somehow...
The filter also erased the imperfections like acne, pores and skin texture. That's kinda what made them think it made them look good. Not the lighter skin. But all these tiktok videos just propagate the idea that "white" is pretty.
I know I am really late to this comment but I have brown skin as well, and I was playing a game with my best friend and she told me “to make my character skin lighter cause it was too dark and didn’t look good” . I was so hurt and to this day I still think about her comment..
@@Daisy_518 You're right! I kinda missed that part about skin texture. I've grown to fall in love with my tan skin tone. The only thing I try to care about and monitor is pigmentation. As a Mexican American myself, I can attest Latin America has had a huge internalized racism/colorism problem. Like you said, this is directly because of society and our histories of colonialism, and people started believing that lighter and Eurocentric features are “better”. There was even a saying that if a lighter skinned person marries a darker skinned person when they have kids it’ll “mejorar la raza” (“improve the race”), which is absolutely vile and it pisses me off just writing it. Thankfully, it’s changing SOMEwhat in more recent times, with more Indigenous, Afro-Latino, etc representation and pride... but as we can see from these TikToks, there’s still a longgg way to go.. I love your vids Rebal and normally LoL at the funny content, but I’m glad you brought this to light as well 👏🏼

si, también la cagan con el "chiste" de los peruanos del inicio del video; siempre hay un país de turno al que le joden o por tener color de piel más oscura o ser "feos" o nariz grande.
As a Colombian I think at least here, having Caucasian features seems to be more important than skin color. I'm tall with light skin but indigenous features, and my sister is shorter and darker than me but she has a very caucasian looking face and green eyes, so she was always considered the pretty one.
I watched a mini documentary about skin lightening/bleaching being a big beauty trend in different countries like Peru, Portugal, Columbia, lots of places etc... and people sometimes die from botched skin lightening procedures and products. lots of those kinds of products slip through the cracks as well, and they contain dangerous amounts of mercury!
That’s just so toxic, beauty has nothing to do with the tone of your skin. Beauty itself doesn’t even need to be shown on the outside it’s about what’s inside tbh. Racism is just so bad that at this point it’s being normalized and we need to stop that. Thanks for educating people Best friend ♥️

But I will say this. It almost looked like there way a filter in the first one as well. Also.. there was more than just a skin color difference. There were thinner more defined brows in 2nd with a chiseled jaw and thinner nose. There were many differences in features apart from skin
@@salma-kl7ef idk, these 'eurocentric' features in the filter are not even realistic to what the average white person looks like either so I wouldn't call them that when even white people can't fit into those standards and don't look anywhere near what is portrayed here (well maybe with a ton of makeup some young girls can achieve that look but most of them will use these filters too) 😅 these are "cgi fantasy video game character" or "hollywood actor" features rather than eurocentric features. It's pretty uncomfortable to see people attributing certain features to white people where there's actually so much diversity in european features. These filters is do stupid. I have darker skin and growing up my mom always says it's because I don't wash myself properly??? It's so toxic and just makes people hate themselves for something they don't have control over. There is a charm in every skin tone and people need to stop thinking only one is pretty...
Same, my family and my neighbors always said "how could you have dark skin when your mother's skin is fair?", they probably forget that my dad has dark skin. Beauty standard my ass
I mean bestie isn't wrong, this doesn't sit right, no one should be made uncomfortable in their own skin. All skin colours are beautiful,It's the society that makes this happen sadly.
The filter changes not just their skin tone but their whole face but let's be honest, objectively good looking people will still be beautiful no matter the skin color. They can be blue, green or other colors of the rainbow and they'd be still looking cute af. Confidence is also a plus. Skin color does not make you any less or more beautiful.
When it comes to racism a lot of people simplify the issue unknowingly, racism is not *just* about skin colour - it's about features. I've recieved (especially a few years ago in secondary school - when people didn't hide their biases so well) plenty of derogatory comments about these features from people who can't see or understand what their words are a symptom of. The issue is that black features -beyond commodified big lips which are now (humourously) a highly praised asset on white people - are not seen as 'objectively attractive', people are still contouring their noses right? People are still hyping up very Eurocentric bone structures, my round-faced Nigerian ancestors aren't really meant to be included in the beauty standard of angular jaws, narrow high cheek bones and tall skinny nose bridges. When people talk about preferring blondes to brunette are they unintentionally revealing that non-whites who very often aren't naturally blonde, aren't factored into their equation of beauty. Everyone can have their 'preference,' as I've heard people say defensively, but why do peoples preferences often speak to the fact that many types of 'other' are harmfully sidetracked?
@@nyeguono I acknowledge it's a generalisation, in the same way that not all of black or mixed black people have wider noses like I do - but it is a characteristic that crops up alot. For example, I myself as well as everyone else (I hope, at least, because people can be very stupid) know not all black people or mixed black people have larger lips. I'm not saying I don't have relatives with more angular faces, I'm not dismissing that. You feel me?
It actually hurts seeing people think this way. I am also dark skinned but now I love myself and have confidence in myself. In India too, it's a big problem. I have a cousin sister who is literally just 4 years old and an angel but I have seen some stingy aunties from my own family telling her kids to stay away from her cause she is dark. Hope we can change this way of thinking and start loving ourselves.
So proud of you that you can love yourself! It took me quite a few years to accept myself though honestly I don't even think I'm 100% there yet. And because I clearly don't have to struggle with racism, I really admire people who cope with it on top of that. You're super strong
The only difference is that when they have a filter, their nose is twice as small and their skin looks even, as if they are wearing powder, blush ... In fact, the color of the skin itself does not make any difference in their beauty. Also when they don’t have a filter, they look sad and uninterested. When they put the filter on, they suddenly shoot from another angle, they smile, looking happy, have a better hairstyle ... In fact, the skin color on this filter makes absolutely no difference, the real difference is everything else ... Strange how they only notice the color of the skin as a change ...
@@xemerald_amuletx3534 Agreed but it's a Kpop beauty standard. That's why you see very few deeper skin-toned Kpop artists. Because they don't see brown skin as the right kind of beauty.
Like look at Kpop Idols and tell me what you see. I'm not saying it's fabulous. I much rather prefer people feel happy and loved in their own skin as is. But this looks like filters people use to look like they are Kpop stars.
There's also a "beauty filter" in that white skin filter. Nobody's skin looks that smooth and poreless. It's even worse because it makes them think that white = perfection but if that filter kept their greasy skin, pimples, blackheads, etc., they'd quickly see that imperfections are actually easier to see on white skin.
Yes! Exactly! As a redhead with hella pale skin, I envy people with darker skin tones because you can see literally every flaw on my skin istg. Pimples, blackheads, puffiness just from rubbing my face too hard. It sucks T-T No matter what color we are, beauty standards will always say we're wrong in some way.
Not necessarily. For example, scars are much less noticeable on light skin than on dark skin. Anyways, it seems like you’re against supremacy of skin tone but it’s exactly what you’re doing when you try to point out inferior things about one skin tone.
This was so hurtful to watch, as a latina I've always hated this the most when I'm in South America. Why can't we all support each other instead of putting each other down?
It literally changes so much more than the skin colour though, like bigger eyes and a smaller nose, its fake, so of course they're gonna look better. I hate the disgust they have on their face while looking into the camera with their real skin colour.
@@colourfulsouls they have pimples before and the filter removes them. Of course they look better but not because of their skin colour. Maybe if they started taking care of themselves they would have more confidence in their skin and less internalized racism.
@@hahaha3025 yes, but it's adding that on to "make a trend", and it's a disgusting "trend" because it's racist and even people with darker skin are saying they dislike their dark skin. If this world has gone so far to even make darker skinned people hate their own skin colour, then I'm afraid for our future
The filter doesn't only change the filter into lighter skin, it also changes their features. All of it is disgusting! Embrace your beauty no matter what color!

Girl in the thumbnail changed to lighter skin, small nose, slimmer eyebrows, pink lips, and her eyes got more slim...
Some of them are making their nostrils bigger on purpose to make the change more drastic
@Username is a tiktok filter but you can find it in an app called snow

But some of the other factors also play a very important part on the filter since it's trying to make people "as white as possible" giving them European features.

yeah thats why they said the power of filter right ? not only color

The thing is, the filter doesn’t only change their skin colour but also erases imperfections/ retouches face features.
YES 👏
Because, usually pigmentation is a sign of hormonal imbalance or if you are developing insulin resistance.
Tiktok is ruining a generation of people with all these unrealistic expectations.
I love your vids Rebal and normally LoL at the funny content, but I’m glad you brought this to light as well 👏🏼
I understand 100%!
oh God yess😔 Im brazilian and this is a really complicated matter here. some people think that as a country composed by so many ethnic groups racism would not be so strong, but its really not like that...
si, también la cagan con el "chiste" de los peruanos del inicio del video; siempre hay un país de turno al que le joden o por tener color de piel más oscura o ser "feos" o nariz grande.

As someone who grew up in a fairly white place I was always so mad abt my skin color, hair color, my race. im an asian, south asian to be exact, I have always wanted to be white. I used to go to school, see those blonde girls with white skin and rosy cheeks. I was jealous because I had brown skin, my eyes had small eyelids, my cheeks were never rosy, my hair was black, and I js hated it. I soon grew up and got over my "want to be a white girl" phase. im still kind of insecure about my skin color but not AS much. I appreciate my culture and my ethnicity and I embrace it. I love wearing lehengas, listening to south asian songs and just appreciating the stuff I do, celebrating holidays and stuff
As a kid i used to look in a mirror and imagine myself with lighter skin because i thought I’d look better. Thank god this didn’t exist back then otherwise I would’ve hated how i look now.

And bcs of this I tried to make my skin more lighter (I hate this beauty standard) 😭
Yh it makes their nose smaller and their lips smaller. Basically Eurocentric features
Tysm☺️

@@nyeguono I acknowledge it's a generalisation, in the same way that not all of black or mixed black people have wider noses like I do - but it is a characteristic that crops up alot. For example, I myself as well as everyone else (I hope, at least, because people can be very stupid) know not all black people or mixed black people have larger lips. I'm not saying I don't have relatives with more angular faces, I'm not dismissing that. You feel me?
This is extremelly sad. It's very important to talk about these negative messages/ideas

Yea, pimples, blackheads, etc are way more visible on white skin 😭 as it’s fking hard to get rid of :/
Yes! Exactly! As a redhead with hella pale skin, I envy people with darker skin tones because you can see literally every flaw on my skin istg.
