My theory: so Mirabelle has no gift, but abuela’s candle is what gives everyone their gifts. So maybe Mirabelle is the one that’s going to inherit the candle since it appears that abuela may not have a gift of her own. So it’s a possibility that those who have no gifts are to ones that will inherit the candle when they’re older. Just a thought though
