The best kept secret in the Caribbean. I've been there four times. Four more times won't be enough. The review didn't mention it, but the Riu beach is also much nicer than the Atlantis beach.
I appreciate your videos for the Riu. We are trying to decide between Sandals Ochi, Riu Bahamas , and St. James Club Antigua. One question, I saw a review that said the guest rooms are freezing and you can’t control the temp. Is that true? If so, we won’t make love not one single time. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Room service is pretty good, they have fridges stocked with beer and there are dispensers for alcohol. The food ranges from traditional breakfasts to Caribbean type food!
That restaurant kicked you out for having shorts on...WTH..I can promise I surely would not have went back either. ..did they have a HUGE sign up telling ppl ...Oh your not allowed to come in and dine/ eat while wearing shorts..paints only. ..wow how stupid. ...I would never eat in NO resturant that trys telling ppl how they must dress just to get to eat there...no way
Yeah I tried to make the best of the situation, i don't remember if they had a sign up, they might have, but it really was the best restaurant they had!
not trying to be a smart ass BUT i'm glad you would not return. Such resorts try to accommodate a variety of guests in different ways. When people are celebrating weddings/special occasions, it makes them feel better to get dressed up for a night or 2. If i were getting married there I would hope we could go out and feel fancy and not have shorts and flip flops on when if we're suited nicely. Resorts don't want you to leave there property to feel you want more upscale dining experience.

I would understand if ppl are wearing swimming trunks, or shorts that have a strong outdoor-like athletic attire, but if I was wearing my typical tan cargo shorts and a casual t-shirt, I would be pissed. It's the Bahamas... it's tropical weather... most ppl are are wearing clothing to keep cool. Strange to have to travel back to your room and change into pants..... just to eat meal.... then have to travel back again and change.. just to go continue outside again and enjoy yourself. It's a vacation.. and that whole demand sounds like a job.... I'm sure if you're having a wedding, you would reserve a place, not eat with the general crowd. And special occasion?... umm, it's a tropical island.. EVERYONE is having a special occasion.. it's called a VACATION... let loose and have fun. I'll happily pass on them with an attitude, 1-star them on Google in front of them before I leave, and go to virtually any other place that doesn't have a stick up their ass.

I stayed here in 1997 when the Riu was Holiday Inn....LOVED IT!!!!!!! I remember the Caribbean jerk chicken station❤❤❤❤❤

Great vid. How was the nightlife there ? And how would you generally describe the crowd at the resort? Older younger, , parties, couples etc
Night life is super fun tons of stuff to do. The resort literally goes from an older crowd to young couples to people in their 20's.

the weather is incredible, even if it rains its not terrible and doesn't last. the weather is amazing and htere is so much to do!

No Karaoke that i saw from the hotels or places nearby, but the riu puts on performances almost every night.

you can do both, but i usually walked right from the front. it is literally right next to the riu.
