    Your fitness level was on full display here but Steve was even more impressive. I have created a loop in my area that's 13km long of hard trails (BD-DBD) that I ride on my hardtail and I can only finish it on a good day. I'm in aw of how you two just smashed a weeks worth of riding in one go.

    For a guy from The Netherlands -think average gradient 0%- this is really mind-blowing footage, well actually for most people I imagine.
    But there is a big difference between 'I might slip in the next corner and end up in the bushes' and 'I might slip in the next corner and drop 300 meters down an abyss' It looks pretty dramatic to me 😀

    A peccary is a medium-sized pig-like hoofed mammal of the family Tayassuidae. They are found throughout Central and South America and in the southwestern area of North America. They usually measure between 90 and 130 cm in length, and a full-grown adult usually weighs about 20 to 40 kg. Wikipedia

    I have a question for Macky. I too have a shaved head and living in Georgia I sweat a lot while riding. I wear a Headsweats Shorty beanie under my helmet to help absorb some of the sweat but I'm wondering if you've found a better solution?

    • @sydandmacky
      @sydandmacky  4 роки тому +1

      Not really. I used to wear a band (Squirt Sweat Sucker), but now almost never do. Part of it is that I don't sweat much, but we also spend most of my time in places with minimal humidity... 🤷‍♂️

      Macky flatters me. He's a super humble dude and one of the most talented riders I've ever had the pleasure of riding with. And he's an all around amazing dude (as I'm sure you know by now). What blows me away with macky is how effortless he makes things look. He rides insanely hard stuff with so much ease. I learn a lot from every ride I join him on. It was an honor to join him for this.

    Sweet ride. I love Miatas... or is it MX-5?

  • @Guineson
    @Guineson 4 роки тому

    Great riding, crappy views 🙄😅. I've been pushing my rides more and more and had a 35 mile pretty technical ride planned out here in NJ, but my axle snapped 36 hours before the ride. As i was unable to fix it up before the ride i used a full rigid fatbike and boy was that a game changer on amplifying difficulty. I still attempted the ride but cut it off at 20 miles as i had to make the decision that i was worn down and fatigued. Definitely looking forward to giving it another go and pushing those boundaries.

    • @sydandmacky

    Huge fan of quiet hubs. My DT Swiss 36T is pretty good, but I wouldn't mind an Onyx in the future! I know Shimano had some super quiet stuff they were working on... is that what you're on? Shimano Scylence stuff?

    • @sydandmacky
      @sydandmacky  4 роки тому

      Honestly not sure if this is the Scylence, but it's pretty silent except at super low speeds, so maybe!

  • @matthiasb8605

    Very nice tour and great video! But your new helmet looks like a XC race helmet. Does it really give you enough protection in rocky terrain like this? Stay save, no injuries now...

    • @sydandmacky
      @sydandmacky  4 роки тому

      It doesn't have as much rear protection as an Enduro style helmet, but that doesn't really make much difference if you don't land on the back of your head. Obviously crazy things can happen, but I was pretty sure I wasn't going to OTB so I felt comfortable wearing it.
