After hours and days of searching for a video that explains simply how to animate your own character, I run into this GEM. Thank you!!!! This video is exactly what I was looking for. You're the best.
Hands down the best tutorials I have been able to find for Adobe's Character Animator and Adobe Illustrator. Thanks for saving me a tremendous amount of time on the basic foundation for a head.
I love that you did this video while you’re still a beginner. I’m a beginner also and sometimes people who know the software very well skip over little steps that a new person needs to understand or not miss. Great job and you got a new sub! Can’t wait to see other videos you do on this subject.
Thanks Tammie! I've been super busy with a new job but I'm going to get back to this program and make more tutorials because it is just so awesome! I try not to ever edit my videos because even when I'm using a program I'm super comfortable with, I still forget things, mess, and more importantly, remember how it was to first learn a program and missing minor things which could be major when taking the time to figure out what I was doing! :)
Yes, you did a wonderful job and I was able to follow along and create my first puppet head along with you as you taught. So as you can guess, I definitely would appreciate you doing a follow-up tutorial on making mouths. Make sure you include the differences in changing the perspective of making a straight forward versus a side profile set of mouths as you have already done. Love your teaching style. It makes us newbies feel that we can do it!!!
This is so cool. I’m barely learning how to use adobe and I recently want to do live streams. After looking through your video I want to give it a try at making my own puppet. The way you explained everything was very understandable.
ok this is perfect and i have been thinking about doing this for my live streams and your puppet is facing the way i wanted. looking forward to checking out this series
I'm slowly getting better at using the program and I'm going to have a new video out soon for it. Just making a mouth set but also, it seems to be working really well as a way to make Livestream and long recorded content!
Thanks for stepping up i appreciate the way you explain very easy to catch your explanation my request to keep continue character animation software my big request keep continue in different projects thanks very much
This was so incredibly helpful! As a person with a disability, I sometimes find it hard to follow really advanced instructions. You teach this in such a step by step manner that it's very easy to understand. I do have one question though. I'm not sure if maybe it's because I wear glasses and am visually impaired and maybe it's just not tracking my eyes properly; but the blinks don't work for me.
That was great! I followed along and could make everything work. Really nice tutorial man Thank you so much. This will actually make future animation a possibility for me. I love that it updates in real time from Illustrator as well, them both being Adobe products.
Love your detailed videos man, very clear and easy to follow. Please make a video on how you created a your sets of mouths! Can’t find any decent ones in your style, it will be really useful 🤞stay safe
Thank you. I just discovered I had this program a few days ago too and it’s been out for at least two years. I’d like to see how you went about making a head that is not round. Could you start with an actual picture of a head (cartoonized) and animate that somehow? )
Yes, I'm pretty sure you can! I saw this video by Chad Troftgruben awhile ago when I first discovered this program and he's actually a well known animation tutorial creator here on UA-cam and actually uses the same animation program I use (MOHO) But this tutorial he made shows you how to use actual pictures to create a talking head with Adobe Character Animator! ua-cam.com/video/Ja8jknFH-W4/v-deo.html
I aint gone lie while watching this video I got so hyped.... Had me yelling talk to me nice or dont talk to me twice and aint no one was even talking to me
Hey this was good man thanks great job. Can you make a video on how you imported your slick animation character into the bottom left of the video tutorial? Like live character how? lol
Awesome! just did my first cartoon face. For some reason my pupils aren't moving the correct way like yours are. Maybe it's not scanning my eyes properly?
Been looking for this video. Thanks for your work. Really helped me 👍 a deep dive into the mouthset would be good.. Will check your other videos as you may have done it already! Thanks again. You should have waaayy more views on this
Thank you Mr. Poptoogi, this helps me a lot! yes please, I want to know how to make a mouth & body puppet, in adobe characters using illustrator :) Thanks
You did a great job and you are just learning. I have been playing around with the program for months and still have certain problems and I am just working on the head. My main problem is the eyes. I want to make almond shape eyes and eyes with an iris and pupil s. And, then next when you know more do a class with using more than one puppet head in a single scene talking to each other. You can look at my problems on youtube Outta The Mouths of Babes. Plus a class on using the midi keyboard
can I see how did you make the mouth of your character or puppet in your next video, I'm a newbie and soon to be a animator hehe 1st college student by the way
For this, yeah, you'll need Adobe After Effects but you can create your character in any paint of graphics program! GIMP, Krita and Inkscape are all free!
@@Poptoogi awe thanks for your prompt response... yes I find Adobe after effects too expensive... I would certainly purchase it if I could own my copy, but in actual fact Adobe are renting their product which I find very misleading and unjust...
@poptoogi hey man, by naming the layers as u described within illustrator. Will we be able to have better control of the individual layers in the other Adobe programs such as after effects or Adobe animate when animating?
Hi I'm starting to use Adobe Illustrator and I'm trying to create my characters from scratch. How do you create the layers for your character in 22:54 ?
I know, long time since I made this BUT seeing your comment reminded me so I just made a tutorial on making mouths! I still need to edit it but if you message me on facebook I'll send you a link to the unedited version tomorrow DeAndre! facebook.com/poptoogi
hi good guide , but i failed to make all parts work , at first i created circle like you said , then i created whole eye like you said , and then issues come out , my circle still works , but whole eye does not react to any of my moves from camera, can you explain how to solve it ? will appreciate alot
Great 👍🏾 video tutorial by Poptoogi once again! And a great shoutout from Poptoogi to the main Character Animation channel (if you want to know, just watch this video)! 😁✨🌍✨🙌🏾✨🙌🏻✨🌍✨😁
Awesome video, I am a beginner and I am interested in making a character of myself and using it as an explainer -- However, I am learning the software; however, are you available to help create or assist me in doing so -- as I have all of the software I am a VO Artist? thank you in advance --
Hi Joaquin, I don't have much time these days as I'm working for a company full time now and what freetime I do have I use to make tutorials but I haven't been able to for awhile now. If you really want to make a character in this program there are people that are far better at it than me AND I know you can hire some the guys ad digital puppets digitalpuppets.co.uk/ that will make you the highest quality characters that you can find! They also have free and cheaper puppets you can modify yourself without a lot of work. Check them out! Not only can they make stuff for you but have great tutorials here on youtube as well which is how I'm learning the program.
If you are new to animating Adobe is really good for making quick animations. If you want to make whole cartoons and want to really get into animating MOHO is better!
how do you even export the illustrator to Character animatetor been searching all over the net and no videos are made. online like your you already have it in character anmator and not showing how to export illustrator to Character animator
It's most likely something to do with labeling or assigning the head layer wrong. I still have a lot of trouble making things work just right in it because I'm still really new to the program. You might want to check with OK samurai here on youtube because he actually works with adobe on the program and knows it very well!
