Destiny is coping super hard I dont care about open-relationships or whatever but if it’s a constant problem that people seem to be able to constantly wedge themselves in-between you and your partner then thats the fault of the open relationship no? I don’t see how people are doing mental gymnastics to justify that bc if this was a monogomous relationship you just call it cheating and move on but because they want to have their cake and eat it too they are opening themselves up to getting emotional attatched and maybe even manipulated just how Melina was. Open relationships are just a slightly more fancy and more complicated way of saying friends with benefits.
You essentially only want the benefits of being in a relationship but not the responsibility or loyalty that a relationship requires. An open relationship almost always ends *because* it involves/invited a third, whether it be like in this situation where one leaves for someone else or it's over the fact one has grown envious/tired of their significant other going out with the side piece.
Overall open relationships are just very risky in general.
@@Warlord-dc5units very telling Destiny has this way of thinking where he wants his cake his way because he goes “well if im in a poly relationship the expectation of how much time I spend with my partner will go down” Like he literally wants a relationship where he doesnt have to put as much time and effort in and the time you would usually spend strengthening your bond is offloaded onto other people and things. That’s like the PERFECT recipe for someone to come into your relationship dynamic and mess shit up because you literally think you don’t have to spend as much time on your relationship. All it takes is for someone to spend the time YOU should have spent on your partner to show them there are people who will treat them exactly how they want and in comparison its going to make you look really shitty. I think its common sense no? You think you don’t have to spend as much time w/ your partner and split your time between multiple people, meanwhile theres someone that is willing to put more effort into that relationship and on top of that you allow that its like simple logic you would think.
