Allison Arngrim was very close to Steve Tracy who played her husband Percival and she cared for him as he battled AIDS. She volunteers for an AIDS program which teaches people to learn about the disease and supplied food to the sick. She was devastated when he passed.
Ms. Arngrim, you are such an inspiration for anyone who goes through something as head turning as fame as well as abuse to come out on top!!! Keep educating us and keep fighting!!
Sadly, a lot of Nellie was channelled from the abuse she suffered by her brother. I've read Confessions of a Prairie Bitch but I need to buy it!!! Living in 1874 conditions ...P.U. I guess the cast became nose-blind.
This was a great interview. Tom Gregory did a fantastic job asking very good questions and it was paced right too! Alison Arngrim is such a treasure! Her autobiography book is awesome too! Confessions of a Prairie Bitch.....I wish this interview was longer haha
I recently just watched Little House on the Praire. Binge watching all the episodes and then all behind the scenes etc. So sad it's over. The wholesome viewing was so good. Now struggling to find anything that comes close. Trying the Walton's but nothing competes with little house. Any suggestions?
@@Yahowah777 ...Try "family" starring Sada Thompson, James Broderick, Kristy McNichol, Gary Frank, & Meredith Baxter-Birney. It's my go-to quality retro show. There are episodes posted.
Alison, its wonderful that you are helping out children . I am very happy to see you are doing that . When you played Nellie Olsen on little house on the prairie you were, are a very talented actress . You did a very fine job of the character of Nellie . I enjoyed the programs very much .
She played the character of Nellie to the Tee. She's an excellent actress. And she's not a one trick pony because her stand up work displays her versatility.
She loved playing Nellie, she didn’t have to behave all the time. She said if Melissa Gilbert acted up she let America down… but her? Naw, that’s just Nellie
I admire Allison so much in all she's done. She is to be admired as she turned so much around for good and is a very pleasant girl. Although she had much to endure much was turned around for good in this world! Much l9ve Allison. Jamie Marie Baran
LOL! Her mother, Norma MacMillan did the voices of Caroline and John-John Kennedy on the two LP record albums "The First Family" parody of the Kennedy White House! They're hilarious!
Completely different from the character she played. As Laurence Olivia would say that’s called acting. What a wonderful personality. I understand now why their faces were so serious in the 1800s pictures. Who could smile with all those odors going around.
Like the way he says..."you were relentlessly bitchy you weren't attractive or anything and that wig was horrible"...But she was more than half the attraction of that series, because if she wasn't in it that series wouldn't have gotten half the ratings or lasted half as long as it did because she was as funny as she was nasty, I mean the lady is very much a comedian...Oh as I mentioned the way he said "You weren't attractive", well that's were I have a difference in opinion, I thought she was a very pretty girl, in fact the prettiest girl in the whole show. However a very talented actress.
Tom Gregory I wish either you or Alison had mentioned the 26 states that would not prosecute family perpetrators of rape and molestation of other family. It you can point me toward that information I would much appreciate your assistance.
Well I was thinking more what it was really like during the 1800's; ot the Hollywood depiction. I was actually thinking of the way people smelled. I always get a kick out of films like THE HARVEY GIRLS where, even though the streets are mud, the dress are immaculate. I just read a book, PERILS OF THE EARTH ---- amazing about that time. The author is Mary Mann Hamilton........her memoir.
Allison is one of a kind very iconic. however i dont like the way she interviews. she tries to talk over the host, talks a little too much, she needs to slowdown and take a deep breath and listen more, we love you Allison but too much talking is not good. even when you are a guest on a talk show
Alison Arngrim had such an actress potential but as a pity she didn't make any career after The little house. Maybe her Nellie performance was too strong as other big series characters ?
sad that Nellie had to wear that stupid , painful wig ! Nellie was 11 when she started playing on Little House ! I think Landon was to rough on all the cast members on Little House ! thanks
I wonder, if she could choose how to live things over again, would she accept the role of such a despised character? She did it so well that maybe her eventual typecasting was even more detrimental to her career than playing angelic roles was for her compatriots.
@@auntiechercher4266 I've always believed she could have had a truly great career if not for the stupid typecasting. It stopped Burt Ward from getting the lead for "The Graduate" and Nancy McKeon from playing "Monica" on Friends. When will studio executives finally get it through their thick, greedy heads that potential audiences might just have an open mind and accept and embrace their beloved television icons in other roles later on?
On “little House “ Her and Her Mother were just Outstanding! Thanks for all the wonderful memories
Allison Arngrim was very close to Steve Tracy who played her husband Percival and she cared for him as he battled AIDS. She volunteers for an AIDS program which teaches people to learn about the disease and supplied food to the sick. She was devastated when he passed.
She is such a professional person and well spoken.
Ms. Arngrim, you are such an inspiration for anyone who goes through something as head turning as fame as well as abuse to come out on top!!! Keep educating us and keep fighting!!
Wonderful interview! Thank you Alison for all your hard work fighting to protect children:)! God bless you!
I'm just gonna say it: My two favorite actors on the show were Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim, love them!
She has such a great attitude. Little House still the best show.
Could she be anymore awesome? Truly she’s dynamite
I love watching her as Nellie, she is an amazing actress.
Amazing lady and actress😊
Loved watching Little House then and still do❤️
The whole world loves u Allison , especially in Australia where Little house on the prairie was HUGE
She was remarkable as Nellie, and had wonderful instinct as a young actress.
Sadly, a lot of Nellie was channelled from the abuse she suffered by her brother. I've read Confessions of a Prairie Bitch but I need to buy it!!!
Living in 1874 conditions ...P.U. I guess the cast became nose-blind.

I definitely grew up with LH. loved it then and now! miss the days of wholesome family programming!
I never watch new TV ---- just old programs that I basically just use as "noise Company"

Alison Arnigrim was a great awesome actress she played Nellie Olsson so well. She modeled too because she so beautiful n still is.
Very interesting and Alison is great to listen to
What a lovely human being!
🙌RESPECT !
Nellie was my favorite character. I love her book.
I absolutely loved watching little house on the prairie!
She's wonderful. Lifetime should do a movie about her and Laura Engel in their older age.

I LOVE HER!!
Loving your channel Tom.
Absolutely nice lady, being mean in movies was just acting .

Such a sweet lady!!!!!! I adore her
Alison is GREAT
A very interesting lady. So fun and lots of spunk.
No wonder a great actress. ❤😂
Alison is an excellent actress
I LOVE HER!
Excellent interview
Marc Andrews thank you.
Love Alison Arngrim. Sadly, LHOTP tanked after season 7 when she left the show.
I liked her she good actress
She is such a classy lady 😊
LOL! Her mother, Norma MacMillan did the voices of Caroline and John-John Kennedy on the two LP record albums "The First Family" parody of the Kennedy White House! They're hilarious!
I loved the Nellie wig so much I have ordered one for my blow- up doll .
Your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.
I love Little house. I would love to live in the 1800s.
still cute, miss Arngrim ;)

the contradiction!
she is such a nice person.
read her book "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch"

I'd love to see her stand-up show
And meet her.
she looked much younger than 13 when she started LHOTP
Wasn’t she 11?
Ok, I'll just say it - the character she played helped get me through puberty. And let me say I didn't watch her show for the wholesome life lessons!
My favorites little house charters are Nelly and her mom Mary her mom and dad Mr Edwards..and Mr Nelson..
love alison. she is so inpsiring
Half-Pint and Nellie- the first cat fight on TV.
She’s v engaging to listen to reminds me a bit of Jodie foster
I am surprised that she didn't get other acting roles after little house on the prairie ended.
The smell..."brutal"...love that
Tom Gregory I wish either you or Alison had mentioned the 26 states that would not prosecute family perpetrators of rape and molestation of other family. It you can point me toward that information I would much appreciate your assistance.
People like it because Michael Landon made real of what their lives were like in those tough days.
I think she looks like Nicola King, from Emmerdale. It would be great, if she could turn up in the village, as Nicola's long lost older twin sister.
Sorry Tom, you ask her if she can imagine what it was like in the 1800's. Gee, you think? Thank you for this interview though! I subscribed.
Well I was thinking more what it was really like during the 1800's; ot the Hollywood depiction. I was actually thinking of the way people smelled. People in the 1800 had morals.
Did you know Allison works for lgbtq rights? Indeed she has morals.. She also has helped people with HIV for 25 years . I love her also .
MANY PEOPLE HAVE MORALS.
sad that Nellie had to wear that stupid , painful wig ! Nellie was 11 when she started playing on Little House ! I think Landon was to rough on all the cast members on Little House ! thanks
Excellent interview. I don’t hate her as much now lol
What did she do to you?
Is that a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home?
No it's an A. Quincy Jones. The actor Gary Cooper commissioned it in 54
Is it "percocious"? I thought it was "precocious" for all these years!
They say we learn something new everyday!
It is precocious.
Man, the rack, the rack.......simply amazing.
Good point. Little house kids are nuts now
I wonder, if she could choose how to live things over again, would she accept the role of such a despised character? She did it so well that maybe her eventual typecasting was even more detrimental to her career than playing angelic roles was for her compatriots.
Alison did a good job playing Nellie . . . and despite the nature of the character she was likable as the character and the actress.

His soul may be happy but the way he treated women and Karen Grassle were terrible.
Except for the father and tabloids were not influential.
Ñ be by v be the first but
She basically became an actress cause her parents were actors unlike Melissa Sue Anderson who became an actress cause she really was talented
