I'm so glad this 401 is seeing life once more... next the people at the airport will see it fly and most likely cry because they literally watched that poor bird rotting away and here comes this guy looks at it and goes.... I wanna fix it ... I hope to see this thing fly.... keep it up y'all ❤❤
@@rebuildrescue I would love to come out and photograph it on the day it’s revealed! Been a long time viewer of the show and even bought a tag! I’ve also been a plane spotter for 13 years and take great pride in my photography! Cheers from Colorado!

I’ve been following the 401 project since day one, as somebody who went to school to learn to be an a and P and got certified in it, this project, the engine, especially which I’ve personally overhauled, only advice I wanna give you is righty tighty lefty loose and 6 to 8 twist per inch on your wire!
Don’t also forget…. Torque, measure, check and paint mark as a visual reference. Back in my race car days after my crew forgot to torque a wheel we adopted a number of checks and balances.
The exhaust AD is important because behind that firewall is a fuel line that goes over to the other wing crossfeed/shutoff valve and if compromised (burnt thru) there’s no way to shut off the fuel feed from the main tip fuel tank during a leak (fire). Inspect every 50 hrs.
@@fanatamon Cessna had discussions about adding another valve to use for this purpose but decided not to. I’m not aware of why not but was involved with twin Cessnas heavily those years. (Cessna dealer)

Many thanks to A&P Pete and to the rebuildrescue team for giving us a glimpse of your process making the 401 airworthy again. Qualified personnel who follow the show and actually show up to help out. Wow. Good luck! Let's Go!!!

@@daytonpyroI thought it was interesting that they said he couldn't work as a contractor for anyone else at the airport. I think that's key to getting Greg back.
I always look forward Saturday morning 😂 It so cool to see some activity being done on our favorite bird. Yippy!! ❤ I think this is huge for the 401. $30,000 exhaust & turbo system! Wow! Good job guys! 😊 Thank you Pete for helping out, we all Appreciate it!
This 401 has been a part of my family for the last few years, I won’t give up and loose hope on seen it fly one day.. can’t wait for that “clear prop” chant once it’s done.
I really like how you're showing again more of the figuring-it-out-discussions. And how putting in a puzzle piece the wrong way is no drama and will just be corrected. To me this feels a little like back to the roots that IMHO made this channel great. At least that's what I liked about the channel. I don't care too much about aviation, but I certainly do about rebuilding and these discussions are always part of the process.
It’s so crazy how far this has come… I still remember the “Will the engine start videos” and the “someone is trying to say they own the 401” videos… and like 20 episodes of pulling bird nests out 🫣
Well OK if you’re gonna tape a picture of the directions on the side of the plane, it might just turn out! Good thinking. A man who is willing to read the directions! 😂❤️😎🏴
Thankyou for your tireless commitment to completing this rebuild!! I’ve learned so much along the way, and it’s been a joy! Seems you’ll have a new “old” plane in the end and there’s nothing better!!!
Wow! Now I can see why planes are so expensive - but what an engine. It is looking so good. I can't believe how much different everything looks now. Blessings from the UK guys. Keep up the good work.
Can't wait to see the 401 all fired up. You know, engine noise, exhaust smoke, gauges showing info, all that cool stuff when an aircraft comes to life.🛩️
Hi guys . Well just remember that any kind of mechanical work on a plane has to be 100 % . There is zero room for any error's. But you seem to have it all looking good . Congrats guys .
To finish the aircraft you put the thingamabob into the whatchamacallit and this will engage the doohickie and finish the thingy. As an option you can add the gazmoe and the do-dad along with a new doofer but this added cost.
Always waiting for the 401 video I guess I really so wanna see this get into the air and flying , as I know for sure you guys are too ! lol y’all are the best !!!!! Thanks again for this video ! God Bless you all ! 🙏
So much for painting it 2 or 3 years ago, lol. Though you're doing well, im glad it's being done properly with attention to detail. Every little detail can be life or death.
We use torque seal paint markings on all connections and tightened fasteners so a final inspection making sure everything is properly tightened. Otherwise I’d keep looking at everything asking myself if everything was tight.
