Best Buy Modernizes Supply Chain Network with Advanced Automation and Warehouse Robots

Best Buy is a worldwide omnichannel electronics retailer enriching the lives of their customers though technology. To compete in today’s fast-paced ecommerce environment, Best Buy is revolutionizing its supply chain network, creating logistical efficiencies that seemed impossible in the past.
Starting with re-designing each of its regional distribution centers, or RDCs, and then creating metro ecommerce centers, or MECs, to better meet customer demands. Best Buy partnered with Bastian Solutions to integrate automated storage and retrieval technology, conveyor, and warehouse execution software to best serve each facility.
By combining the right hardware, software, processes and people, Best Buy has achieved a better supply chain operation, from inventory management and increased order accuracy, to improved lead times for superior customer service and an overall reduction in costs.

It would have been even better if they could bring these fulfilment centers into brick and mortars with minimum real estate requirement. That way the assault on the physical store can be deflected and it can be given a new lease on life.

The AutoStore system has the scalability to be implemented into back of store, if a back of store model works well for the client. We work with each client individually to study their data and operational goals to determine if a dedicated back of store fulfillment solution is right for their operation, or if a combination of fulfillment methods would be best to meet their needs.

Also, can your system cater to 30 different stores from one centralised fulfilment center maybe strategically placed on a rooftop or garage? Thanks
