I totally agree with Greg when he says it's all about the layering. It is what gave 80s music it's distinctive feel and richness to its songs.

Human Nature vox were done in a single take? Man, that's one of my favorite MJ songs.

At 1 AM, too? He must've been like Sun Ra - you'd better be ready to go at any time, whenever he woke up from a nap!🤣

For some reason I thought that Bill Wolfer

It feels so good to hear these stories about the craft of that masterpiece. The content of this channel has an important historical value and should be put in a museum or archive for future generations.

This. Is. SO. INTERESTING!!!!!!!!!!! GOD DAMNNN MAN
Guys, can you PLEASE explain what exactly is it that youre discussing here? As someone not familiar with union contracts, lots of stuff went over my head. I'd love for a breakdown or how it worked or something -- royalties, band vs leader and all that terminology .. .so interesting

I can only imagine the time, energy and money it took to create masterpieces like Thriller. $300 an hour ... in the 80's?! No DAW's just reel-to-reel machines?! 🤯
Now, you can buy a laptop, a program, and a mic and you have a fully functional recording studio at home.
What a time to be alive.

Hey guys, I'm a musician too, and I like it when you try to explain what happened with the Thriller production. But you have to explain in more detail what the contracts say. I notice that you are still trying to figure out what happened and in what order. I would like it if, at the end of the research, there is a clear sequence of events and everything can be made understandable for those who are interested. I love your dedication to making things understandable, but in the end, a thriller macking of the studio should be made where everything can be summarised chronologically. A mammoth task, which would be worthwhile for posterity! With love, Flummi from Germanyy
