- We finally did an RV tour and review of our 2017 Grand Design Solitude 310 GK fifth wheel. We have owned it about a year and have lived full time in it for over 6 months. We have learned a lot about what we like, don’t like and really don’t like about our rig.
This video will show you the good, the bad, and the ugly of our Grand Design, along with some RV modifications and renovations we have made. We won’t win any RV decorating awards, but it is comfortable and practical.

Alice is hilarious and she speaks from her heart at least it comes across that way. Love your input and being honest, no one is going to find a ‘perfect’ RV
Ray, oh believe me, I try my best to be honest. What you see is what you get. You are right. No RV is perfect. But Grand Design Solitude is closer than others. Alice
Seriously THE best RV tour I have watched in a very long time. Exactly what newbies want to know - what’s the real good and bad about a particular rig from the folks that have actually lived in it for 6 months. Thank you!
Mark, thank you. We actually had so much more we wanted to show but we know we had to keep it kind of short. We really appreciate the comment. 🙏 Alice
I enjoyed your tour! It was like having a friend show you around with a touch of humor. Well done!
Myrna, I try to keep it entertaining. It’s the teacher in me 🤣. I always try to make it like I’m just talking to someone in front of me. Thanks for noticing. Alice
Be honest we almost bought the grand design solitude 310 GK. The 310 GK is such a nice model!! My wife and I finally decided upon the S class 2930 RL which is similar to the 310. We absolutely love grand design and it's awesome to see that others are full-time living in them as well. You guys should a great review! We are so glad we stumbled Upon your channel and can't wait to catch up on some of your content. My wife and I are full-time RV travel nurses that work in the emergency room. We started off in a travel trailer but finally upgraded to a fifth wheel. We also recently just started in the RV channel!! You guys have our full support in your adventures, we will be following you guys for your journeys to come #Subscribed - Kyle and Renee
Kyle and Renee, I actually like the bedroom and bathroom set up in the S class better than our set up. Fifth wheels are just built more solid for full time we feel. I’m glad you found us. And I’m glad you are part of the Grand Design family. Good luck with the channel. It’s a lot of hard work. But if you enjoy it, keep it up. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents yes that is actually what sold us Alice. The walk through bathroom has been fantastic for the open space! We have learned from our old trailer, just how much time we actually spend in the bathroom! It really paid off to get a bigger space so that we could stretch out a little more when getting ready for the day 😊 that’s so awesome you know what model we have! We couldn’t agree more, the Solitudes are so excellent for for full time RV living! We have really enjoyed ours over the past year. Thank you for taking the time to respond to us and wish us well ❤️ - Renee and Kyle
@@HappilyEverHanks Always. I love it when people share their experiences. Not just for us but for others who may read the comments. The RV community is so amazing Alice
We replaced the carpet with the exact same flooring from Grand Design, it even came with a seam edging that fits over the slide. Removing carpet is not fun, lots of staples but the install was very straight forward and easier than expected! We have a 2019 377 and wanted to make sure to get the same exact flooring before they stop making it!
Dani, that is a good point about getting the flooring before they stop making it. But ours is a 2017. Looks like I better contact GD. Thanks. Alice
Thanks for a REAL RV tour that shows the daily living. Great job you two.
Beth, thanks. You know you are going get the REAL with us 🤣. Alice
Your RV is really nice. I like that you show the good and some of the not so good things. The tape over the vent in the kitchen is a great solution. Thanks for sharing, Larry & Alice.
Bob, there are so many great things about this RV. That’s why I don’t get some of the things they did like the vent pointing at the fridge. But no RV is perfect. And some of what I complained about our fixed in newer versions. Alice
Yay, the tour! Great tour! Love those large living windows as well and I really love that window over the bed! Lots of great points and love the microwave foam idea!
We had so much more but wanted to keep it short 😂. I got that tip on Facebook. Are you in an airstream Facebook group? I can’t remover. We get great ideas. Hope to see you guys again soon. Alice
Stumbled across your channel looking into Grand Design. Great video, thank you, but the thing I notice most here is the production value... the lighting, audio, editing, it's all on point! Something tells me you have some experience in the field. Thanks for extra effort!
Jordan, thank you so much. We get annoyed when there is bad sound and lighting when we watch videos so we try our best.
I’m not an old Hollywood star or anything 😂. I’m used to be a teacher. And Larry sold surgical spine instruments. But he researches things to death and has made production value a major priority.
I’m going to read your comment. Thank you.
Alice
This is by far THE BEST description video on here.. Thank you ever so much for the honest pros and cons.. It will help me in the near future... Looking forward to more..
Thank you. It helps that we aren’t ambassadors for the brand 🤣.
Many of the things I didn’t like were fixed by Grand Design. But many are still an issue.
Alice
This RV is amazing and so spacious. The windows really give you a good view of everything. This place is so much bigger than I thought. The TV going up was like James Bond. Good thing you have Larry updating everything. Can’t wait to see the Manly Outdoor edition. Great Tour Alice. Oh yea, now I know where all the magnet souvenirs go.
Fifth wheels give a lot of space. And yes the windows are amazing. I love the secret TV 😂. Larry is very talented. Manly edition 😂🤣. I have to display my magnets. I’m still waiting for Larry to make a place for my stickers. Glad you liked the tour. Alice
My wife and I enjoyed the tour. You guys are one of the best on UA-cam. Thanks for sharing!
Steve, wow. There are a lot of great channels out there so much ch bigger than us. Your compliment means a lot, Especially since I know you watch a lot of our stuff. 🙏 Alice
Very good, entertaining video! I have a 2014 Redwood 36RL, and I could relate to everything you explained in your rig. For my rig, I was looking for a full time rated fifth wheel, with 3 "must haves", a generator, king bed, and washer/dryer. I love the solid surface countertops, stand alone washer & dryer, large walk-in closet, and very open floor plan. I dislike the small corner shower, the carpet, and the very heavy closet doors keep falling off when travelling. I also dislike the fact it only has 2 A/C's and I live in Florida, too. Keep up the good work!
Matt, glad you liked the tour.
I don’t think the RV industry truly understands living full time in an RV that moves often. There isn’t a rig out there for us yet.
If I could only custom build one 😂
Alice
Great video. Great camera work and lighting and Alice, you’re so funny!!! I watched your stair review 3 times. You had me laughing so hard, I...never mind, too personal 😳
You’re the first RVer to show negative things about a Grand Design. I appreciate your honesty.
Michelle, I’m glad you laughed. But sorry if you to change 😂. We try to be honest. So we probably won’t be ambassadors.
However, many of the things I don’t like about our GD has been fixed in newer models. The 2021s look really nice.
Thanks for compliments,
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents that is one thing i am worried about, the stairs, i am a faller and a sock wearer too so i'm sure i will ride those stairs a few times!!
@@mickeymcdonald8984 get those grippy socks. It’s saved me a few times,

Agree with earlier comment about Audi’s GF products. Fortunately, here in PNW, we have Franz bakery that makes a good GF bread. My wife has celiac disease, so when we travel, we load upon GF items that you c@not get once you leave the west coast. Also, we prefer the residential frig, but we are in a ClassA with generator, so not a big deal not having power. Huge freezer for storing. Good videos, and like your attitudes.
Thanks, Michael. We did have issues when we traveled northeast this summer looking for GF - especially in the different provinces in Canada. Some of Larry’s favorite Udis bagels seem to have disappeared?
We love hearing our videos have been week received. Sometimes are honesty is a bit much for some - it’s not all sunshine and rainbows 😉
Alice
Great tour y’all. I have been in this rig so much now with y’all I was saying what you where talking about before you said it. Lol. Jessica was telling me to shut up so she could listen. Hahaha. Very nice honest tour. Y’all don’t need anymore storage though. Much more and you will officially have more in your RV then you did in your house. Lol. I do disagree about the dog bed part for the couch. Old Camper Life set with the dogs in that location. So that is their full time and my part time spot. Lol I like that you show the good and the bad. There is no such thing as the perfect RV. You always have to make it that way. Thanks for the share.
You need to rewatch our 11 day vlog. We had soooo much stuff. I want to hear what Jessica thinks next time 🤣. You are right, the back couch is used occasionally for Camper Life and my boys. Maybe that’s why I want to ditch it 🤣😂. The Grand Designs have changed some of what I complained about in their newer models. Miss you guys. Alice
Thanks for the video! It helps! Make sure you cover your magnifying glass on your work station- the sun will go through there and light something on fire 🔥
Glad you liked it.
We have tilted windows and have the blinds down when the sun is coming through those windows 🤗
Nice tour. I love all the windows. It makes it feel so open and bright.
Exactly. It really makes it look huge inside. And we have had some great views. Alice
Great tour! We did a couple of those, Love how you shared how you really feel now that you have lived in it. Love how you fixed the access to the cabinet!~ Diana
Diana, we try to be honest about any review. The cabinet access idea actually came from a Facebook group 🤣. Thanks for coming by. Alice
Thanks for the deep dive, some valuable insights here. I did notice, however, that some items you’ve complained in are simply preference issues, which you accepted when you made the buying decision. I feel it is a little unfair to deem something bad or ugly simply because you wanted different. The dinette to desk change is an example.
Success and joy in your travels!
Patrick, obviously a lot of it was opinion - like the carpet, but newer models don’t have it.
And you are right, the dinette is a preference- if you don’t need or won’t a desktop computer and work station, no need to change it. Though many people who remodel change the dinette in many different ways.
Again, this was all opinion - after all, words like good, bad, and ugly are opinion loaded words.
Thanks for stopping by,
Alice
We love how you set up your RV. I think we all have those little things that aren't so perfect but manageable.. Thank you for sharing this video. Hope to one day see you on the road. You both are awesome.
Laurel, thanks. I have other ideas if Larry will go for it- like get rid of the bed ottoman and put in drawers 🤣. Hope we do see you out there. Alice
I am looking at this model, and glad I caught your tour!! Other RV Nomads with Grand Design felt the same as the bulky Design on the top of pull outs. Hope Grand Design hears the people's imput.
Louis, unfortunately they advertise the Solitude as a “luxury” RV and they seem to think all that wood makes it look luxurious.
They have removed carpet and are going to lighter colors.
What really needs to be built is an RV specifically designed for full time travel - better trailer, bumper, suspension, less weight, etc.
Thanks for taking a look and telling us your thoughts 🤗
Alice
I noticed the windows right away, it's awesome you have all those views. That's a nice kitchen with lots of counter space. And nice tip on the pool noodle for the microwave plate, I currently wrap mine in a towel and put it in the sink while we drive. That was a great review of the good, bad and ugly on your Grand Design. Looks mostly good to me, very nice. Debbie - BluWave Odyssey
Debbie, the windows are definitely my favorite feature. It does have a pretty nice kitchen too. Hence GK in its name. I learned the noodle tip from Facebook 🤣. It is mostly good and that’s why we picked this one. Thanks for visiting our home. Alice
We are loving our 2020 Grand Design Solitude 310Gk! We winter camp and do not notice any drafts compared to our previous Keystone Cougar 5th wheel.🙂
John, the newer units fixed a lot of the issue I talked about.
It’s much more solid than others we toured.
Enjoy,
Alice
We have a 2021 Grand Design Solitude 390RK that we picked up in May this year and we love it...ours didn't come with as nice of a fireplace...i wanted logs and was told that would be after market...so maybe we can do that at a later time...your bedroom is just like ours...we opted for the washer/dryer combo unit...we're FT also so it is running now...we have a ton of storage...maybe too much because we're a bit concerned with weight so we're trying to shed some non essential things...we live aboard with our two boy kitties and we all LOVE all the windows...my oldest kitty, age 18, has failing kidney's so we're not planning on travels for now...he's doing ok but don't want him to be uncomfortable...in the meantime, we are on a friends farm and we are enjoying these views watching the cows, goats, bunnies, birds and hubby just spotted a coyote...:-)....our kitties are indoors only so no worries there...we just like to watch the wildlife...:-) Thank you for the tour of your home...I enjoyed seeing the changes you've made and your puppers look very comfy LOL
Elva, since we bought ours used, there were some upgrades. Weight is definitely an issue. We have weighed our rig several times. It is important. My Yorkie Chewie has Congestive Heart Failure. We just take her on short walks and keep her calm. We were on a farm in Canada when we had to quarantine. A 100 acre farm of a friend. The dogs love the windows. We plan to make more changes but it takes twice as long because we have to film it 🤣. The pups have adjusted well. Good luck on your transition. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents Thank you...we're working on it...:-)
You two are very entertaining and I hope you have a100k subscribers soon to pay for your YouTubing. Your video quality is excellent. We have a 2021 310 gk, upgraded from a Reflection. Alice, your comments are spot on,. The overall quality is really, really good but you pointed out some of the few annoying things. You should be a Grand Design consultant. Thanks for doing UA-cam. It’s obvious that you put a lot of effort into your videos and it shows.
Kerry, wow. Thank you so much. I wish we had 100k subscribers 🤣. We really appreciate it when people notice our hard work. And we try to be honest about whatever we are talking about. Now GD did fix some things with new Solitudes. If I were a consultant for them, I’d ask for a 29’ Solitude. We want to downsize a bit 😅. Thank you again for your positive feedback. 🤗
Alice
Hi!! Great tour! We just bought the same model. We’ve been eyeing it for years to replace our bunkhouse after our girls grew up.
One thing I noticed you said the oven had to have both buttons pressed to light. Not true. Just push in and turn the oven switch to Pilot then light it (yes on your knees) and turn to the temp you want. And as for checking constantly - no need! I use a piece of heavy duty foil folded into a large square (about 6 inches or so) and lay it below the rack on top of the heating cover. Biscuits and brownies came out PERFECT this weekend. No burning the bottom and no turning or checking. Both were set at 350 degrees. Best of all, the foil doesn’t add any weight.
I hope that helps!!
Julie, thanks for the oven tip. We have a 2017 and I believe they upgraded the oven so it lights more easily. Someone told with same year model that I might be able to see reflection of blue light in the door instead of looking down. I hope you enjoy your new one. There some great changes over our model - like no carpet 🤣. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents we had the same oven in our 2013 Rockwood and it was the same - our new RV is a 2018. The hard part is definitely lighting it from the floor! ha ha - they should include knee pads!
@@Roadtripmischief 🤣😂. I should have done that for the video. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents best contortion oven lighting techniques!?! ;)
@@Roadtripmischief 🤣😂. Someone told me look for light in reflection of door 😅
Alice
This video has either really helped me decide or possibly made it even harder. Right now im debating on getting a 2018 model grand design, or a destination rv. We wont be moving it much, if at all. So both would work for us
Check the size of the grey and fresh water tanks. We wish ours was bigger than 50 gallons - which changed the next year
Love your videos guys. Love your rig. Your puppies were not bothering by any noise. Lol. Love them 🥰🥰
Carmen, we got lucky with the pups. But I did take one of the collars off so it wouldn’t jingle 😂. They have adjusted to full time life very well. Alice
I will watch the video either tonight or tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing it. See you soon!
Sherri, part 2 is more details. Mine is more fun 😉
Alice
Great tour! You've given me some ideas. Dave is already working on the bunk beds. 😆. Diggin' the socks btw 👍👍
Veronica, we had so much more I wish I could have talked about. You know you can call anytime. I’m sure the bunks will be awesome. I got my socks on amazon 🤣. Thanks again for hosting us. Alice
I don't know if y'all have previous experience in front of a camera, but you're really good at it. Alice, you could review or sell RVs on UA-cam.
LeAnna, wow. Thanks for that. I have been a teacher since I was 23 so I’m pretty comfortable “teaching.” Actually filming took some time. We do plan on doing some more RV tours in the future. Alice
Thanks L and A for the tour. You gave a really great and incisive report Alice and I learned a lot from this. Rainy and humid in Florida but low 80's today so Fall is here in Gainesville, FL. bill in Florida
Bill, we left a cardboard box 📦 outside. It melted 🤣. We forgot what it’s like. We are in Gainesville, too. Hoping to take the boys to see bison (hint). I had so much more to say about this RV but we didn’t want to make it long. Alice
One of the best you tube tour videoing I've seen in a long time without me getting sea-sick, you have a lovely home. PS, try polish or WD40 on the wardrobe track x.
Valerie, thank you. I totally know what you mean by the seasick 🤣We use a gimbal with our iPhone. I’ll tell Larry about the WD40. Thanks for visiting our home. Alice
Great video Alice! Honest and factual!
Dave, thanks. I’m not an “ambassador” so I can a bit more candid 😉
Alice
This was such a useful video! Thanks for sharing all of this information 😊
Lainie, I’m glad I could help. I could have gone on for hours 🤣
Alice
Love the Portage Store T-Shirt, not far from me, love Algonquin Park, love my Reflection as well
Willy, we had such a great time in Ontario and all the amazing provincial parks. You are lucky to be near Algonquin. Larry grew up in Oakville. Take care. Alice
I would hate to have carpet inside as well! Yes!! The Windows!! I remember when I seen a picture of your windows Months ago on Twitter.. sooo awesome. Yes, that island is massive for sure. As I’m looking at the fridge.. there’s more open space for magnets then I thought there would be. I’m glad to hear the heater works well! Oooo.. some of that LED tape stuff would work well to light up that pantry. Sorry Larry to give you a project. The stuff is fairly easy to work with tho. Sally and I hit our arms on things sticking out at the time.. we would have removed that handrail as well. That was fun!
Darisan, GD did fix some of these issues in their newest models.
I agree about the LED project for Larry. I’m telling him it’s your fault. I thought you were #TeamLarry ? 🤣
The windows is what sold me. I keep asking GD to make a 29’ Solitude- I guess I don’t have as much influence as I thought. 🤔
I’m glad you enjoyed it,
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents so you are saying I have some sucking up to do to get back on Larry’s good side.. got it
@@darisanshanger1616 oh no. I’ve created a monster 😂
We LOVE all the windows, even in the bedroom!! We are going to have to take out a couch to make a desk area for our work space. We like the east to west facing bed too! You have a very nice rig! Thanks for sharing! :-)
We took out the dinette for the work desk. And we took out theatre seats for our own couch.
But the windows are amazing.
Alice
Great tour...but where do you eat? Outdoors? TV Trays? I moved into a studio to begin my downsizing, and have no room for a table, so I eat on my recliner, I am so excited to get INTO MY TRAILER, because I want a table- LOL!
Love the tube tip for the microwave.
Sad those windows do not open on the stove side :( The model that I hope to get does not have a window near the stove, I wish it did, but now knowing that yours doesn't even open - that sucks.
Pizza stone - they all swear by it... ! LOL!
I think the reason for the short dresser is so you can get the washer n dryer in?
I was thinking of getting the Reflection 29RL, but then saw someone post once that they wish their windows were on the door side, so they could see their campsite, not their neighbors on the opposite end, I then became distraught, because I wanted a window on both sides of the bedroom for night safety. I was directed to the Reflection 150 series 295RL that has the windows flipped - cannot wait!!
18 months away... and counting! Hope to meet up on the road one day!
We do eat outside or on the couch. I keep meaning to pick up a TV dinner tray 🤣. We originally were going to move into a smaller place to so we had more time to downsize. Oh well. We saw the tube tip on Facebook. Yeah. I guess I need to try the pizza stone. There is actually room behind the drawers on the inside. That’s what I don’t get. We do love all our windows. I’m glad you found a rig that will work for you. Just downsize a bit every day. Join a Facebook group for the rig you want. Start buying the essentials you will need for your RV. Good luck. And yes, maybe we will see each other on the road. Alice
Very nice video love your home. I’m going to watch part 2.

@@DownsizingMakesCents “almost” 😂😎
I agree with your earlier comments about a slightly smaller 5th wheeler. We could get by with a 30 footer like you suggest.
Brad, I’m trying to convince Grand Design to make a 29’ Solitude. I say just cut off the back section with the couch 🤣. Alice
Helpful. Presently shopping the Grand design. Thank you !

My MaxxAir fan is the single best upgrade I did to my rig! Getting ready to winterize the camper and the boat. Winter is lurking. Nice job on the review. If you send me an address I'll ship you a "functional" magnet.
We need to upgrade the bathroom fan. And we had to fix the mechanism to raise the lid. We had to cut a lot out. Message me on Instagram about the magnet 🤔 Alice
Excellent job! Thank you
Thanks. We have made improvements since this video to make it more comfortable 🤗
If you don’t like the plastic seat on your toilet, it may be a Thetford model which also sends flushing water only from the 12 o’clock position and is not terribly efficient. I had the same one and swapped it out for the Dometic 320 model which has a wood seat and top and flushes in a 360 degree pattern, very efficient.
Keep up the good work! PS: We are Grand Design owners also.
David, we just did our one year cost video. I don’t think Larry wants me to upgrade anything else😂 But you are so right. I’d love to get a better toilet. You would think GD would put the better one on their “luxury” model.
We shall see.
Thanks for the tip. We live hearing from fellow Grand Designers,
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents i understand, can’t do everything at once. fwiw: it’s about $250 on Amazon and it’s a breeze to install especially, as it appears that Larry is quite the diy guy. travel safe.
Oooh. That’s not bad. Larry’s list just got longer. But it would make a great video 😅
Alice
Loved this tour.
Thanks. The newer models fixed some things I don’t like in ours- like carpet,
Alice
This is the exact rig we are looking at maybe not the same year but the same rig. and we are getting a thousand trails membership to go with it. How dose that work for you? Thank you for the great video and we will be out there soon. early 2022 PS you didn''t want the washer and dryer?
Mickey, we love our Solitude, but it lacks cross ventilation and most windows don’t open enough when we were dry camping.
Washer and dryer would be a lot of weight and I didn’t want to share a closet with Larry 😂
Thousand Trails in Florida is a bit iffy. Only 3 true TTs and the encores are really hard to get into.
But we hope to use it more when we drive up the east coast. We have a video all about Thousand Trails. Check it out.
Alice
The 2022 and 2023 models have upgraded . I do like them better. . We are at a toss up. Between this model and the alliance paradigm 310rl .. it doesn’t have a televater. The heater slides out for storage and there is no window behind tv. Alliance uses azdel siding I don’t think grand design does . There are three a/c units in the alliance paradigm.
That’s a hard decision. Alliance hasn’t been around that long. But I’ve heard good things.
Go on Facebook group for all the models you are thinking of. Read comments
I actually have the identical RV. Your closet slider door is off its track. Side note, when you were sitting on your steps, it looked as though you had no britches on. Lol
Fred, we found a screw sticking out on the top of the closet. No britches? 🤣😂 Oh no. Ooops. 🤣😂. Alice
Larry is a Saint.
Do y’all have a video on humidity? I keep hearing about mold growing on the board that holds the mattress. Do y’all have one of the mats people use to promote air circulation under the mattress?
When we were moochdocking in our front yard, we used a dehumidifier. But once we started moving and running the AC, we haven’t had a problem
@@DownsizingMakesCents thanks!
Great walk thru guys! Very informative. Thanks for sharing! 😀 Steve
Steve, thanks for checking it out. It really is a great rig. Alice
That was awesome! Thank you!
Bren, your welcome. I hope you found something helpful. Alice
Wonderful tour, we have a class a, never had a travel trailer. But yours does have a lot of storage. Very nice. :)
We researched a great deal before deciding. Every set up has good and bad. For now, we love all the space in our fifth wheel. Enjoy your quick set up. Just ouch buttons ❤️. Alice
Beautiful rig!
Thanks. Larry has two videos about his truck alone 😂. And then a video all about his roll n lock truck cover.
Great tour! We have been in our 2020 31MB for a few months now and one thing that is driving me nuts is not having space for a washer and dryer. I noticed that you have space but no washer and dryer. Do you have some sort of portable washer that you use or do you go to the laundry mat? If I had a washer and dryer I would do a load daily, but having to go to laundry mats means having to deal with baskets of dirty laundry taking up space.
Judy, we don’t have a washer or dryer. We are thinking about getting a small portable washer. Right now, we go to laundromats. If we are at a Thousand Trails, we do it there. Which ever way, baskets 🧺 or washer, you will lose space. Sorry I couldn’t help more. Alice
We have a 310gk also , a 2021 model. Now I’m going to check out ours after this video. My main question is where you got your couch cover from. We have two small dogs that will be on the couch a lot. Thank you for your videos.
I meant to put a link in the description. The link is now in. We had so much more we wanted to show so if you have any questions, let me know. Alice
Great video and some very insightful things to think about. How did you secure the Ikea desk? Do you have any issues with it moving during transit? Thanks!
The ikea desk is screwed down with 4 acres to the floor. I use straps to hold down the monitors, this is a video about the ikea desk install. ua-cam.com/video/3Fk5M9Z2vMo/v-deo.html. Larry
What brand of dishwasher do you have and you know what the dimensions are or model number
It’s a Furrion installed when it was built. We bought the rig used so I don’t know if we would choose it. It’s just over 17 1/2 wide. It’s about 20 deep. Grand Design might have better measurements on their website.
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents thanks
What is the workstation table. I may need to get one.
It’s an IKEA updesk.
Here’s the video about it

@@DownsizingMakesCents Thanks for your prompt response.
We love RV fridges
Lily, yes. We are at a TT and the power pedestal is messed up. We had to our our fridge on propane 😡. But nice to have the option
Alice
Very good review.
Bob, thanks. There was so much more I wanted to show but we try not to make it too long. Alice
I only care about one thing: WHAT DOES THAT TANKTOP SAY BELOW THE TENT?! 😜😊😊😊
Edit: Found it in the description, "Camping hair, don't care." I love it!
Zaine, it’s my favorite tank. I have it in green and pink.
Alice
Love your RV tour. A suggestion though: on the sticking sliding closet door, try spraying some WD40 on the rails. Cheers.
Jelena, I appreciate the suggestion but we found a screw sticking out of place. It’s on hubbies honey do list. 😂. Alice
love your sofa cover where did you purchase it from?
Sharon, thanks. I tried a few before I settled on this one. The link is in the description of the video.
Let me know if you need any help.
Alice
The stairs: I literally slipped going down, ended up by the kitchen island with a fractured foot, and I was alone!!
I know. I still haven’t put any grippy there. I need to. So sorry you got that hurt. Did you do something to fix it?
Alice
My steps are carpeted which I hate but I took the carpet out and matched the same floor as the rest of the rig. (I slipped on the carpet)
@@rvnut1133 Oh. Quick fix then. I so want to rip all carpet out. One day. We keep having to fix other things first. Such is this life. Plus, we do go out and have fun at these beautiful Florida state parks
Alice
Yes, things will break same like in a sticks and bricks - I rather full-time RV and enjoy life every day.
@@rvnut1133 💯
I just bought a 2020 primarily for the hard floors - I can’t do the shag.
U could always rip out the rug n install vinyl flooring
John, I wish they stopped the carpet in 2017. Oh well. I lived with old carpet in my sticks and bricks for 23 years so I can deal with it 🤣. If I had my way- no carpet. No brown. So much less wood. Paint everything. 🤔. We shall see. Alice
That’s a lot of work for us old people. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents hey! I qualify for the old person club eh!! but looking at carpet makes my brain suddenly envision myself on my hands n knees scrubbing the bloody thing! so when we recently moved into a new home a year ago I declared NO CARPETS despite my hubbys protests. I had laminate 12ml planks installed through the whole 1 level house. MUCH easier to care for. so installing peel n stick planks in an rv should not take too much time or effort vs a whole house eh! and you will b SO PLEASED with yourself and the new look a new floor can really evoke feelings of pleasure just looking at it! new paint and new flooring REALLY boost a persons feelings ! i know ive done it many times!
I’ll pass this on to hubby. His list is long 🤣. Alice
I'm #jealous about that computer workstation! If you are interested we have a FB group with over 200 channels that you can share your material at. It's called Camping UA-cam Community Support
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll look into it. Alice
Your sentiments about the windows; fridge; island and oven are mine exactly. We are semi seriously looking for an rv like this one; the big dealbreaker is usually the fridge...if it isnt a big fridge im not keen on it BUT I wd rather pay 20 or 30g for an older fifth wheel that has no island or big fridge than pay 130g for any rv only to have it plummet in value and fall to peices slowly but surely. Im theorizing i can get a second smaller fridge; and buy or make an item than can b used as an island...plus paint the walls and cabinets and replace the flooring....aahhh I love a project ...as long as it doesnt turn into a nightmare eh!! LOVE your trailer though!! did u see what happened to liz amazing on her kitchen island hmmm
Lauren, we bought ours used and paid about $50,000. I can see us doing smaller mods but not a whole rebuild. With buying used, the main issue is moisture. You need a meter to check that. But if you can buy one that has windows like these and it’s older, go for it. Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents thats certainly a good price! falling trim strips is not a serious issue for sure. I wd like one with sliding horizontal windows instead of the scissor opening ones. we had a house once with tilt out windows what a bloody hothouse! never again! theres a video on yt of a guy who figured out how to get those ones to open WAY wider check it out..i think he unhooked the scissor lever and added a long extension so that window will open almost level lateral giving u much more airflow. I wd like to see a video of using a moisture meter in an rv; do u know of one?
Funny, we are thinking about making a video on how to do an inspection. Even though we did our own, we still paid to have an independent inspection done
@@DownsizingMakesCents inspection videos are interesting especially water leaks from roofs; around windows and the floors; along with the rusting frame I beams underneath; scary stuff. did you ever see the lucille ball movie The Long Long Trailer? HILARIOUS!!! i saw it on tv many years ago and recently bought it on amazon. priceless!!
Yes. Same with me. Saw the movie years ago. I need to rewatch now that we are in an RV. Alice
Love your RV. God Bless. 🇺🇲🙏🏼
Rocky, thanks. We love it too but in a couple of years, I hope we downsize 😂
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents I'm looking into doing a little ( downsizing ) as well at 60 years old. But I can't complain I got a fully loaded dirt bike trailer which I could use for camping as well with AC lighting and heating and a 43" flat screen on the wall powered by two Honda's a EU2200i and a EU2200i Companion. But I do love using my truck tent on my Ram1500 Sport Crew Cab which is very comfortable it's my paradise to see the stars at night and if it gets to hot or cold I can always sleep in my trailer and throw a hammock up. Life is good so far until I can ride any more so I'm living it as long as I can. I'll be checking on you guys more now. God Bless and keep safe out there, who knows I may run into you some day down the road. 🇺🇲🤙🏼
@@gray_wolverine63 Sounds like a set up Larry would like. Enjoy it.
Yes. It would be awesome to see you out there.
Take care,
Alice
You can just rip out the carpet and put what they using now some tile looking pvc woven material.
You make it sound so easy 😂. But with Larry’s RA, we have to pick and choose what he works on. I have lower back and shoulder issues myself. Remember, we are old 🤣. Alice
Downsizing Makes Cents 🤣🤣😂🤣😅🤣🤣 I can always rent you Fabian for help
My favorite video :)
Aww. Thanks. Then I (Alice) 😉
What do you use for internet?
Bridget, we have an ATT hot spot and use our phones. Alice
Thank you! We are organizing ourselves and getting ready to hopefully go full time sometime next summer. We have kids all over and I am not ready to commit to one location yet so this seems like the best and most exciting option. Love your videos! Thank you for sharing 🥰
No worries. I get what you mean about the kids. We are camping around our boys now for the holidays. Luckily, they live in an apartment together. Just downsize a bit everyday and start collecting essentials for your RV. Good luck. Alice
I love duallies. Duallies are nice but they suck in snow; they suck on gravel; can't take them off road.
Hopefully we never find out in the snow. But we had to pull our fifth wheel out of a spot with major mud and the dually worked great. Alice
You guys are accident prone...heads, arms, etc..lol
That’s actually true, I’m always banging my head on something. Alice is a little more careful. It not like living in a home there are more opportunities to get banged up. LOL Larry
I'm GF and the only reason his GF is yucky is that it's Udy's!! Udy's is the worse brand on the market!
We are trying other brands. I love GF pasta made by the big brands.
But I was just kidding about it being yucky. I eat his GF frozen pizza 🍕 🤤
Alice
@@DownsizingMakesCents email me I can give you the load down on good-tasting vs yucky brands.
I am in the process of downsizing, my house goes on the market next week and will sell fast due to me being in Boston. I am seriously considering the full-time RV thing, I just wish I could find a local group or someone I could experience hands-on and ask questions. I love the 5th wheel but afraid I won't be able to drive a truck big enough and tow Class C just is not cutting it for me and I would still have to tow my vehicle. Suggestions/help would be greatful
Check out RV Share. You can rent. Start small and see what feels right. I would never pull a fifth wheel myself but I don’t even like driving the dually. I miss my Prius. I told Larry, if something happens to him, I’m getting a class B or a small travel trailer with an SUV.
There should be an email on our main UA-cam page.
