The D.A called the Judge and told him about it . The Judge wrote up a court order that the gun was to be released back to me . The police barracks got the court order the same day , the police officer called me the same day and said the gun was being released back to me . I told him I was in town and could pick it now. I always thought police could lie when conducting an investigation like ‘tour partner told me he did it and you were just present can you confirm his story’.
What you're talking about is a technique used on a suspect and/or perpetrator. Yes, it's acceptable to lie to a suspect in order to get him/her to confess. However, when it's a regular citizen or victim like in this case, that's not a technique that would be used. It's actually just being dishonest...period.
Adam I'm glad things worked out for you. I have a hard time believing that only one officer has the Combination or keys to the evidence locker. If something would happen to the Officer . The others couldn't gain access to either enter evidence or release evidence. If there's an integrity issue it needs to be passed on to Internal affairs. Once an Officer lies they will lie again and again.

I will go ahead and say it...just on principle alone we very well may have had another incident..I can only imagine your shock and anger at this. Some of these guys are pure arrogant piss heads..many great ones but far too many now are not.
I'm a retired cop I've seen it both ways. As Adam said there are good and bad it all. All you can do is pray for the ones that feel they have to do wrong.
I've heard of problems where some cop shops, perhaps with bad management or whatnot, have a habit of 'losing' confiscated items...and end up in somebody else's possession. Almost hard to imagine these days with the internet, politics, and scrutiny and departments trying to get 'cleaned up'. But I guess it can still happen; and like you said, if it was honest oversight, no big deal....but to outright lie like that only hurts themselves on many levels.
I bet the CZ was in some LEOs closet at home and thats why it took so long to get it back. LEO took it home, and then the other LEO told him that it has to be returned. 3 weeks later the LEO that took it brought it back..
Just so you know the cops are trained to lie to you in any they feel necessary. Go on line and research what they do in a investigation. Have no use for them all they do is show up after the fact you are already dead by that time
Keep in mind, too, that some guys are in that spot, because they really didn't do well out in the field. Hard headed, major character flaws, etc. lots of people make it through the process, which is as convoluted as you would expect a government process to be, and then do stuff in the field that gets the dept. sued, or endangers LEOs, but due to the convoluted govt. rules can't be fired, so they end up being put in a spot that they think won't get the dept. sued, or endanger fellow LEOs. Now you can add being disgruntled from being openly laughed at by fellow cops to their baked in personal issues.
Major character flaws and personal issues aside, the real issue is the police department hires Low I.Q. folks who can’t think for themselves. They want soldiers who follow orders. Everything is black and white.
Sorry to say it but the abuse of litigation in this country has reached new heights I'm afraid. Hopefully we can get together and elect the right people this time around. Ethics, values, integrity within the system,,,,its all on the line. Thanks for sharing Adam. This should really help to raise everyone's awareness within the community. Sorry you had to endure the pain but please keep up the great work with the presentations you create and publish. By the way,,,a letter to the NRA might not be a bad idea. Stay in the saddle and stay vigilant. Very best to you, Mr. Paul and your families. 😎👍🦌
I have cops that are close family! But, you need to file an Official Complaint with that Police Department against that Officer by name and put down date and times (approximate of course)!
That sounds super frustrating I hope it works out. Where I live in Western Australia they are bringing in a whole bunch of new firearms laws next year including a limit of 5 for hunting/recreation or a limit of 10 for club/competitive shooting which would include your hunting arms aswell so needless to say I know a few people who are going to hand over a lot to the police or sell them to anyone who is under the limit already or interstate/overseas.
I worked at an indoor range where the owner got busted for meth. The local PD kept about 120 guns even though they were ordered to return them as they belonged to the company, not the individual. I had a customer who owned a hardware store that got robbed. Several years later they retrieved a Beretta 92 that was stolen. When he went to pick it up the chief looked at it, noticed that someone had put a 96, 40sw top end on it so he took the slide/barrel assembly and mag and gave him the frame, I found him one on eBay. I had an antique, 1920s Winchester 69 22 bolt gun I was going to shorten for my daughter. I was working out of state and my ex moved her crackhead son into my basement. The local sheriff's dept came to arrest him and found this crusty, disassembled 22 that hadn't been fired since probably the 50s and the end of barrel was totally rusted along with the bottom few inches of the butt stock were water damaged and cracked. I had bought it from a 90 some year old just looking to get rid of that and a model 97. This was a pre serial number gun. The SD freaked out that the serial number was removed and they were hanging 30 years over him for "having access" to this crusty old antique on my workbench. The report came back that it hadn't been fired in 50+ years and that it never had a serial number. I had to vouch as an expert to that effect. They never returned my property. What sucks is it had the coolest vernier ladder sight ever on it😢😢.😢
To many civilians and FFL holders are held accountable for their mistakes and actions, while government officials are not! But we are supposed to trust government, I don't think so!
"To protect, serve & commit perjury when it suits us." Appreciate the honesty about the drama videos, most youtubers will say they're avoiding drama while addressing drama because it gets views. I have friends and family that are officers too but I know how you feel and what you're going through because I went through the same thing 5 or 6 years ago and after getting the runaround for a few months I just took the loss. Difference is I saw my "stolen" rifle at a shooting competition this summer in the hands of an officers kid, not the one that jerked me around but he did buy it from him. He didn't even bother to repaint it or change anything and it still had a tag with all my info under the buttstock when I asked him to look. He offered to sell it back to me for what he bought it for and I refused and told him to go ask his dad about the legality of selling stolen firearms. He asked what I meant so I told him what happened and he gave it back to me right there, he's a good kid and he wants to go deer hunting with me this year.
That is an absolutely outstanding standing story and end result..I am tickled for you and the kid involved it turned out this way. A great life lesson for the kid..he had integrity and that is just awesome..I hope y'all go hunting together an get 18in wide 200lb 8pts on the same day !!! Excellent outcome. Fair and just !
Did you contact the DA to press charges against the dirty cop who stole then sold your rifle? He should be in the penitentiary with felony convictions for doing this.
Don't ever expect any law enforcement officer to tell you the truth. That means any law enforcement officer including game wardens. You are required to tell them the truth but they are not required to tell you the truth. You will be sorry some day if you don't believe these words and take them to heart. Do not talk to any law enforcement officer without a lawyer working for you present.
I said it in the very first video you put out when the guns was stolen, "good luck getting any back". Now another is gone. I had a bunch of legal guns taken and mine was accidentally "destroyed" and or "lost". They told me numerous time I could get them I would just have to come back when someone else was there.. That person never was there. 😅 Eventually they said a mistake was made and I lost every one of them. I live in a small town as well. This was 20 years ago and talking to other people in my area nothing has changed. Good luck in the future. Being a content creator you may end up having better luck than me. Since you're being very very nice " to nice in my opinion" and not naming names it will probably end up for you like it did for me. I hope not you seem very genuine and honest that's why I follow you. Keep up the great work.
Adam, the biggest problem nowadays is people just don’t give a damn, whether it’s family, or work, or anything else. If they feel inconvenienced, they’re going to do everything they can to get out of doing something. That’s why I thank God every day that I no longer have to deal with employees or customers. I’ve been through pretty much the same thing you have, except my problem was with employees who were stealing from me and cops and a judicial system that could care less.
Record every conversation with your phone, police aren’t like they use to be, there’s still good ones out there but lots of untrustworthy police these days n they are protected pretty well !! Cameras your best line of defense !!
Had local police take rifle during a traffic stop then had to contact attorney to get it back outta "evidence room" which just happened to be at his home. Since then have heard several same type of situations involving officers.
When I was taking a CCW class the officer that was giving the class warned us that if we were pulled over in a local township and we had our guns on us, even with the CCW THEIR sop is to take the gun in and have it checked serial number and ballistics to see if it was used in a crime. Then he says, you'll need to go shopping for a new firearm because it will be years before they get through the backlog which they never do. Don't know if they finally had a class action suit against them but the local DA doesn't like CCW or constitutional carry laws. He only likes criminals having guns. They're human beings a subject to all the ills that go along with that. Always get a signed receipt of your paperwork with a copy of that paperwork initialled and get a written and signed copy of the instructions to retrieve your firearm that they have to sign and initial OR get a lawyer to do all the legal work for ya. They're usually more adept at the sneaky cop who evidently likes your CZ is up too. Remember, if it actually does come back and it's dirty, they'll claim they were running ballistics on it. Ya every time they can get another box of ammo for it at the range.
I would find another CCW class. That is a violation of the fourth amendment. If that Dept. is in fact doing that they are subject to huge un-winable lawsuits.
@@puppyrescue911it WASN'T the CCW class. ..the official giving them the class was giving them a HEADS UP on a local DIRTY ass department and DA ....da.
Oh yeah, they either lost it or stole it. Been their done that. They know they are protected and it’s up to us to spend money on an attorney to fight it.
A good example of why a follow-up email trail can serve as evidence of what was said in person. There's also a time when matters need to be taken to someone in management when wheels stop turning.
Like you, i believe there are many good cops, maybe even a majority are doing their jobs for the right reasons. That said, i also believe the old saying about "a few bad apples spoils the bunch" applies, so i tend to not trust any of them.
Written letter to Mayor and Police Chief after 2nd week would have fixed your issue. Letting them know you will be showing up at a City council meeting in the letter in front of the local press tends to keep these folks motivated....
he wanted to keep your gun! In a neighboring county to me, friends of mine had 4-wheelers stolen on more than one occasion from multiple locations and the sheriff's department tried to keep them every time!!
I’m not surprised! I have a lawn care business and was mowing for a town cop who wouldn’t pay me for my service. After several tries to contact still nothing. Bad when the law is out to screw everyone faster then your enemies!
Had a similar issue involving a model 1897 shotgun and a small local police department. After a month and a half of run around and nonsense from that police chief, i contacted the county sheriff and got him involved. Needless to say he was very unhappy with how I was treated. Funny how things were magically resolved within that very week after he made some phone calls.
Welcome to small town middle TN folks. I live about 30 minutes from ya. We have alot of good cops with a couple shady ones throwed into the mix. God bless ya brother.
I'd go into the station and ask to see his supervisor. Even file a complaint. It won't make him a good cop, but these things go into his file, and add up to preventing promotions, or add to other negative things in his file to lead to his being drummed out of the force.
I'd be asking to talk to the Chief, the Mayor, the City Council and informing them that if it wasn't taken care of by a certain date and time, that I would be filing a lawsuit. And consult a lawyer before any of this.
Wow I know this big mess is been going on a while, as I remember the day it happened and a few other shops around the state. I hope you never experience this type of stuff again and I've had and still do have friends in law enforcement and I've known a few really bad apples and the Boss man found them out and sent them packing, it's sad because we put our trust in them and a lot of people get hurt when a loose cannon gets a badge. Hey Who Tee I sure hope your family has a good Merry Christmas and New Year to follow. 🦌🎄
The cop had to go home and take it out of his safe. hes pissed off that he didn't get a CZ for free. it would be nice to follow all of the disappearing weapons just to make sure they were being transfered legally. I myself lost a bad ass m16 with all the goodies back in 1986. A cop told me they were illegal so either give it up or go to jail. a few months later I found out those bing bangs are worth up to $20k that cop swindled me. all i had to do was register it. Some cops are good but others are evil! they know that taking them to court is a rare thing unless a person has money and a good lawyer.
In my county , confiscated firearms used to go missing from the evidence room. I know this for a fact because I know a gun dealer who told me a Weatherby rifle came up missing from evidence and the owner made the court replace it and they bought the replacement from him.
Guys - don't put any "Bing Bang" stickers on your trucks. This is just inviting criminals to break into your truck looking for Bing bangs. Happens all the time to guys with those stickers on their trucks.
It's not their money or property so they generally don't care. I had so tools, chainsaws and medicine I needed get stolen from my truck at a hospital and the cop that showed up didn't even bother to write my name and information down. He was too involved with flirting with the nurses.
About 20 years ago I had several weapons stolen from my house. They were recovered within days and when I went to the P.D. to pick them up two of them disappeared. The guns, a Springfield Armory 1911 in 38 Super and a Remington 700 Varmit rifle were both supposed to have been claimed before I arrived. I can not prove it but I believe that the weapons were taken by police officers. They had the proper serial number of both guns so they can't get rid of them wiithout the #’s hitting.
Yes YES they can..they can be passed around for years, especially amongst those known to each other..it's happen many times..and there is more than one shady shop more than willing to move them as well, especially if they have"local backup "
This is exactly the reason I like to have a paper trail these days. For important issue's I always txt or emai, so I have proof later on. I never make phone calls anymore.
You really should lawyer up and sue the station for not returning your personal property. I would bet a dollar that they don’t have all your property in the vault. You need every paperwork that’s ever been filed for the case and if they don’t have it they owe you the money to replace with new ones.
You are a good man and the way you handled this shows maturity and some wisdom. I appreciate your channel and the content. I'm so disappointed to hear how this went down but it seems the way of the world these days. Thanks for your channel
Sounds like he got it wrong telling you that. I would've thought the owner was responsible for picking it up and signing for it. I'm glad it worked out okay.
A letter to the police chief on lawyers letterhead stationary should do the trick next time. The police are not always right. It was probably at that guys house in his pistol safe. He didn’t want to give it up.
I am sorry Hoot, that you have had to go through this mess, and that the gun shop was jerked around. One, good that it got sorted out, and Two, the lying 'occifer' is making his department look like ass. I would bet almost anything that he is not a good representation of the rest of his station. Just like with Christmas presents, we must remember that "It's the thought that counts." Ultra-Mega-MAGA. 🤗 Gosh darnit!
Adam, you did right. Don't get agitated, calm, and reasonable conversations will get you where you need to go with authorities. It was most likely there was a process the officer you talked to didn't know about and the one he was talking to just ignored his requests and inquiries. He comes in once a week, only on Mondays? Hmm, sounds about right! Bureaucracy at work....
That has been a mess for sure man I hate you’ve had to deal with that. Just my two cents I would start recording your phone calls in this kind of situation. Also what happen with the lawsuit or what ever with the Big Bang company?Keep up the good work man God bless
I knew a guy that inherited a few guns from his father, he told me he was turning them over to the police to be destroyed. I told a relative in law enforcement the story, he just laughed and said those guns would be finding new homes. I'm sure things get lost in the paperwork, maybe with a little help.
Honesty is seriously rare in our police force everywhere. Most police have massive IPD complications. Insecure Personality Disorder. And many cheated to gain an education. Just saying. Sad but true.
This is a familiar story. There are a ton of corrupt bully cops. He wanted you to get tired of the struggle and just drop it so he could keep the CZ for himself. I can't tell you how many times I've heard this same story through the years. 😠😡🤬
I had guns stolen one time from my home ,,the law found them at a bootleggers ,,they got them back and I ask many times over n over when I would get my guns back ,,never got them back but did see one of them in a guys truck at a gas pump ,,,he was the sheriff’s next door neighbor.
This right hear is a great example of why everyone needs to video the cops if you talk to them face to face and record them if you have phone conversations with them 👍
I don't think you should let it go. You should file a complaint on the cop that lied to you. That way it goes on his permanent record. Love the vids love the stories. Keep up the good work...
I understand you don't like negativity but sometimes that is reality. The reality is that it is rare that you find a truly honest police officer or any other person in authority. The truth hurts and it sucks but that is the way it is. Power corrupts
Agree. Talking about Truth is a positive in that it helps other be prepared for reality. Reality may have some negatives, but raising awareness of them is positive.
The police operate on a system of implied authority. They’ve forgotten the constitution was written not to restrict the people, but rather to restrict the government.
@@DonnieDarko727 It is not superstition. It is reality. And context always matters. The particular reference to authority appears to be authority of government officials. Those officials do have some authority from We The People who delegated that authority to them. No superstition. Just reality.
@@2Truth4Liberty "We the People" is a Barnum statement. Not a legal term. You can't use the "We the People" defense in a criminal case, can you? Again, you just accept the set forth narrative that the Constitution binds anyone, creates authority from thin air, and is in anyway legitimate. Logically, how do you give Authority to someone you don't first have? Can two people give one person authority the two don't have? How about a thousand people "voting" to give one person authority over them they don't have? Does that make it work? You are not a deep thinker, that much is obvious. 1. When did YOU personally agree to be bound by the Constitution? 2. When did you sign the Constitution? If.your answer is, " I was born here," or it's a social contract, try again.
Negativity sucks but the truth has to come out; we have to call corruption and evil out and confront it or else we’ll be dealing with something a lot worse. Nicely done, thanks for taking a stand and maintaining your integrity even when it would have been easier to let it go. That’s the kind of stuff that *actually* holds our society together, not the government or it’s agents and their empty promises to uphold the law and administer justice.
He wanted you to believe his lie and walk away. Then he would get the gun. Thieves are Thieves even with a badge on.
Even worse with a badge on. Pathetic and useless.

Incompetence is one thing, lying is a totally different story. The cop should be fired

Now you can add being disgruntled from being openly laughed at by fellow cops to their baked in personal issues.
Major character flaws and personal issues aside, the real issue is the police department hires Low I.Q. folks who can’t think for themselves. They want soldiers who follow orders. Everything is black and white.
There’s no situation the cops can’t make worse
Just like Biden...
It's what they do...they are professional liers so that makes it ok.

I have cops that are close family! But, you need to file an Official Complaint with that Police Department against that Officer by name and put down date and times (approximate of course)!
Then any time you are in town, they will be watching your every move.
What sucks is it had the coolest vernier ladder sight ever on it😢😢.😢
It is sad that in this day and time some of these people are in FACT incompetent ignorant and/or IDIOTS.
It's been said, If you lose your health, you have lost it all. Well I say If one loses their integrity, They have lost everything. I love your videos!
I appreciate you watching
To many civilians and FFL holders are held accountable for their mistakes and actions, while government officials are not!
But we are supposed to trust government, I don't think so!

Appreciate the honesty about the drama videos, most youtubers will say they're avoiding drama while addressing drama because it gets views.
How you told the story calmly is beyond me !
Solid advice, unfortunately most people won't listen.

@@wood-wheel-wizarddepending on the situation you can be charged and convicted for lying to them.
dont talk to them at all
Have YOUR LAWYER deal with the police if possible. If by yourself, RECORD EVERYTHING.
Laziness or he was thinking you'd give up and he could keep (steal) it.
Adam, I never met you, but I know you are one of the most solid folks there are . Sad , some people have no problem with lies.
The only thing that surprises me about this story is that it eventually was resolved correctly. Good on you for following through. What a huge PITA!
Record every conversation with your phone, police aren’t like they use to be, there’s still good ones out there but lots of untrustworthy police these days n they are protected pretty well !! Cameras your best line of defense !!
Sorry you and Mr. Paul are dealing with this garbage. Really glad you’re calling them out …….
Hope it gets better 💯
Had local police take rifle during a traffic stop then had to contact attorney to get it back outta "evidence room" which just happened to be at his home. Since then have heard several same type of situations involving officers.
WOW
This is actually pretty common locally... State, county, and city leos do this.
Absolute FACT..IVE had exactly the same thing happen.
Oh my
I would find another CCW class.
Apologies, the anti police comments were gettin to me. I should have read the full comment.@@camwinston5248
Would you be wiiling to name the township (and state) you mentioned so we can avoid it?
Oh yeah, they either lost it or stole it. Been their done that. They know they are protected and it’s up to us to spend money on an attorney to fight it.
Back in grade school officer friendly use to visit and warn about stranger danger, looks like it's the other way around now.
I'm glad you finally got it resolved! Sounds like a huge headache!🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
Isaiah 40:31
A good example of why a follow-up email trail can serve as evidence of what was said in person. There's also a time when matters need to be taken to someone in management when wheels stop turning.
Unfortunately this kind of situation isn't rare, you have to record conversations and meetings because there will be no accountability otherwise.
What's the procedure if the sheriff...is a corrupted @$$# too ?
he wanted to keep your gun!
They say there are bad apples in every bunch, but the police/LEO are one huge group where we can’t afford to have any bad apples.
You put 1 bad apple in the crate come back 30 days the whole crate is rotten.😂😂😂

Wow... this cannot stand. Keep your chin up, patriots stand with you!
The people > government
Had a similar issue involving a model 1897 shotgun and a small local police department. After a month and a half of run around and nonsense from that police chief, i contacted the county sheriff and got him involved. Needless to say he was very unhappy with how I was treated. Funny how things were magically resolved within that very week after he made some phone calls.
Sucks that this had to happen to somebody so honest. You went above and beyond your duty for that store owner. You're a great guy!!
It’s a wonder it didn’t disappear from the evidence vault!
How can you tell if they were lying? Their lips were moving🤔😳😂
Welcome to small town middle TN folks. I live about 30 minutes from ya. We have alot of good cops with a couple shady ones throwed into the mix.
God bless ya brother.
Sorry you went through all this.
Thoughts on the NEW hornady cartridge 22ARC
When seconds count, the cops are only minutes away...
Public “servants” and accountability/integrity are like oil and water, they don’t mix.
That's a crooked cop🤦 He probably was trying to keep the CZ for himself.
I had a Ruger LCP stolen from my car once. Took like 4-5 years to get it back.
Lmao, never underestimate the ability of government worker’s abilities to fk 💩up!
Guys - don't put any "Bing Bang" stickers on your trucks. This is just inviting criminals to break into your truck looking for Bing bangs. Happens all the time to guys with those stickers on their trucks.
Excellent statement. Facts.
"I'm gonna need to speak to a Supervisor!!"
It's not their money or property so they generally don't care. I had so tools, chainsaws and medicine I needed get stolen from my truck at a hospital and the cop that showed up didn't even bother to write my name and information down. He was too involved with flirting with the nurses.
I'm glad you found the mix-up of the serial numbers before there was an investigation on said piece
Here in Michigan you Unconstitutionally have to Register every hand gun at the Sheriffs Office
The officer was just upset because he had to go get that CZ back from whichever one of his buddies he had given it to.
Same thing happened to me, had one stolen then recovered and got the run around trying to get it back. I gave up after a year.
Sounds like he got it wrong telling you that. I would've thought the owner was responsible for picking it up and signing for it. I'm glad it worked out okay.
Got to love his honesty about views, remember to always hit the like button !
🙏🙏🙏
The Bing Bang went into a Cops Personal Possession and they finally got enough Pressure that they had to bring it back to the Store .
He had stole it and took it home. That's why he was pissy.
Possible
Adam I must say your experience with the police and my experience with the police are exactly the same !!!!!!!!
An interesting story, glad everything worked out in the end.
“The police lied to me”
“Water is wet”
They dropped it
Po-Po lie? You don’t say
😆😆😆
I knew a guy that inherited a few guns from his father, he told me he was turning them over to the police to be destroyed. I told a relative in law enforcement the story, he just laughed and said those guns would be finding new homes. I'm sure things get lost in the paperwork, maybe with a little help.
Honesty is seriously rare in our police force everywhere. Most police have massive IPD complications. Insecure Personality Disorder. And many cheated to gain an education. Just saying. Sad but true.
Cop works for you... he had time.
That’s unbelievable. At this time we live in who can you possibly trust. It’s truly a shame how some people can be so untruthful and dishonest.
This is a familiar story. There are a ton of corrupt bully cops. He wanted you to get tired of the struggle and just drop it so he could keep the CZ for himself. I can't tell you how many times I've heard this same story through the years. 😠😡🤬
Everybody "backs the blue" till they have to personality deal with them....
Email instead of or in addition too, phone call. Email = paper trail...
I had guns stolen one time from my home ,,the law found them at a bootleggers ,,they got them back and I ask many times over n over when I would get my guns back ,,never got them back but did see one of them in a guys truck at a gas pump ,,,he was the sheriff’s next door neighbor.
WOW

I can not believe this is still ongoing. You are very calm about this 👍
This right hear is a great example of why everyone needs to video the cops if you talk to them face to face and record them if you have phone conversations with them 👍
I don't think you should let it go.
Why do you believe in the superstition of authority?
The police operate on a system of implied authority. They’ve forgotten the constitution was written not to restrict the people, but rather to restrict the government.
@@DonnieDarko727
It is not superstition.
