    @Johnny McGurk Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Adam is probably a polyglot. He can converse in Japanese seemingly fluently, as he knows how to say many different phrases, and understand phrases that the players say to him.
    My question to Adam: Where/how did you learn to speak Japanese and Chinese? Those are not easy languages. I give you a lot of credit!

    • @AdamBobrow
      @AdamBobrow  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks! I wouldn’t say I am a polyglot… but I guess it’s all relative. I am interested in people, languages and communication. My Chinese is better than my Japanese and neither are fluent. I learned Japanese from an ex-girlfriend and kept it alive working in Japanese food and later, communicating with the Japanese team at tournaments. I learned Chinese through immersion living in Taiwan. 8>)

      @joshuarezents9957 3 роки тому +1

      @@AdamBobrow Wow, that is amazing! I am interested in languages too, but it just seems so hard for me to learn a different language. Being able to understand what someone says in a different language, and then responding appropriately in that language has always been the hardest part for me! I am also a major table tennis fan and I love to play! I really like your videos too--they are very entertaining! I often watch and re-watch them as a de-stresser (I am a college student and often find myself struggling with classes and homework) and watching your videos is an excellent way to take my mind off some of that stuff. To brag a little, I am the table tennis champion at the University I attend, but when I see players, like you, who are much better than me, I am still a novice player. Awesome stuff, Adam!

      @AdamBobrow  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks, Marco! My sound effects have improved over the years. haha. Tough to say... I would imagine my USATT rating is probably pretty accurate. I guess I want to avoid becoming that all-to-familiar stereotype... where you ask, "What's your rating?" and the person responds with "I play at a 2300 level" and you look up the person's rating and it's 2100. I've definitely learned a lot over the last 6 years of regularly being on the world tour... but I would say my current level is 2134. 8>)
