Living with the good, the bad and the ugly in front of the world while still finding a way to be great living and playing through the good, the bad and the ugly.
Being a public figure or star athlete comes with a lot of highs but it also comes with a lot of eyes when living your life for all to see. Today we are sitting with MLB All-Star Chicago White Sox Short Stop Tim Anderson who has earned the respect on the field as one of the top players in the game and also become a well known face in Chicago for his efforts in the community.
Wanting to chop it up with Tim for awhile now, this conversation comes at a time where recently, the headlines of Tim haven't been about hitting home runs, making double plays or wins and losses but rather about the type of family man he is as a husband and father. Ryan, Channing and Fred open up with Tim in a conversation amongst men about the personal struggles that are faced in marriage, parenting and living life in the public eye. Tim shares his truth about his own journey away from baseball and how despite what goes on off the field, the responsibility to show up and perform every single day for his team, his teammates, the fans and give 100% focus and effort.
Being black in baseball is not the norm and Tim has taken his on field skill and success into creating an opportunity for the sport to embrace the culture. Known for his flare of flipping bats and confident swagger on the field, Tim has carved a niche in the sport allowing young black kids from around the world to realize that playing baseball at this high level can be their reality too.
Sharing stories of growing up in Alabama and pain from his childhood of father being in prison and being raised by his aunt, Tim talks about the importance of being a present dad and active in his children's life and teaching them to grow through love and understanding.

I spent my childhood with both parents in prison and i had to live with my grandmother and aunt. I was always embarrassed about having incarcerated parents, so it feels cathartic to hear them talk about their experiences and sharing that feeling of “feeling like a burden” to other family members. I know it too well. Even as an adult I push myself to be independent just to avoid that feeling. This is a good interview.

For a team and side of the city that often gets ignored, overlooked, or straight up disrespected at a national level, Tim put the White Sox and, as a result, the Southside of Chicago back in the conversation in a positive way. He gave us an opportunity to finally showcase our love for this team and city on a national level. We don't get an opportunity to do that very often and for that I appreciate TA.
Always thankful to anyone with the courage to share about themselves in the bad. Best of luck to you and your family, Tim.

I don’t think he has fully unpacked his traumas and may not fully understand what he’s doing against all odds. I think he needs to continue to find positive releases and stay in therapy. God has a plan for his life and is carrying him. I’m rooting for him to continue healing, taking accountability, growing professionally and personally. He can as long as he stays open to help and surrounds hisself with people who will stretch him.

The host are always respectful which is why ppl feel comfortable coming on the podcast but I felt like they could’ve got in Ass a tiny bit more. Also realize he seems a lil bit lost didn’t realize he was as young as he is. Good episode

Dope interview by my shortstop. Racist White Sox fans been trying to bury him this year but the real ones are still rocking with him and the bounce back is gonna be beautiful. Never heard of this podcast but these guys have a new subscriber in me. ✊

Another really great show! His transparency was tremendous and I wish he and his family continued love, growth and happiness. The interview questions are second to none and yet so real without ever tearing the guest apart. This is like an impromptu visit “from good people you don’t know, but now you’re glad you got a chance to meet so to speak”.😅 The pivot is priceless❤

This man. Has learned his lesson. He will keep the family together. And will be the upmost husband and father to his children. We Cannot judge him. He owes us nothing. Only to win games. Period ❤

Black people loved Baseball so much that WE HAD OUR OWN LEAGUE WHEN NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY MLB!! There are numerous reasons why Black people are not WELCOME in Baseball but if Black people are more involved the sport will see tremendous growth.

The interviewers seem to be men who have done “the work” . They spoke more highly of Bria than her husband during this interview . I understand life has its ups and downs as does marriage but I can never understand how the “l was going through a lot and lonely “ is the excuse for cheating . He had a wife and two girls and was lonely . Then had a side chick , around her kids and a new baby. Did that change the loneliness or only added to “all that he was going through” . He talked of all this new drama with his side chick blasting their business like it was nothing . Never calling her out . Never really apologizing or showing remorse for his wife . He is playing both sides even in this interview . Why bother coming on to talk and not say much of anything lol

He's a cancer man. I know a few of them that have 2 families or should we say "live double lives" cancer men love & need to be emotionally stimulated. His wife was probably lacking in that area. His wife is a business woman & she's taking care of his children so she probably couldn't be there for him all the way. I feel like that's where deja his "side chick" came into play. He needed a quick fix that he couldn't get from his wife.
